Abstract: A supera o da lacuna entre o conhecimento estabelecido e sistematizado em diretrizes clínicas e a prática dos servi os de saúde é um desafio para a qualidade do cuidado. Diretrizes clínicas s o ferramentas que sistematizam a evidência científica, auxiliando a identificar aquelas relevantes ao cuidado apropriado. Diversas estratégias para ampliar o uso de diretrizes clínicas foram identificadas na literatura: distribui o de material educacional; encontros para a capacita o; revis o das práticas; visita de especialistas; e lembretes. A análise de tais estratégias na perspectiva dos gestores de UTIN foi o objeto do estudo, desenvolvido em UTIN públicas através da aplica o de questionário semiestruturado com 53 chefias (médica e de enfermagem). Os entrevistados relataram a utiliza o concomitante de várias atividades/estratégias, concordando com posicionamentos da literatura. Cerca de 40% dos chefes consideraram que a distribui o de material escrito incentiva a ades o dos profissionais. A maioria dos gestores relatou que utiliza frequentemente as reuni es para discuss o de diretrizes clínicas, sendo esta uma atividade recomendada por mais de 95% deles. No contexto estudado, verificou-se que as estratégias para ampliar a dissemina o do conhecimento dependem dos próprios profissionais e servi os, n o havendo apoio institucional formal para seu financiamento, o que reduz a consistência de seu uso. Overcoming the gap between the established and systematized knowledge in clinical guidelines and practice of health services is a challenge to the quality of care. Clinical guidelines are tools that systematize the scientific evidence, helping to identify those relevant to the proper care. Several strategies to expand the use of clinical guidelines were identified in the literature: distribution of educational materials; meetings for training; review of practices; visits of experts; and reminders. The analysis of such strategies from the perspective of NICU managers was the object of study, developed in public NICU's through the application of semi-structured questionnaire with 53 managers (medical and nursing). Respondents reported the concomitant use of various activities / strategies, agreeing with placements in the literature. About 40% of heads felt that the distribution of written material encourages professional adhesion. Most managers reported that often uses the meetings to discuss clinical guidelines, which is a recommended activity for more than 95% of them. Trevizan, Maria Auxiliadora;Mendes, Isabel Amélia Costa;Hayashida, Miyeko;Godoy, Simone de;Nogueira, Maria Suely;
Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da USP , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0080-62342009000300031
Abstract: historically, nurses' management functions have evidenced that their conduct is compatible with programmatic commitments. this fact was observed in the analysis of 18 studies carried out in healthcare services located in different brazilian regions. since the 1990's, management experts have alerted that traits such as commitment, interdisciplinarity, risk, uncertainty, spirituality, and ethical involvement will frame the characteristics of the human capital of 21st century organizations. in this much more humane environment, people's integrity and their way of relating at work must be based on the dimension of being. in order to face the new century institutions' healthcare demands, nurses are now urged to present a conduct permeated by the ethics of the attitudinal commitment. thus, this study aims to stimulate a critical reflection on this ethical trend of nurses and finally propose that this trend be an essential value in nursing management processes.

Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-11692002000500012
Abstract: informed management presupposes that all individuals will prioritize a taming and determined conduct in detriment of a passive one. it also presupposes deep concern about issues related to the human species, ethical problems, the relationship with nature and, finally, about men's future. in this way, the authors, based on the assumptions underlying the policies of informed management proposed by maslow, aim at focusing on this type of management in nurses' work. they believe that, by means of such reflection, nurses will be able to incorporate new values which are more harmonized with human nature.

Trevizan, Maria Auxiliadora;Mendes, Isabel Amélia Costa;Louren?o, Maria Regina;Shinyashiki, Gilberto Tadeu;
Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-11692002000100013
Abstract: aiming at addressing the ethical aspects concerning nurses' managerial activities, the authors of this work referred to etzioni(1) and adopted a hospital classification as a reference of organization in which consent is based on the internalization of rules accepted as legitimate. regarding patients, their need to adapt to medical behavior and hospital rules through internalization is considered to be a result of physicians', nurses' and the hospital's power. however, the authors view that such internalization is naive, without consent, especially by taking into account that most brazilian patients do not know that they should or should not consent and are used to obeying. thus, the work focused on nurses' managerial actions, indicating that they must be based on professional values, the nursing ethical code as well as on the rights of hospitalized patients, thus integrating qualified care guided by respect, free consent and promotion of patients as the protagonists and subjects of care.
