Abstract This work discusses biological diversity through a criticism of the biological diversity conservation policy established by the Convention of Biological Diversity, viewed here as impregnated with a utilitarian and economical logic. Although this policy recognizes the knowledge and practices of traditional communities as a tool for the sustainable management of biological diversity, it ignores the spiritual and symbolic dimension of the indigenous cosmologies and its conservationist role. The approach proposed here was guided by an analysis of the duality between animality and humanity, involving a brief examination of South American indigenous cosmologies and philosophical reflections. Through the study of a few fragments of cosmological narratives it is showed that the boundaries between animality and humanity disappear. The attempt to build a dialogue between indigenous cosmologies and philosophical reflections aimed at placing the analysis in the field of the relationship with the divine, as an immanent experience. Key words: biodiversity; indigenous cosmologies; animality.

Conflitos territoriais. Simbolismo. Biodiversidade. Abstract This article aims to understand the symbolism of the Sea Urchin Festival connected with the Saint Luzia Festival, celebrated on December 13, as a cultural and popular religiosity manifestation from a fishermen community. These festivals belong to the people that inhabits the Suape Bay but whose territory is still been disputed by the Industrial Complex of Suape Port that has caused serious environmental impacts over the local biodiversity, thus threatening the fishing activity. The methodology of this research is an ethnographic study that uses the participant observation and interviews with special emphasis on life story, as well as literature and documents. The methodology took into account also the memory narrative composed of “symbols that mark the identity of a social group”. (TEDESCO, 2002), highlighting elements as “social relationship, their ties of belonging, the nature of biophysical meaning into their lives and the environmental conflicts experienced” (SOUZA, 2009). Keywords: Popular Catholicism. Territorial conflicts. Symbolism. Biodiversity.

Abstract: the daily practice of community health agents (chas) is permeated with educational interventions aimed at preventive care and health promotion. the sociocultural universe of these professionals can affect the dynamics of their practice within the community, particularly in rural areas, where there is evidence that the population expects to obtain information relative to their health and/or disease by means of cultural rites. based on a case study, we sought to analyze the influence of the cultural practices of the agents working in a rural area in the interior of the state of minas gerais. the analysis revealed the presence of a strong connection between the culture and their activities. religious beliefs and knowledge developed from the fusion of biomedical information and values based on family tradition regarding the health-disease process have a direct effect on their practices. it is emphasized that they have an important role as facilitators in the practice of health care, with a positive effect stemming from the similarity of their life experiences and inherited cultures with those of the clients, thus making it possible to develop effective interventions.

Ecologia. Bíblia. Teologia. Abstract: The biblical tradition has inspired environmental readings and interpretations by Christian theologians of various aspects, among which we highlight: Carriker, Reimer, Schaeffer and Stott. The aim of this paper is to present a brief overview of the Judeo-Christian Scriptures and how they have been interpreted by Christian theologians linked to strand reformed in the light of an ecological reading. An epistemological cut was made recognizing these theologians and their heterogeneous ideological positions in order to preserve the re(read) of the biblical texts chosen under the ecological perspective. White Jr. (1967), American historian, wrote an article that blamed Christianity for the environmental crisis. This speech has been confronted over the past several decades by the Christian spectrum and the theologians chosen for dialogue in this article advocate contrary positions to what was stated by White Jr., at the time. The path to the dialogue between these theologians was sought from the idea that speech is a social construction (Foucault, 2009). From the analysis of the dialogue established between the theologians and their chosen re(readings) biblical texts is

Abstract: anastrepha fraterculus (wied.) shows a populational fluctuation related to the year season in southern brazil. adults cannot be colected by means of conventional methods of capture in the winter. even with the use of special traps, a very low number of adults is caught. two hypothesis are pointed out to explain the increase of the population at spring: a) adults migrate from neighbouring areas with temperature more favourable during winter, and b) some individuals that can survive the critical period develop a differential metabolic regulation. in this paper the second hypothesis was tested by studying the effect of four temperatures (9, 13, 20 and 25oc) on ovarian maturation and longevity of the females. only at 25 and 20oc ovarian maturation has occurred. the life expectancy was larger in the intermediate temperatures (20 and 13oc) than in the extreme temperatures (25 and 9oc). the relation between ovarian maturation and longevity was observed at 25 and 20oc, although at 25oc the ovarian maturation was faster, but the life expectancy was lower. therefore, the hypothesis of developmental regulation cannot be discarded as a populational mechanism in a. fraterculus for its populational increase in the months subsequent to the winter.
