Abstract: the objective of this study is to analyze the distribution of the proanf resources between the federation units, during the last decade. the results show that, initially, the distribution of these resources became less concentrated. however, this trend changed at the end of the period, and, currently, the pronaf resources remains concentrated in a few states, mainly rio grande do sul, santa catarina, paraná and minas gerais. it was also observed that the distribution of the resources does not reflect, completely, the distribution of familiar agriculture between the states. these resources have been directed, mainly, to states whose participation in the value produced by familiar agriculture is high.

Revista IDeAS : Interfaces em Desenvolvimento, Agricultura e Sociedade , 2009,
Abstract: With the deregulation of the coffee there was the need to discuss availability, export and consumption of the product through a perspective encompassing all links in the industrial chain of coffee. The process of commercialization of coffee led to further deepening of the interdependence of the segments of the export industry and the productive sectors. In this sense, it was aimed to analyze the industrial chain of Brazilian coffee after deregulation and its adjustments to meet market demands. Data and information were obtained on the Internet and works precursors. The results showed that the coffee remains one of the most important Brazilian agribusiness. With deregulation, there was instability in prices and adjustments in both prices and the imperfections of the actors in the chain occurred slowly. On the other hand, the market dynamics printed right across the industrial chain of coffee. We have created new niche markets, with emphasis on product differentiation, quality, certification, social responsibility, least harmful to the environment. There was a migration of production to regions with better climatic conditions, Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo. Segment marketing, there has been more emphasis on the formulation of blends aligned to the process of product differentiation to meet the industries and importers.

Economia Aplicada , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-80502008000300002
Abstract: this study analyses the contribution of agricultural and non-farm activities to the inequality of rural income distribution in brazil, observing two evidences: the participation of each sector in the household earnings of different income strata delimited by percentiles and the decomposition of gini coefficients. besides the official rural population, this research includes towns whose population and demographic density are very low. the results show that agriculture and rural non-farm activities contribute, respectively, to reduce and to increase rural income inequalities in brazil.
Educa??o, concentra??o fundiária e desigualdade de rendimentos no meio rural brasileiro

Revista de Economia e Sociologia Rural , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-20032009000100006
Abstract: the paper analyses the effects of rural income determinants, in particular of human capital and physical capital. besides the earnings equation estimated for persons occupied in agriculture, the paper also analyzes earnings regressions for persons occupied in the industry and service sectors. the results show that physical capital is the main determinant of earnings in brazilian agriculture, but schooling is the most important determinant of earnings for persons occupied in rural non-farm activities and for all persons living in rural areas.

Abstract: in the present study, the influence of the use of steel microsphere in structural concrete has been observed. by ayalyzing the results of compression resistance taken after seven days of curing and performance of compression destructive tests on cylindrical test molds consisting of measured concrete with added percentages of the new aggregate (steel microsphere), which replaced one sand parcel in the traces of the concrete used. the produced concrete was experimentally dosed and identified according to the rate of building cement and percentage of microspheres in the sand of the calculated traces. in the present study, sixty-one test molds have been produced of which fifty-eight have been essayed, one selected longitudinally for analyse of it's internal structure (disposition of the aggregates) and the last two have been selected for future observations.

A survey was made to determine preferences in the purchase of beef by 413 consumers in Brasília. It was conducted by using their demographic profile, option for the point of purchase, preference of the point of purchase and meat characteristics. Locations were strategically chosen based upon a stratification of the population. Results disclosed that costumers had a preference for supermarkets. The hygiene of the environment, conservation of the products and the sanitary inspection were more important than an attractive price offered by the purchase point. Regarding the product, consumers preferred the better appearance of the meat color and fat, care in trimming the meat and aspects related to the expected taste and tenderness instead of the information and origin shown on the packaging.

Identification of a Highly Expressed 3-Hydroxy-3-Methylglutaryl-CoA Reductase Gene in the Root Tissue of Taraxacum kok-saghyz  [PDF]

American Journal of Plant Sciences (AJPS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ajps.2014.524376
Abstract:
Kazakh dandelion (Taraxacum kok-saghyz, Tk) is a rubber-producing plant currently being investigated as a source of natural rubber for industrial applications. Like many other isoprenoids, rubber is a downstream product of the mevalonate pathway. The 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase (HMGR) enzyme catalyzes the conversion of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA to mevalonic acid, a key regulatory step in the MVA pathway. Such regulated steps provide targets for increases in isoprenoid and rubber contents via genetic engineering to increase enzyme activities. In this study, we identify a TkHMGR1 gene that is highly expressed in the roots of Kazakh dandelion, the main tissue where rubber is synthesized and stored. This finding paves the way for further molecular and genetic studies of the TkHMGR1 gene, and its role in rubber biosynthesis in Tk and other rubber-producing plants.
