Abstract: the article offers an overview of educational policies in lula's both terms as president (2003-2010). a brief diagnosis of the educational system in 2002 is proposed, followed by analysis of the first (2003-2006) and second (2007-2010) terms, when the national plan for education is established.

Abstract: this paper consists of a study on the establishment of the history subject in the state of parana, brazil. it examines the structure of this disciplinary field along the path of the assertion of the secondary school in the political and cultural context of the former province of parana during the mid-19th century. the configuration of history teaching is analyzed through the textbooks adopted at that time and considers its implications for the development of an intellectual elite, that was being prepared, by means of the secondary courses, to take positions in the state bureaucracy during the period in which brazilian society transited from the empire to the republic as a form of government.

Abstract: this review focuses on conceptual aspects of barrett's esophagus and barrett's related dysplasia and highlights current diagnostic problems on the interpretation of these lesions. barrett's esophagus results from longstanding gastroesophageal reflux. endoscopically it is recognized by the presence of glandular mucosa in the tubular esophagus above the esophagogastric junction at variable lenghts. histologically it is characterized by the presence of specialized columnar epithelium with globet cells expressed as intestinal metaplasia. the importance of barret's esophagus is the risk for developing adenocarcinoma. dysplasia is the main biomarker for the progression to adenocarcinoma. the pathologic diagnosis of barrett's esophagus should contain information on the presence and grade of dysplasia. distinguishing betweeen dysplasia and regenerative changes in the face of active inflammation may be difficult. correct interpretation and grading of dysplasia is an important goal for pathologists, since it is a major factor on follow-up and treatment of the patients.

Abstract: this paper consisted of a review of the most important theoretical views about the mother child relationship on the conceptual approaches and their possible effects on methodology. empirical data resulted from research on the area have shown that: (1) the mother is an effective facilitator on a set of domains of infant's development, with focus on the "states organization", sensorial-perceptual capacities and cognition; (2) characteristics of infant and mother as interactive agents - mutuality - aiming to promote harmonic and synchronic relationship between the dyad are present on early social development.

Abstract: this article discusses some poetic works of ivan goll, published in german, french and english, in which the cosmopolitan appeal to a supranational poetry represented a marginal cry of resistance against the totalizing tendencies and categories of the first half of the twentieth century. it seeks to understand if such cry can be related to contemporary reflections on literary genre and multiple art forms, as well as if goll can be thought of as a 'transgender' artist. it also remarks that brazilian modernist mário de andrade not only followed the dispute between goll and breton concerning the inheritance of the concept surréalisme from apollinaire's legacy, but also exchanged letters and books with the alsacian poet, enthusiastically praising the anthology les cinq continents. finally, this article presents a translation of two poems related with the cosmopolitan notion: "o negro do teatro de variedades" and "a can??o de jo?o sem-terra, o duplo".

Abstract: at first sight, family and community coexistence as a legal right for children and adolescents seems quite abstract, although it occupies a common place. society easily accepts that every child has the right to be born and raised within a healthy, protective and safe home. however, social and personal vulnerability force many children to leave their families and live in foster homes or shelters, as a protective measure. the main goal of this paper is to analyze the challenges and transformations needed in order to enforce children and adolescents' rights, in compliance with the national plan for social devel opment, protection and defense of the rights of children and adolescents to family and community coexistence and other previous laws (1998 brazilian federal constitution and law n. 8069/90 children and teenager's statute), by approaching the main aspects involving the responsibilities of brazilian social policies, with an emphasis on public education.

Abstract: the constitution of a specific and differentiated school education by brazilian indigenous peoples has become more intensive in the last decades. concerned about their cosmology and contrary to the introduction of western instruments in their traditional way of life, the guarani have historically been against school. nowadays, some of their villages look for it as a way to provide themselves with tools to understand the "white man?s world" and gain access to the necessary knowledge to have a more symmetrical interaction with the non-indigenous society. the reflection proposed in this text approaches school enrollment processes and pinpoints ways of appropriation that occur in the guarani village schools, in the state of rio grande do sul, through school practices that aim to constitute their own way of teaching in a dialogue with the principles that make up the traditional education and cosmology of this people.

Abstract: the article suggests social inclusion via the market and especially via pension funds in the lula administration. it shows how the dialogue between government, trade unions, union confederations, and the financial market reveals a convergence of interests among the above-mentioned actors, expressed in various symbolic/discursive actions in the financial market. the argument is that social inclusion policy via the market translates the project of "domestication and/or moralization" of capitalism as defended and practiced by the brazilian workers' party (pt). the article uses empirical material collected from the brazilian press, specialized journals, representative agencies from the private pension sector, and interviews with brazilian trade union leaders and members of the lula administration.
