A inclus?o de catadores em programas de coleta seletiva: da agenda local à nacional
Pereira, Maria Cecília Gomes;Teixeira, Marco Antonio Carvalho;
Cadernos EBAPE.BR , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1679-39512011000300011
Abstract: this article aims to discuss the issue of social and productive inclusion of collectors of recyclable materials, present previously only in local public policy agendas and that has now reached the national governmental agenda. the theoretical discussion is based on kingdon′s (1995) multiple streams theory, highlighting its limitations in the analysis of the phenomenon under study. the methodological procedures used were: bibliographical review, participative observation in events for collectors secondary data collection, spontaneous conversations and semi-structured interviews. we observed that to a certain extent there was a junction of kingdon′s (1995) three streams: a problem gained public recognition, a political environment favorable to the emergence of issues such as this agenda, and a viable alternative to the problem presented itself - the inclusion of collectors in solid waste selective collection programs -, which do not respond completely to the dimensions of the problem. civil society organizations played an essential role in this process. however, the multiple streams model does not conceive of a "bottom-up" agenda setting process, nor does it consider the influence of extra-institutional actors, such as civil society organizations, on the agenda setting process. as such, the model is unable to explain the complex relations between the state and civil society in brazilian reality.
Proliferative effect of the aqueous extract of Hyptis pectinata on liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy in rats

Acta Cirurgica Brasileira , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-86502006000700008
Abstract: purpose: this study was carried out to assess the effects of the aqueous extract of hyptis pectinata leaves on liver regeneration and on serum enzymes (ast, alt and g-gt) after 67% partial hepatectomy in rats. methods: ast, alt and g-gt, were determined by conventional procedures using a spectrophotometer (model e2250-celm). liver regeneration was evaluated by immunohistochemical staining for proliferating cell nuclear antigen (pcna). results:oral pretreatment during 4 days at 100 mg/kg increased liver regeneration index. at 200 mg/kg, ast level was statistically decreased in comparison to the group submited to distilled water administration. the other enzymes assessed disclosed no difference when all groups were compared. conclusion: the present study shows that the aqueous extract of hyptis pectinata leaves contains some biological active principles that stimulate liver regeneration at 100 mg/kg and cause slight hepatic protection at 200 mg/kg.
Organizational Learning of Controllers and Controlled Agencies: Innovations and Challenges in Promoting Accountability in the Recent Brazilian Democracy  [PDF]
Cecília Olivieri, Marco Antonio Carvalho Teixeira, Maria Rita Loureiro, Fernando Abrucio
American Journal of Industrial and Business Management (AJIBM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ajibm.2013.36A006
Abstract: This paper analyzes a case of organizational learning in the Ministry of Social Development and Fight against Hunger. This organizational learning process was generated from demands that were external to the organization and it was possible thanks to the way in which Ministry’s departments interacted with the governmental internal control agency (Office of the Comptroller General), and thanks to the Ministry’s specific conditions, both organizational and contingent. This paper demonstrates that building dialogue in the process of auditing and inspection led to improvement in the control process and also in public policy management. Both the Office of the Comptroller General and the Ministry of Social Development underwent learning processes. Office’s analysts needed to learn the working and implementation logic of a new policy in social development area (the Unified Social Welfare System), and the Ministry employees needed to produce rules and administrative procedures to support the inspection, as well as review concepts and procedures involved in Ministry’s relationship with municipalities.
De onde somos e para onde vamos?: Um olhar pós-moderno em Lost
Gomes-Thimóteo,Lucas; Borges-Teixeira,Níncia Cecília Ribas;
Palabra Clave , 2012,
Abstract: this article analyzes the television series lost from two perspectives. the first characterizes its structure as a transmedia narrative, a format resulting from convergence culture, emerging in our time with the mass content and media that surrounds us. this means that the various existing texts needed for the performance of the viewer, to work and thus create new meanings. in addition, some elements in the series are correlated to issues raised by postmodernity; in that way, proposing to demonstrate how the narrative presented reproduces situations of reality in their fiction, which provides a post-modernist subject identification with the series.
In search for the lost identity: a post-modern look at Lost
Lucas Gomes Thimóteo,Níncia Cecília Ribas Borges Teixeira
Verso e Reverso , 2012,
Abstract: This study discusses the American television show Lost, in order to establish a relationship among technological advances, media and con guration of the contemporary subject, based on phenomenon of convergence as a possibility that integrates and modi es the subject. The analysis focuses on two moments. The rst characterizes its structure as a transmedia narrative, resulting in a format called convergence culture, that emerges nowadays with the mass of content and media that surround us. In the second moment, some elements are observed in the series that are correlated to themes addressed by postmodernity. Thus we intend to demonstrate how the narrative presented portrays situations of reality in ction, providing an identi cation of the post-modern subject with the show.
Investigation of sintered cobalt-zinc ferrite synthesized by coprecipitation at different temperatures: a relation between microstructure and hysteresis curves
Teixeira, Ana Maria Rangel de Figueiredo;Ogasawara, Tsuneharu;Nóbrega, Maria Cecília de Souza;
Materials Research , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-14392006000300003
Abstract: the magnetic properties of sintered samples of cobalt-zinc ferrites produced from the corresponding coprecipitate were calculated based on hysteresis curves (hc). the hc values confirmed that soft ferrites were obtained by the procedure. a possible relation between the magnetic hysteresis curves and the microstructure of the sintered samples was investigated. x ray diffraction, thermal analysis and scanning electron microscopy were used to characterize the microstructure and the phases present in the sintered ceramic pieces, as well as those of their coprecipitated tri-metallic hydroxide precursor powders. it was found that sintering of co0.5zn0.5fe2o4 at 1400 °c led to "honeycombing" of the ferrite grains and that there was no single phase in the microstructure of a sample sintered at 1400 °c. thus, a more complete study was made of the behavior of the microstructure at lower sintering temperatures, i.e., in the 1100-1350 °c range.

Cadernos CEDES , 1998,
