Sobre la pertinencia de las categorías culturales en la elaboración de las Representaciones de los Nuevos Movimientos Sociales
Castro, Manuel Cárdenas;López, Roberto Rodríguez;
Psicologia & Sociedade , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-71822007000300012
Abstract: this paper presents a study of the social representations on the anti-globalization movement (agm) elaborated from a sample of spanish workers. a method of free association of words as stimuli and an image of movement survey (that takes the form of a semantic differential) were used for the analysis of these representations. the results obtained by free association of words were analyzed by multivariated methods (hierarchical cluster analysis, multidimensional scaling and correspondences analysis). the results on the image survey were summarized in seven principal factors. the averages of these factors were compared according to the criterion of political self-categorization. the principal effect observed was a rejection, from a part of the subjects of the sample, in using the cultural categories that in other studies appeared as the most pertinent fo the elaboration of social representations about the anti-globalization movement (amg).

Abstract: This paper addresses the most important features of health economics, especially its scope and applications within the sphere of health. Health economics is a field of study which allows countries to gear their health policies toward making more rational use of their resources and expanding and improving their health care services. Such policies should, on the other hand, aim to generate strategies for adequately managing human, technical, economic, and financial resources so as to reap the finest health benefits possible. A knowledge of how economics can be applied to health will enable health professionals to introduce an economics culture into their daily work. In other words, it will allow them to keep in mind the scope of their various working toolsfraction three-quartershealth planning, national health accounts and accounting, and economic assessment methods, which include health and pharmaceutical technology assessment and pharmacoeconomicsfraction three-quartersas well as the place that economics has in health research. Hopefully, a knowledge of these aspects of economic analysis will provide decision-makers with one more tool they can apply in selecting more efficient options and attaining the highest health benefits at the lowest possible cost for the national health system.

Interciencia , 2009,
Abstract: the sugarcane (saccharum officinarum l.) resistance to leaf scald has been studied without consideration of the percentage of damage to the vascular system. in the present study the occlusion of vascular bundles in the basal and apical parts of the sugarcane stalk was analyzed to evaluate the resistance to xanthomonas albilineans (xa). the susceptible sugarcane variety mex 64-1487 and the resistant variety co 997 were used under a randomized design with four replications. inoculation was carried out by injection in the middle of the stalk of 3 month old plants, using 3ml of a 2x105ufc/ml bacterial suspension or sterile water. the sampling was done at 0, 30, 60, 110 and 213 days after the inoculation, cutting two stalks by replication. in each plant two nodes from the basal part and two from the apical part were sampled and kept in a formaldehide-alcohol-acetic acid solution, to determine occlusion with a complete randomized design in factorial composition 23 with three replications. the xa diagnosis was done employing bio-pcr (bacterial cells in the pcr) and pgbl1 and pgbl2 dna specific primers for xa. the percentage of vascular bundle occlusion was larger in the basal part of the stalk in both varieties (p£0,05). the determination of the vascular bundle occlusion allowed a correct evaluation of the resistance of both mex 64-1487 and co 997 (p£0,05), analyzing the lower basal part of the stalk.
Escrutinio público de propuestas de candidatos durante la campa?a presidencial de 2006
López, Alejandro;Cárdenas, Enrique;
Política y gobierno , 2009,
Abstract: 2006 was the first election for president in mexico that took place under an administration that was not controlled by the pri, and these elections were characterized by a hard-fought competition and the strong presence of the candidates in mass media. three citizens' organizations, dialogues for mexico, citizens' magnifying glass, and evaluate and decide stood out because they tried to limit the tendency of the candidates and parties to exaggerate their electoral promises. the proposed initiatives of these groups included first, reducing the negative consequences of sloppy party platforms (improvisation); and second, offering information that would promote a more reasoned decision on the part of the voter by following through on the electoral promises so that they could answer questions such as, "are these solid proposals? did they improve?" the objective of this project is to allow citizens and political actors to evaluate the performance of elected officials in the next elections. because of this experience and by examining the initiatives to be able to influence general policies, these citizen-based groups were able to present suggestions for civic organizations to monitor more effectively representative institutions in mexico.

Revista Facultad de Ciencias Económicas: Investigación y Reflexión , 2009,
Abstract: one of the main problems of colombia since the end of xxth century has been illegal drug trafficking of cocaine to the united states and the rest of the world. this has led to devastating consequences for colombian population, such as maintenance of armed conflict and forced displacement. the coca eradication has been made through the implementation of different methods, but unfortunately, none of them has been totally effective. at this point, it is essential to outline the importance of colombian supply over foreign demand of cocaine, considering that, in order to provide a solution from the inside of the country, the determinants which affect supply of cocaine to the united states must be clear. therefore, the objective of this document is to study and analyze the characteristics of cocaine market between colombia and the united states due to its importance in social, economic and environmental issues in colombia.
