Arquivos Internacionais de Otorrinolaringologia , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1809-48722011000200009
Abstract: introduction: the correlation of the auditive lost with buzz can be justified if we consider that this is a triggering buzz, once that the injury or internal ear degeneracy and of the vestibularcoclear can be the buzz generators. accordingly with the different reports 85% to 96% of patients with buzz show some degree or auditive lost. objective: to correlate the sex, age, degree and type of auditive lost with triggering produced by buzz's presence in the patients of clinica de dispositivos eletronicos aplicados à surdez.(clinic of eletronic dispositives related to deafness). method: retrospective study of exploratory nature in 100 individuals handbooks regularly matriculated in clinica de fonoaudiologia from faculdade de odontologia of bauru, universidade de s?o paulo fob/usp with the usage of thi instrument (tinnitus handicap inventory). results and conclusion : sex, age and also degree of auditive lost do not have influence over the triggering produced by the buzz, but the auditive lost occurrence in buzz potter is progressively major accordingly with age improvement and in individual with auditive lost from sensorioneural type.

Abstract: TEMA: satisfa o de usuários de aparelho de amplifica o sonora individual (AASI). BACKGROUND: user satisfaction on hearing aids (HA). PURPOSE: to ascertain the level of user satisfaction with hearing aids through the application of the questionnaire Satisfaction with Amplification in Daily Life (SADL) and performing a systematic review of articles selected for the study. Correlation Between the Audiologic Findings and Tinnitus Disorder
Mondelli, Maria Fernanda Capoani Garcia,Rocha, Alice Borges da
International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology , 2011,
Abstract: Introduction: The correlation between hearing loss with tinnitus can be justified if we consider that this is a tinnitus-causing factor, since the impairments or degenerations on the inner ear and the vestibulocochlear nerve can cause the tinnitus. According to different reports, 85%-96% of patients with tinnitus show some degree of hearing loss. Objective: To correlate the sex, age, degree and type of hearing loss with the tinnitus disorder in patients at the Electronic Devices-related Clinic of Deafness). Method: Retrospective study of exploratory nature in 100 individuals' records duly registered at the Phonoaudiology Clinic of University of S o Paulo's Dentistry School in Bauru FOB/USP, by using the THI instrument (Tinnitus Handicap Inventory). Results and Conclusion: Sex, age and degree of hearing loss do not have an influence over the tinnitus disorder, but the hearing loss in tinnitus listeners is progressively bigger according to age and in individual with neurosensorial hearing loss.

José, Maria Renata;Campos, Patrícia Danieli;Mondelli, Maria Fernanda Capoani Garcia;
Brazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1808-86942011000200012
Abstract: a unilateral hearing loss is characterized by reduced hearing in one ear. the problems caused by sensory deprivation can be minimized with the use of hearing aids (ha). aim: to analyze the correlation between the prescribed grain and the insertion gain difference and with the results obtained regarding the benefit and satisfaction with the use of hearing aids in unilateral hearing impaired patients. materials and methods: prospective study with 15 subjects, mean age of 41.6 years, of both genders, users of hearing aids effectively. we used the international questionnaire results for hearing aids (international outcome inventory for hearing aids - ioi-ha), measured with a probe microphone. results: the mean values in the analyses of the ioi-ha per item were positive and higher than four points. in relation to the objective measures, the frequencies in which we obtained the gain values which were closer to the target were: 1k hz, 2k hz and 500 hz, respectively. conclusion: the satisfaction of individuals using hearing aid unilaterally is not completely correlated to the prescribed gain, because even if the target is not being reached in some frequencies, the individuals were pleased as to the use of their hearing aids.

Abstract: introduction: the attention is an underlying neuropsychology function to all the cognitive processes. the auditory deficiency compromises the normal development of the child, modifying diverse auditory abilities, including the attention. objective: to compare the performance of children in the test of the ability of auditory attention support, as for the different forms of application (auricular phones and free field), sort and, application order. method: 40 children (7 years old) voluntary with typical development had participated, divided in two groups: g1 and g2, composites of 20 children each. the application of the thaas in the g1 if gave first with auricular phones and after that in free field and the g2 the process was inverse. the evaluation consisted in: specific questionnaire, auditory tests and application of the thaas. results: it did not have significant difference how much to the sort. for the thaas with phones, the g1 presented greater amount of errors of carelessness and total punctuation. for the thaas in field it had a significant difference of the g2 for the monitoring decrease. how much to the application form, the g1 demonstrated a bigger number of errors when it was used phones. the g2 did not demonstrate difference. conclusion: it had viability in the application of the thaas in free field, being able to be adopted the same used normative values for the conventional way of evaluation.
