Abstract: qualitative study with social-historical approach which objective is to understand the history of transformations from practice in care of the newborn and his family, since the implantation of the first neonatal icu in florianopolis. the study subjects were 13 health professionals working in the icu in the 1980s. for data collection oral history were used, realizing semi-structured interviews. data analysis was based on the foucaultian reference and the following four discursive groups: the neonatal icu giving new practices to newborns care, the health team's perception about the family in the icu neonatal: resistance to new knowledge, child's hospital as a reference for at risk newborn's care in santa catarina. the results of these researches allow to affirm that the implantation of neonatal icu influence the qualitative in the care of newborn and his family, with focus oriented for the survival of the newborn and the consequences of these experiences are still current nowadays.

Abstract: the purpose of this study is to describe the implantation process through the 1980's for the neonatal intensive care unit in florianopolis, santa catarina, brazil, as well as to present its relevance for at-risk newborn care. this is a qualitative research with a socio-historical approach. the context of the study was the joana de gusm?o children's hospital. those interviewed for this study were 13 health professionals who had a role in implanting the unit. the data was analyzed through theoretical reference. the results indicate that this unit represents a milestone in santa catarina neonatal intensive care and the professionals who contributed to the deployment and implementation of care there were fundamental to the institution of newborn care knowledge and practice. we conclude that the need for specialized care was the major propellant for the creation of the neonatal intensive care unit and the construction of professional newborn care knowledge.

Abstract: a qualitative research with a socio-historical approach. the aim is to understand how the established practices of the newborn intensive care units neonatal (icun) in florianopolis, brazil, in the 1980's. the study's context was the child's hospital joana de gusm?o. the interviewed for this research were health professionals that had a role in the icun implantation. data analysis was performed using the genealogical method proposed by foucault. four discursive groups were identified: many children won with that; it was learned how to care of newborns; a more scientific view to assistance was lacking; sensitive, humanized and individualized care. the establishment of a specific unit directed to the newborns resulted in a reduction in the neonatal mortality and scientific knowledge acquisition. the health professionals' speeches reveal that since the beginning of the icun, a concern with the sensible, humanized and individualized care with the newborn was present.

Abstract: Se trata de una investigación cualitativa, con abordaje socio-histórico, con el objetivo de describir el proceso de implantación de la unidad de cuidados intensivos neonatales en Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brzil en la década de 1980, y mostrar la importancia de esta unidad para el cuidado del recién nacido en riesgo. El contexto del estudio fue el Hospital Infantil Joana de Gusm o. Los sujetos de la investigación fueron 13 profesionales de salud que participaron de la implantación de la unidad. Para el análisis de los datos se empleó el método genealógico. Los resultados muestran que esta unidad representó un hito en el cuidado intensivo neonatal catarinense y los profesionales que contribuyeron en la implantación y puesta en práctica de la atención fueron fundamentales en la institución del saber y de las prácticas de cuidado al recién nacido. Se concluye que la necesidad de una atención especializada fue la gran propulsora del cuidado intensivo neonatal

Abstract: the objective of this documentary study was to reflect on the state of the art of nursing in brazil regarding care given to newborns in neonatal intensive care units (nicu). the data source used was the brazilian nursing association base of theses and dissertations. eighty-one studies were located. data analysis was performed in two stages: first, the study's characterization was performed; second, the material was organized according to data evident in the study, resulting in thematic categories: care centered on the newborn's physiological aspects; care provided to the family accompanying their newborn in the nicu; and the health team providing care to the newborn in the nicu. it was found that nursing research seeks new forms of care and brings theory closer to practice, thus guaranteeing its support of the nursing profession and contributing to the production of knowledge in neonatology.
O ensino de história da enfermagem nos cursos de gradua??o de Santa Catarina

Abstract: concerning to the idea that the nursing history education is fundamental to the development of students of graduation course and that the way this instruction is given determines if its content provides or not the adherence to this information, this research aims to establish a network with all nursing schools of santa catarina to determine a education diagnosis of nursing history education. this may be a subsidy for a policy creation to guide the curricular reformulation of this subject, in view of the state needs. the methodology is qualitative and the initial data collection identified, from 15 nursing schools of the state, the modus operandi of the subject development along the course. an initial analysis indicates that the educational and curricular strategies are varied, and there are interfaces between them. we note an advance related to the grade hours and to learning-education strategies, however the insertion of said content still needs a collective reflection about its importance on the courses curriculum.
A autonomia da enfermagem gerontológica no Brasil, segundo as pioneiras (1970-1996)

Abstract: in the context of current discussions on the division of labor in health, it is pertinent to reflect on the autonomy of nursing care to the elderly. this study aims to analyze the autonomy construction of professionals involved in gerontological nursing in brazil from 1970 to 1996. the study is descriptive and qualitative, with a socio-historical approach, that uses oral history and is performed with 14 nurses, pioneers in the area. the categories found after the analysis are: 1. constituents of autonomy in the gerontological nursing, and 2. evaluation of autonomy in gerontological nursing. the results bring the constituents of azautonomy as self knowledge, professional attitude, application of the care system and role of nursing delimitation in the multidisciplinary team. there is the recognition of room for autonomous performance in the area, however, consolidation is in construction process, intrinsically linked to the expertise and professional training that enables autonomous performance.
