A Literature Review on Teachers’ Emotional Labor  [PDF]

Abstract: In view of the teachers’ professional characteristics, teachers are rated as high emotional workers. By reviewing the literatures of Chinese and foreign teachers’ emotional labor research, this paper sums up four aspects about teachers’ emotional labor: the definition of the concept of emotional labor, teacher’s emotional display rules, teachers’ emotional labor strategies and the antecedents and the consequences of teachers’ emotional labor and also discusses the shortage of contemporary studies about teachers’ emotional labor tentatively.

Abstract: Experiential purchases refer to the purchase aiming to get life experience, while material purchases define the purchase made to acquire material possession. Both purchase types have different effects on happiness for the individual and experiential purchases which can make people feel happier and more joyful than material purchase. The reasons exist in the following five areas: firstly, as improved over time, experience is becoming better and better; secondly, experience has closer links with itself; what’s more, experiential purchase, instead of material purchase, will not arouse social comparison; fourthly, experience can meet the basic psychological needs of people, especially the relationship needs; last but not least, experience is easy to share.

Abstract: Creativity has been regarded as a positive force to promote the development of individuals, organizations and society. However, creativity also has a hidden dark side. In recent years, re-searchers have proposed the concept of the dark side of creativity and vicious creativity, and the concept focuses on the relationship between creativity and dishonesty. The article combed the researchers on the study of the relationship between creativity and dishonest behavior, creativity by improving individual defending their actions to increase the ability of the dishonest behavior of the individual in a dilemma situation.

Abstract: As an extension concept of LMX, relative leader-member exchange (RLMX) refers to actual level of one’s own LMX quality as compared with the average LMX within the team. This paper distinguishes the definition of RLMX from related constructs, introduces RLMX’s measurement and concludes outcome variables of RLMX which include voice behavior, affective commitment, psychological contract, self-efficacy, etc. At last, we point out the directions of future researches.

Abstract: In this paper, we explore the influence mechanism of compulsory citizenship behavior. The article explores the relationship between organizational justice and compulsory citizenship behavior in the view of social exchange theory. With regression analysis of 260 samples, we find that organizational justice has a significant effect on compulsory citizenship behavior. Meanwhile, psychological security plays a part in mediating the effect.

Abstract: Sleepiness at workplace, the biological drive to sleep, has a highly negative impact on employees' working behavior in organizations. Recently, this phenomenon has attached more and more attention in the management filed; and it has attracted much attention of researchers from other fields, such as management and psychology. By reviewing and analyzing the previous studies, this paper clarifies the concepts of sleepiness in the workplace, and then delineates the causes and effects of sleepiness in the workplace. Through the organizational understanding of the relevant causes of sleepiness, some intervention measures which can mitigate companies’ sleepiness situation will be put forward. Finally, the paper has an outlook about the future researches of sleepiness at workplace.

Abstract: In the ever-competitive global business environment, companies may fail to adapt to the environment due to crisis. In this situation, companies call for self-sacrificing leaders to help companies get out of the woods. Self-sacrificing leadership is a spirit or behavior manifesting the leader’s willingness to take on various kinds of risks and losses for the sake of the benefits of the whole organization and the subordinates. We explored the dimension and measurement methods, In order to clarify the nature of self-sacrificing leadership and the theoretical boundary with other leadership, we make a comparison of self-sacrificing leadership and other leadership. Future research can strengthen the study on the concept, measurement methods of self-sacrificing leadership.

Abstract: The responsible leadership has gained considerable attention in contemporary management scholarship. As a new leadership theory, responsible leadership transcends traditional dyadic leader-subordinate relationship, and focuses on a full-range view of leader-stakeholder relationship, which can effectively deal with new challenges from all sectors of society. In this paper, we first provide an overview of the conception, structure, and measurement of responsible leadership. Besides, we analyze and conclude the antecedents and consequences of responsible leadership. Finally, we put forward some suggestions about future research in this field.
