Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi : Ciências Naturais , 2008,
Abstract: Coastal beach vegetation in the Amazon River delta (Pará and Amapá states, Brazil) occupies an estimated area of 1000 km2, less than 0,1% of the area occupied by other types of Amazonian vegetation. This study aims to characterize beach ecosystems of the northern Brazilian states of Pará and Amapá, based on their floristic composition (including the first species checklist for the region), vegetation classification, and geomorphology, and to establish a classification of the different types of beach vegetation in Amazonian coastal areas. Ten areas of beach vegetation were investigated on the Pará and Amapá coasts. The checklist includes 365 plant species in 237 genera and 88 families, with information on life forms, popular names, predominant vegetation community, and geographical occurrences along the coast. Three phases of beach vegetation are recognized: (1) pioneer or establishment phase, (2) intermediate or transition phase, and (3) consolidation phase. Amazonian beach ecosystems are unprotected since they lie outside of any non-use conservation unit. It is urgent that they be included in protected areas because of their vulnerable and restricted floras, some species of which are threatened with local extinction due to current high levels of human exploitation of these areas.

Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi : Ciências Naturais , 2009,
Abstract: Peltogyne venosa subsp. densiflora (Spruce ex Benth.) M.F. Silva, from the Amazon region and known popularly as purpleheart, supplies wood of excellent quality, mainly for construction and carpentry. This study aimed to describe the reproductive structures, the germination and seedling morphology of this subspecies, and present unpublished illustrations and to support its recognition in the natural formations and its management. Collecting areas: Caquajó stream and plot of the Research Program in Biodiversity (PPBio) in Portel. In Melga o, the area of the Ferreira Penna Research Station (ECFPn) and Curuá river. The study was conducted in laboratory and nursery conditions. The taxonomic identification of the subspecies was mainly based in literature. Representative specimens were deposited in the herbarium ‘Jo o Mur a Pires’ (MG), the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. The subspecies presents the inflorescence in terminal or subterminal panicles; bracteoles oval or orbicular, rigid and concaves; flower with four sepals, five petals and ten stamens; fruit dry, indehiscent and monospermic; and seeds broadly obovate, with hilum terminal. The germination is epigeal and phanerocotylar. Atthirty-five days, the seedling was fully developed.

Rodriguésia , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S2175-78602012000100006
Abstract: the study of seedling morphology, before metaphyll sprouting, is a powerful tool in systematic studies in order to help identify monophyletic genera of leguminosae. the study of seedling morphology leads to the discovery of temporary, basal and derived structures that are helpful to establish phylogenetic relationships, but may not be present in the adult individual. cotyledon type, foliaceous or reserve, is one of the most important species characteristics. it facilitates the understanding of important strategic evolutionary changes as well as the ecological and evolutionary history of species of plants in relation to their habitat. the type of germination constitutes one of the most important characteristics used to identify species. in addition, characteristics such as shape of the limbus, edge, apex, eophyll position, presence or absence of latex or resin, length/width relationship of cotyledons, size and number of pinnae, as well as petiole winged or not, allow the identification of families, genera or even species. in leguminosae, the study of plant morphology is used to confirm plant identification in the field, as well as to delimit generic and infrageneric identification in this family. overall, caesalpinioideae and mimosoideae seedlings are considered epigeal, with foliaceous-type cotyledons; on the other hand in the papilionoideae there is a predominance of hypogeal species with reserve cotyledons. the latter has also great variety, especially in tribes with ligneous species.

Abstract: This article has the objective to present elaborations that teachers make when they have the chance to attend university classes that promote the experience and the elaboration of activities of education in the logical-historical perspective. In these classes, the teachers are invited to reflect about the meanings and the reasons of the concepts they teach. In the last few years, we have defended that the logical-historical and, particularly, the activities of education has, as main function, to promote the set in motion thoughts of those who teach and of those who learn, in the direction to solving problems, from definibilities of the concepts. Here, history takes on the role of a link between the causality of facts and the possibility of creation of new definibilities of the concept, that allow the understanding of the internal and external nexuses of the concepts, conceptual nexuses, that exist in the mathematical contents that are discussed in Basic Education. The activity of education is a link between practical theory and the formation of teachers. Word-key: Activities of Education. Logical-historical. Education. Conceptual Nexuses. Nexos Conceituais.
