Tendências comportamentais frente à saúde de imigrantes brasileiros em Portugal

Abstract: this study aimed to understand the main conditions and setting of the brazilian immigrants formations in the portuguese context. specifically, the aim was to clarify which factors contribute to determine the searching for health services in the host country. the sample was consisted by 75 brazilians who live in portugal, from which 35 were men and 40 were women. the data were collected by a socio-demographic questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. the results showed an increasing of a brazilian immigrants' profile in portugal, and the insertion of such into a group of social risk, reflected in their psychological and social conditions, and more specifically in the health field.

Abstract: the following study deals with depression and suicide, two serious public health problems, under a psychosocial approach. its aim is the assimilation of the social representations concerning these two phenomena as well as the investigation of their occurrence in an academic setting. two-hundred and twenty-three students of both sexes, registered in all periods of the psychology course of a public university participated in the research. the tools used were beck’s depression inventory (bdi), beck’s suicidal ideation scale (bsi) and the free technique of word association, with the use of three inductive stimulations: depression, suicide, myself. depression was anchored on psycho-affective elements, whereas suicide was represented by the element death, that meant an escape. the self-image of the students, in general, emerges in a positive way, contrasting however with a significant index of depression and suicidal ideation in this population.

Abstract: nowadays the expression “life quality” is getting an increasing interest of professionals and researchers from the most varied human knowledge fields, especially on health services together with professionals and users. the aim of this article is to present the results of a research about the social representations of health professionals about life quality and its practices in the public service. it is an exploratory study developed in jo?o pessoa/pb, based on the social representations’ theory and instrumented by a semi-structured interview. the data collected were processed and analysed by the technique of content analysis (bardin, 2002) and dimensioned by categories that revealed the objective and subjective dimensions of these representations. regarding the public service, it was clear that a direct association with the difficulties and obstacles that public service presents are of little value to society and to its manager institutions.

Abstract: A depress o encontra-se associada às perturba es do humor de dura o variáveis, que é em geral acompanhada por sintomas físicos e mentais, interferindo na forma de sentir, pensar e agir. Este estudo tem como objetivo identificar as representa es sociais de crian as acerca da depress o através de uma abordagem transcultural. Participaram desse estudo crian as inseridas no contexto escolar brasileiro e português. Para tanto, utilizou-se os seguintes instrumentos: Children Depression Inventory (CDI) e Associa o Livre de Palavras. Os resultados apontam uma prevalência da depress o em crian as brasileiras (11%) e portuguesas (14%). De forma consensual, a depress o emerge como sin nimo de tristeza, doen a e choro. A pessoa deprimida é representada como angustiada, que chora, cabisbaixo, desanimada, sem amigo, como auto-imagem negativa (depreciativa), e que chora. Espera-se contribuir na compreens o da etiologia da depress o em contextos culturais diferenciados, bem como, na elabora o de estratégias preventivas para uma melhor qualidade de vida dessa popula o.
Aspectos psicossociais da vivência da soropositividade ao HIV nos dias atuais

Abstract: Esta pesquisa objetivou compreender os aspectos psicossociais da vivência da soropositividade e suas conseqüências da vida diária. Participaram da amostra 13 sujeitos soropositivos para o HIV de ambos os sexos, com média de idade de 37 anos. Foi utilizada a técnica de entrevista em profundidade. O material foi categorizado pela análise de conteúdo temática de Bardin (1977). Os dados possibilitaram representa es que ultrapassaram o aspecto biológico e atingiram o aspecto psicossocial (o preconceito, a segrega o e o estigma). Essas representa es influenciam e orientam as condutas destes atores sociais sejam em rela o à ades o, ao isolamento, a manuten o das rela es interpessoais e ao funcionamento sexual. A aids foi representada enquanto uma doen a que pode trazer inúmeras conseqüências psicossociais, profissionais, familiares e organicas. Conclui-se na necessidade de formula o de estratégias na implementa o de políticas públicas de educa o e promo o em saúde com o intuito de minimizar o impacto psicossocial da aids.

Abstract: the objective of this research was to understand the social representations of depression in the students of the psychology course from a university in the city of jo?o pessoa, pb. a number of 56 university students participated of the research, from both genders, aged between 18 and 26 years old. as instruments, the beck depression inventory for the screening of the sample and the test of free association of words were used. data were processed by tri-deux-mots software (version 2.2) and were analyzed through the factorial analysis of correspondence. the results obtained showed that the students objectified their representations of depression in the melancholy and disillusion, in a bond of support and necessity of care. lack of affection was also pointed as a depressive fact, and the factors associated to the perception of themselves are elaborated with the social reality of the context in which they live, showing that the semantic associations brought by the university students are a result of the problems that surround their position in the society, as well as the information they gave about the illness.

Abstract: the purpose of this study was to grasp the social representations about suicide amongst adolescents in high school context, as well as, to measure suicidal ideation levels among them, considering that suicide ideation brings a strong predictive role in suicide risk evaluation. ninety high school students took part in the study. the inclusion criteria in the sample were: high school students aged between 14 and 22 years old. as instruments, the free-word association test, the beck scale for suicide ideation (bsi) and a sociodemographic questionnaire were used. a level of 22.2% of suicidal ideation sample and significant differences in social representations of suicidal behaviors were observed among adolescents with and without suicidal ideation. adolescents with suicidal ideation self represented themselves as lonely, linking suicide ideations to hopelessness and loneliness, while requesting help for their suffering. findings lay emphasis on factors that may allow a better understanding of the problem of suicide.

Abstract: this research aimed to apprehend the social representations of depression held by teenagers in a high school in jo?o pessoa, pb. the study included 276 adolescents, male and female, aged between 14 and 17 years. the instruments used in the research were the children's depression inventory (cdi) and the projective technique drawing-story with theme. the results indicated that depression is associated with four aspects: psychological and affective, with the subcategories depression as a synonym of sadness and loving disappointment; psychosocial, with the subcategory difficulty of social relationship; morbid ideas, with the subcategory idea of death and/or suicidal ideation. these associations are the result of the adolescents experiences, as the information and representations linked to his group of belonging, pointing the need for preventive and educational practices in the institutions of education.

Abstract: the population movements of people who are more or less organized are a phenomenon as old as humanity. but the migration of millions of people who immigrate today is becoming a process with so intense stress levels that exceeds their capacity of adaptation. this study aims to assess the mental health and analyze the social representation of the constructs immigration, immigrant, mental health and the future of brazilian immigrants who live in the city of geneva, switzerland. this is an exploratory multimethod approach held with a sample of 266 participants who answered the bio-social demographic questionnaire, the instrument for self-reporting questionnaire scrining and the semi-directed interview. the questionnaire data were analyzed using the statistical package for social sciences (spss.for windows.16), using descriptive and inferential statistics and the content of the interviews through the analysis of bardin (1997/2002). the results showed that the variable time of immigration has favored the emergence of deficits in the mental health of participants. this study concluded that in this context of international immigration the social representations and the mental health of the immigrants are influenced by the duration or by the time of immigration.
