Dependência química e trabalho: uso funcional e disfuncional de drogas nos contextos laborais
Lima, Maria Elizabeth Antunes;
Revista Brasileira de Saúde Ocupacional , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0303-76572010000200008
Abstract: the theme of this article is drug use in work context, and the objective is to analyze it from continuous use that does not bring severe consequences to the user to use that leads to his/her addiction. based on literature review concerning this subject, a reflexion is proposed, which, among other aspects, includes a classification of drug intake in functional and dysfunctional manners. in the first, drug is used as a "work tool" and it does not prevent work from being accomplished; in the second, there is a change of the drug consumption pattern that deeply affects professional performance. while transitioning from functional to dysfunctional uses, drug transforms from a means to an end to the end itself. however, even in functional use, the users' relationship with their activities can be basically adaptive (although this might not occur to most of them), and therefore, it cannot be considered healthy.

álvares,Tatiana Teixeira; Lima,Maria Elizabeth Antunes;
Ciência & Saúde Coletiva , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-81232010000300023
Abstract: two groups of patients, one presenting symptoms of fibromyalgia and previous diagnostics of rsi (repetitive strain injury), and the other only with fibromyalgia were compared in attempt to comprehend the relations between these two conditions and also between fibromyalgia and work. it was used the biographical method, with detailed interviews and creation of clinical cases from six patients with fibromyalgia, three of each group. it was noticed that patients from the first group showed a clear relationship between the disease's evolution and the overload of work. the patients of second group showed some of the symptoms since childhood or adolescence that became worse after they had suffered an emotionally strong impact. also, these patients reported cases of similar symptoms of fibromyalgia in their families, on the contrary of the first group. it was conclude that in some patients with fibromyalgia, the overload work is an important etiologic factor, and could be preceded by rsi. in these cases the diagnosis of fibromyalgia could be used as an attempt of disassociate the relation between symptoms and the work, preventing the worker to get social security benefits.
E se o assédio n?o fosse moral?: perspectivas de análise de conflitos interpessoais em situa??es de trabalho
Vieira, Carlos Eduardo Carrusca;Lima, Francisco de Paula Antunes;Lima, Maria Elizabeth Antunes;
Revista Brasileira de Saúde Ocupacional , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0303-76572012000200007
Abstract: discussion on bullying at work intensified in europe in the late 20th century, after studies carried out by heinz leyman, in sweden, and by marie-france hirigoyen, in france. they were focused on conceptualizing bullying at work, identifying its causes, usual occurrence patterns, and its effects on workers' health. however, the debates have not converged on determinant factors of bullying at work, and doubt still remains over its real causes and the right way to confront it. in this essay, which empirical basis was derived from previous studies on security guards, we critically discuss the perspectives traditionally adopted when bullying at work is analyzed, and the most common proposals in facing it. we also point to their limitations, when bullying at work is explained essentially as an event of a moral and psychological nature. opposed to these common proposals, we suggest adopting approaches which are grounded on work, and which evidence the perversity of the current management patterns.
Physico-chemical and harvest time alterations in pineapple fruits ?Smooth Cayenne? caused by paclobutrazol
Antunes, Andréa Maria;Ono, Elizabeth Orika;Sampaio, Aloísio Costa;Rodrigues, Jo?o Domingos;
Brazilian Archives of Biology and Technology , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-89132008000100003
Abstract: the aim of this work was to assess the effect of an inhibitor acting in the floral differentiation on the physico-chemical characteristics of pineapple fruits and on the effect in the harvest time. paclobutrazol was used at concentrations of 100, 150, and 200 mg l-1, applied 2, 3 or 4 times in ?smooth cayenne? pineapple plants. the treatment did not influence the chemical characteristics of the fruits, and even having some physical alterations, they were within the quality standard for the commercialization. the harvest time was amplified in all the treatments comparing to the control. however, 150 mg l-1 applied twice promoted the best result when analyzing together the harvest time and the fruit fresh matter.
Uso de reguladores vegetais na conserva??o refrigerada de acerolas (Malpighia glabra L.)
Antunes, Andréa Maria;Valmórbida, Janice;Ono, Elizabeth Orika;Rodrigues, Jo?o Domingos;
Ciência e Agrotecnologia , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-70542006000600031
Abstract: with the objective of preserving the physicochemical characteristics from green stage harvested of acerola fruits (malpighia glabra l.), these were submitted to the following 30-minute immersion treatments: control (water), 50mg l-1 ga3, 100mg l-1 ga3, 50mg l-1 bap (benzylaminopurine), and 100mg l-1 bap. after treatment, the fruits were air-dried in a cool place and then packaged in styrofoam trays wrapped with polyethylene film, and stored in a bod incubator at 8°c for 14 days. evaluations were performed at 4 days intervals. the fruits were evaluated for coloration, soluble solids content, trituratable acidity, and ascorbic acid content. the analysis of the results showed that the application of plant growth regulators did not have effect in the increase of the refrigerated conservation of acerola fruits and that only the cooling was enough to conserve its for 14 days.
Efeito do Paclobutrazol no controle da diferencia??o floral natural do abacaxizeiro cv. Smooth Cayenne
Antunes, Andréa Maria;Ono, Elizabeth Orika;Sampaio, Aloísio Costa;
Revista Brasileira de Fruticultura , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-29452008000200004
Abstract: the pineapple plant is a plant of great economical importance, however, its natural flowering causes serious problems, turning it difficult to manage it due to the fruit and harvest irregularity, elevating the production's cost. the objective of this work was to manipulate the pineapple flowering contributing indeed for a more uniform production on the market, during the months of lower offer. the paclobutrazol was used in pineapple plants cv. smooth cayenne at concentrations of 100; 150 and 200 mg l-1 and applied in 2, 3 or 4 times, in presidente alves-sp. the experimental design was randomized blocks with 10 treatments and three replications, each experimental portion of 40 plants. in the period of 100 to 150 days after the first application of the treatments, the number of inflorescences present in the center of the plants were counted each week. all of the treatments involving paclobutrazol were able to inhibit pineapple natural floral differentiation. the product is recommended to be used at a concentration of 150 mg l-1, applied twice, with a fifteen-day interval between applications, beginning in april.
