On Semi π-Regular Local Ring  [PDF]

Abstract:
A ring R is said to be a right (left) semi π-regular local ring if and only if for all a in R, either a or (1-a) is a right (left) semi π-regular element. The purpose of this paper is to give some characterization and properties of semi π-regular local rings, and to study the relation between semi π-regular local rings and local rings. From the main results of this work: 1) Let R be a semi π-regular reduced ring. Then the idempotent associated element is unique. 2) Let R be a ring. Then R is a right semi π-regular local ring if and only if either r(an) or r((1-a)n) is direct summand for all aR and nZ . If R is a local ring with r(anr(a) for all aR and nZ , then R is a right semi π-regular local ring.
Epidemiological review of human and animal fascioliasis in Egypt

Abstract: One of the neglected food-borne-diseases in the international public health arena is fascioliasis. It is a serious infectious parasitic disease infecting humans and animals worldwide and tops all the zoonotic helminthes. Human cases are being increasingly reported from Europe, the Americas, Oceania, Africa and Asia. Hence, human fascioliasis is considered now as a zoonosis of major global and regional importance. In Egypt, animal and human fascioliasis is an endemic clinical and epidemiological health problem. Doubtless, understanding the epidemiology of the parasitic diseases and factors affecting their incidence provides the foundation upon which effective prevention and control programs should be established. This article reviews the history, life cycles, transmission, incidence, geographical distribution, and environmental and human determinants that contribute to the epidemiological picture of fascioliasis with special reference to Egypt.
Diversion Radiometer Data for Water Vapor Direction Delay

Abstract: The radiometers for probing water vapor, temperature and cloud liquid water do not show the highaccuracy and stability which is needed for some applicationslike turbulent weather conditions. The Form of direction delayfrom atmospheric water vapor is a main error source ingeodetic measurements made with VLBI. A dual channelwater vapor radiometer, operating near the 22GHz watervapor line , and measuring water vapor-induced delay withgood conditions. Theory shows that water vapor directiondelay ΔLV is related to a linear combination of saturation corrected sky brightness temperatures, measured the watervapor line. Sky brightness temperatures are saturationcorrectedor "linearized" using estimates of effective skytemperature made from surface temperature. A systematicmethod for reducing dual-frequency water vapor radiometerdata to water vapor path delay has been developed Coefficients are found from a regression of theoreticalbrightness temperatures versus radiosonde measured delay.Regression solutions are constrained to remove liquid watercontributions and to give the correct slope for radiometerversus radiosonde path delay.
Mathematical Modelling of the Electrode Process of Azithromycin Using Cyclic Voltammetry at Hanging Mercury Drop Electrode

Abstract: A theoretical treatment is presented to predict the kinetic behaviour of azithromycin at the surface of hanging mercury drop electrode using cyclic voltammetry. A model is developed to incorporate the occurrence of adsorption of the oxidized and reduced species of azithromycin at the surface of mercury drop electrode. An analytical solution was obtained using MATHEMATICA (V-3, Wolfram Research, Inc.) to predict the cyclic voltammetric profiles by calculating the currents resulting after applying variable potentials ranging –1.9 to –1.3 V versus Ag/AgCl. Simulation runs at different initial concentrations of azithromycin and different scan rates showed good agreement with experimental findings. However, this model should be modified to describe a multilayer adsorption with irreversible electrochemical reaction.
Religious Dimensions of Classical and Contemporary Islamic Art  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper focuses on the work of Egyptian Islamic contemporary artist Ehab Mamdouh who grew up in Saudi Arabia, then moved to Cairo, where he was exposed to religious, historical concepts and art forms, then came back to work in Saudi Arabia to observe the societal struggle raging between traditional and emergent concepts, and the influence of Islam and ideology thereon. The artist conveys a fundamental tenet of Islam, embodied by the five daily calls to prayer, replete with attributes borrowed from classical Islamic art but infused with the contemporaneity of modern art—all in the context of contemporary Islamic art. In Moqeem, Mamdouh replaces the abstract geometric elements of classical Islamic art with an abstract portrayal of the praying worshipper. Mamdouh’s artistic style merges the Islamic milieu of the artist’s upbringing in Saudi Arabia and Egypt with his deep knowledge of the region’s history and architectural heritage. Moqeem is a “veiled” extension of Islamic art, in accordance with the standards by which the latter was classified in the past, yet it is shaped by the cultural development of our society and by the intellectual growth that the artist experienced on an individual level. Through this work, Mamdouh incites us to think and wonder—the true mark of a successful visual artist today.
The exp(-j(x)) Method and Its Applications for Solving Some Nonlinear Evolution Equations in Mathematical Physics  [PDF]

Abstract:

The ?exp(-j(x))?method is employed to find the exact traveling wave solutions involving parameters for nonlinear evolution equations. When these parameters are taken to be special values, the solitary wave solutions are derived from the exact traveling wave solutions. It is shown that the ?exp(-j(x))??method provides an effective and a more powerful mathematical tool for solving nonlinear evolution equations in mathematical physics. Comparison between our results and the well-known results will be presented.

Improved synchronization, channel estimation, and simplified LDPC decoding for the physical layer of the DVB-T2 receiver

Abstract: The newly developed 2nd generation standard for digital video broadcasting (DVB-T2) emerges as a significant upgrade over its first generation predecessor DVB-T. The DVB-T2 standard targets an increased system throughput by at least 30% over the DVB-T. This article introduces algorithms in the signal processing chain to improve the mobile operation for DVB-T2. The proposed modified synchronization blocks, along with the improved channel estimation, show significant improvement compared to the results reported in the DVB-T2 implementation guide. In addition, state-of-the-art low-complexity algorithms in the bit processing chain, particularly in the LDPC decoder, are used to provide robustness and support throughput increase, while reducing the implementation complexity. The integrated system is simulated including implementation effects. The simulation results confirm the enhanced performance of the developed integrated model and provide better results compared to those reported in literature.
Evaluation of the Protective Effect of Two Antioxidative Agents in Mice Experimentally Infected with Schistosoma mansoni: Haematological and Histopathological Aspects

Abstract: The effect of antioxidative agents, Nigella sativa oil and melatonin, in protection against the oxidative processes induced by schistosomiasis was studied on haematological parameters, granuloma formation and tissue reaction of liver, intestine and kidney of mice experimentally infected with Schistosoma mansoni. N. sativa oil (1.14 g kg-1 orally) or melatonin (3.55 mg kg-1 i.p.) was administrated daily for 30 days starting from 1st day of infection. Haematological results revealed that treatment with melatonin and N. Sativa oil caused significant decrease in total leukocyte count while, RBCs, Hb content and PCV were increased significantly with N. sativa- treatment as compared with infected and melatonin-treated group. Morphometeric and histopathological findings of liver revealed a modulation in the pathological profile of schistosomiasis by reducing the severity of histopathological changes and attenuating hepatic granuloma. N. sativa oil did not interfere on the granuloma evolution in intestine, although, melatonin markedly reduced the fibrotic areas. Also, these antioxidants markedly ameliorated most of the pathological changes occurred in kidney. The effects of the antioxidants may be attributed partly to their early administration before the stimulation of the immune system or due to a modulation in the immune response in general.
