Hadinei Ribeiro Batista, Maria Cecilia Mollica
Creative Education (CE) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2014.58074

Currently, we observe a gap in terms of technological resources used in the teaching-learning process in networks of public education in Brazil and the lack of detail of the social identity of the subjects included in this process for the implementation of more effective public policies for a more inclusive and democratic education. This text discusses on the implementation of public virtual rooms of learning in elementary and high schools, with strict control of social factors, as complementary to the traditional education method still in force. It is intended: 1) to present and discuss a matrix of control of social identity for diverges cycles in which education takes shape, 2) to introduce a first model of formatting of these virtual rooms for each cycle of the education so that the control of social factors might be in accordance with the Brazilian Nacional Council of Education (Brasil, 2010) and the guidelines of the LDB (Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educacao) (Brasil, 1996) for each stage/cycle of the current educational process, 3) to examine the advantages of this new tool in mainstream education.

Valle, Maria Ribeiro do;
Intercom: Revista Brasileira de Ciências da Comunica??o , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1809-58442012000200007
Abstract: the present article approaches, according to our hypothesis, the yellow journalism, characterized by the use of entertainment by veja magazine in reporting the episodes of the student movement - the main movement engaged in the fight against dictatorship - since 1968. we made bibliographic research and a comparative study about the approach of 1998 and 2008's editions. during the celebrations of this unique year, our conclusion is that veja relies more and more on sensationalist elements in order to stain the image of the student movement, which corroborates the view of the culture industry and the society of the spectacle, which focus on the production of a "democratic" youth, i.e., a group that aims at economic success through the right to consume and the maintenance of the current political system.

Abstract: an investigation of the career of one of the "founding mothers" of the social sciences in rio de janeiro, marina de vasconcellos, successor of arthur ramos, is one way of understanding how anthropology was established in rio de janeiro. conflicts and alliances, continuities and discontinuities, lie behind the pioneering brazilian society of anthropology and ethnology and the institute of social sciences, both at faculdade nacional de filosofia. marina de vasconcellos' professional life bore the marks of the clash between different schools of thought regarding anthropology at a time when university courses were being introduced. as a professor, she was committed to educating new professionals, and in 1968, she was steadfast in the struggle for university autonomy. the study leads to a reflection upon the criteria for success in academia, countering the view that this depends entirely on the publication of books and articles.

Abstract: this paper examines how the reinvigoration of the exceptional american historical experience appears as a solution to some of the leading neoconservatives, considering nathan glazer and irving kristol as emblematic, regarding the "fall" of the american empire, beginning in the 1960s and 1970s, after its rise during the cold war, the so-called 25 glorious years. we note that the arguments of these authors is rooted in the revival of reactionary rhetoric as an antidote to the decadence of american virtue supposedly caused by communism, by the counterculture movement and the alleged perverse effect of the welfare state.
