Abstract: Odorant-binding proteins (OBPs) and chemosensory proteins (CSPs) are small soluble polypeptides that bind semiochemicals in the lymph of insect chemosensilla. In the genome of Anopheles gambiae, 66 genes encode OBPs and 8 encode CSPs. Here we monitored their expression through classical proteomics (2D gel-MS analysis) and a shotgun approach. The latter method proved much more sensitive and therefore more suitable for tiny biological samples as mosquitoes antennae and eggs. Females express a larger number and higher quantities of OBPs in their antennae than males (24 vs 19). OBP9 is the most abundant in the antennae of both sexes, as well as in larvae, pupae and eggs. Of the 8 CSPs, 4 were detected in antennae, while SAP3 was the only one expressed in larvae. Our proteomic results are in fairly good agreement with data of RNA expression reported in the literature, except for OBP4 and OBP5, that we could not identify in our analysis, nor could we detect in Western Blot experiments. The relatively limited number of soluble olfactory proteins expressed at relatively high levels in mosquitoes makes further studies on the coding of chemical messages at the OBP level more accessible, providing for few specific targets. Identification of such proteins in Anopheles gambiae might facilitate future studies on host finding behavior in this important disease vector.
UN MODELO INTEGRAL PARA EVALUAR EL IMPACTO DE LA TRANSFERENCIA DE CONOCIMIENTO INTERORGANIZACIONAL EN EL DESEMPE?O DE LA FIRMA
RODRíGUEZ OREJUELA,AUGUSTO;
Estudios Gerenciales , 2005,
Abstract: in the last years the relations of cooperation between companies have arised as a new form of production organization that favors the learning and transference processes of interorganizacional knowledge. these forms of cooperation and in particular the transferred knowledge are constituted in a source of supplemental endowement of competences that contribute to performance of the receiving company. this article presents an integral model to evaluate the performance of the company as a result of inter-organizacional knowledge transference.
TRANSFERENCIA DE CONOCIMIENTO EN RELACIONES INTER-ORGANIZACIONALES: SU EFECTO SOBRE EL DESEMPE?O DE LA FIRMA RECEPTORA
RODRíGUEZ OREJUELA,AUGUSTO;
Estudios Gerenciales , 2007,
Abstract: last years have been marked by a radical change in how firms do compete. the traditional vision of individual competition has been substituted by the relational paradigm of competing in the context of interfirm relationships and networks. from this perspective, the firm would increase its resources endowment establishing relationships with other firms, and the use of mechanisms to transfer knowledge from one firm to the other would make a significant contribution to this. in this study we, first, develop a scale to measure the use of knowledge-transfer mechanisms in inter-organizational relationships considering three generic types: explicit directives, explicit routines, and tacit routines. second, some hypothesis about the effects of knowledge-transfer mechanisms on the target?s firm are presented and empirically tested. results indicate a positive effect, though with disparities among the different generic types of mechanisms analysed. implications for the emerging theory of competitive advantage in inter-organizational relationships and managerial implications are presented at the end of the article.

Tartusi,Marta R.;
Cuadernos de la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales. Universidad Nacional de Jujuy , 2002,
Abstract: the defense of the cultural and environmental patrimony and their management is an issue that cannot be approached except in relation to today's conceptions and tendencies of science and policy. this is so proven by the analysis of the documents that surfaced on the intergovernmental conferences at unesco regarding cultural policy. from them we can extract some ideas that, born in venice (1970), were gradually completed in the following meetings (helsinki 1972, yogyakarta 1973, accra 1975, bogota 1978, mexico 1982) through the addition of new contributions. these were the product of a deeper treatment the issues and could not be but dealt with, in view of the geo-political changes that were occurring in various regions of the world. these new ideas gradually gave way to a new "global policy conception" which was not committed to in the same degree by the different countries and regions that conform the international community, least of all by the promoters of this change. our starting point is the reflective thought on the factors that have brought about the resurgence of the issues relating to the importance of the production of new cultural policy and the defense of the cultural heritage in the last decade. on the basis of ideas from latin-american authors and of recent official documents that we deem important, we analyze and try to fundament our own practices as related to the treatment of the promotion of cultural values. likewise, we attempt to answer the questions of how and what for or for whom do we produce our proposals.
Marta R. Castilho
Nova Economia , 2005,
Abstract: The UE and Mercosur are currently negotiating a free trade agreement. The offer made by Mercosur reflects its production and protection structure and is more "generous" to agriculture than to industry. In fact, the main competitive fragilities of Mercosur are concentrated in manufactured goods while European competitive fragilities are concentrated in the agriculture sector. As the UE has an important market share in the Mercosur countries, it poses a major threat to the domestic producers. Our paper seeks to identify, at a disaggregated level, the Mercosur manufactured goods for which the growth of the European manufacture exports can represent a threat. We consider that trade growth depends on the existence of complementarity between the two regions and the existence of a margin for liberalization in the destination market, and that the greater the trade among Mercosur countries the greater the threat from European goods to local produces.
Identification of Alternaria spp. as Pathogenic on the Native Species Terminalia australis and Salvia guaranitica  [PDF]

American Journal of Plant Sciences (AJPS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ajps.2013.46A006
Abstract:

This work is the result of activities included in the cooperative project between Asociación Ribera Norte (ARN) and the Department of Plant Pathology, School of Agronomy, University of Buenos Aires. ARN is a non-governmental organization created in 1993 mainly for the management of the Reserva Ecológica Municipal Ribera Norte, a preservation area located in San Isidro (North of Buenos Aires), within the Provincia Paranaense region. The aims were to identify diseases in native plant species growing there. Light brown leaf spots with thin brown margins and narrow yellow halos were observed on Terminalia australis (mean disease severity: 25%). The pathogen was isolated, inoculated on healthy plants, reisolated from infected leaves and identified as Alternaria tenuissima. Similarly, another leaf-spot disease was observed on Salvia guaranitica, characterized by reddish brown large spots developed from the apexes and margins towards the centre of the leaves, reaching the veins in some cases (mean severity: 20%). Pathogen isolation, inoculation and reisolation led to the identification of A. alternata as the causal agent of the disease. Unusual heavy rain is analyzed as disease conductive.
