O rap, o hip-hop e o funk: a "eróptica" da arte juvenil invade a cena das escolas públicas nas metrópoles brasileiras
Amaral, Mnica do;
Psicologia USP , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65642011005000025
Abstract: some rappers' irreverence and criticality and the happy erotic body swinging as proposed by funk, suggest a new scenario for brazil's metropolis, where the youth art plurality comes up as a way to face the trace left by deep social fractures. the concepts of the "dionysian vision of the world", "extreme aesthetics" and "revaluation of values", as defended by nietzsche, and "eroticism", as conceived by bataille, guided the method of "rupture of field", as defined by herrmann. this one, essential to reconsider the notions of authority and tradition in the contemporary society, throughout the trends shown, particularly by rap and funk. only ethnography of the regard which captures their irreverent erotic dimension - the "eroptica", according to canevacci - seems to be able to identify in them an affirmative and critical aesthetics, as nietzsche would say, able to produce a true reversal of values in our society.
A ruptura do pacto social no pensamento de Sade
Amaral, Mnica Guimar?es Teixeira do;
Trans/Form/A??o , 1992, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-31731992000100004
Abstract: the works of sade portray the corrupt and libertine practices at the time of louis xv's despotic regime, invariably referring to the boudoir as a privileged place for the transformation of mind and body as well as for philosophical production. the actuality of sade's thought lies in the fact that he reveals - as do modem trends - the narcissic constitution of subjectivity that, in its social-political aspect, leads to political conformism. this article aims at presenting sade's thought as a radical critique of social relationships, which lead to the rupture of rousseau's social contract. his relentless doctrine becomes negative philosophy in that it supplies the foundations for the critique of instrumental reason. a pessimist regarding the course of social totality, sade's theory points to human 'animality' asa possible means of transcending the artificiality of social relationships.
A new method for quantification of total polyphenol content in medicinal plants based on the reduction of Fe(III)/1,10-phenanthroline complexes  [PDF]
Mnica Gabriela do Santo, Cecilia Veronica Nunez, Horacio Dorigan Moya
Advances in Biological Chemistry (ABC) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/abc.2013.36059
Abstract:

This paper proposes an alternative analytical spectrophotometric method for the total polyphenol quantification in the aqueous extract of plants. When these extracts are added to solutions of Fe(III), in presence of 1,10-phenanthroline, the absorbance values at 551 nm (A511nm) due to the \"\"complexes formed are proportional to the total polyphenol concentration expressed as pyrogallic acid (PA). A typical calibration graph of A511nm values vs. PA is linear from 0.16 to 0.64 mg L-1 (r = 0.994, n = 6) with a limit of detection 0.041 mg L-1. The results of the polyphenol content of the aqueous extracts of twenty medicinal Brazilian plants obtained with the proposed method were compared with values using the Folin-Ciocalteu reagent. A paired t-test revealed no statistically significant difference for the species analyzed. The total antioxidant capacity of the same twenty extracts was determined based on the scavenging of stable radical DPPH.

Um modelo de fluxos e localiza??o de terminais intermodais para escoamento da soja brasileira destinada à exporta??o
Amaral, Mnica do;Almeida, Marina Soares;Morabito, Reinaldo;
Gest?o & Produ??o , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-530X2012000400005
Abstract: the use of intermodal routes may be advantageous in several situations such as to export agricultural products. however, the possibility of reducing logistics costs depends on the existence of intermodal facilities for the transshipment and the integration between the available modes. in this context, we propose a model for flow allocation and location of intermodal terminals to support investment decisions in network infrastructure and routing. the model is closely related to the np-hard p-median problem. multiple levels were used to represent the flows between two terminals, and a sparse structure was used for the network matrix representation. tests using a soybean network for exports based on secondary data were performed to verify the model consistency and to illustrate the potential of analysis of the model, while randomly generated instances were used to evaluate its computational performance using two kinds of optimization software.

Abstract: the article discusses the notion of learning organisations having information as its background. it describes contemporary approaches and its fragility as descartes paradigm - based models. it also presents alternatives that take into account the complexity of contemporary organisations which are believed to contribute to the knowledge concerning the operating of information in cognitive process as well as to the approach of information as a managerial resource in a less pragmatic way.
A malforma??o do bebé: Vivências psicológicas do casal
Antunes,Mónica Sofia do Couto; Patrocínio,Carla;
Psicologia, Saúde & Doen?as , 2007,
Abstract: the relationship between mother and infant is progressively set since pre-birth. both parents replenish the pregnancy with countless expectations and ideals about the new baby. so, a diagnosis of fetal malformation obviously raises a great parental disappointment and disbelief, forcing them to mourn an imagined baby. this communication seeks to deepen the subject of fetal malformation having in view the psychological and emotional responses of the parents concerning not only the impact of an unfavourable diagnosis but also the whole process of adaptation they have to face. this communication also intends to develop and obtain a deeper understanding of the health workers role this complex area, confronting the several theories with the clinical practice. as a matter of fact it is ever more possible to detect in-uterus malformations enabling the parents the information thereof, thus rendering absolutely necessary the of well informed and expert health technicians ready to deal with these situations.

Abstract: black rot of pineapple, caused by chalara paradoxa (de seyn.) sacc., is a postharvest disease responsible by high losses on fruits destined to the fresh market and to the processing industry. penetration of fungus inside cells occurs through wounds and stem cutting, causing infection. the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of abiotic resistance inducers, chemical fungicide and natural plant extracts on black rot of pineapple control. 32 fruits of pineapple cv pérola were used. they were disinfested with sodium hypochlorite (commercial product) at 4% for 5 minutes. after drying at room temperature, fruits were treated, by spraying, with: 1) distilled water (control), 2) derosal 3) bion? (acibenzolar-s-methyl); 4) ecolife?; 5) agro-mos?; 6) allium sativum extract at 20%; 7) a. cepa at 20% and 8) azadirachta indica at 20%. treated fruits were incubated on humid chamber with polyethylene bags during 24 hours before inoculation procedure using a mycelia disk added to a wound at the epidermic area of the fruit. evaluation of disease progress was done by a disease index: 1- no symptoms, 2- black rot on epidermis reaching 1-5 simple fruits, 3- black rot on epidermis reaching 6-10 simple fruits, 4- internal brown yellow rot, 5- black rot and disintegration of internal area in more than 50%. the experimental design was a completely randomized with eight treatments and five replicates, using general linear models with multinomial distribution and the averages were compared by scott-knott test at 5%. the best results were found in the ecolife treatment with longer fruit life span and less severity in the symptoms of the disease.
Complica??es e seqüelas neurológicas da anestesia regional realizada em crian?as sob anestesia geral: um problema real ou casos esporádicos?
Costa, Ver?nica Vieira da;Rodrigues, Mnica Rossi;Fernandes, Maria do Carmo Barretto de Carvalho;Saraiva, Renato ?ngelo;
Revista Brasileira de Anestesiologia , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0034-70942006000600003
Abstract: background and methods: it has been questioned whether regional block in children, which most of the time is done under general anesthesia, is really safe. there is the potential risk of permanent or temporary neurological damage when the patient cannot complain of eventual paresthesia or pain while the block is being performed, making anesthesiologists very insecure. the aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of neurological complications and damage of regional block in children under general anesthesia. methods: a prospective analysis of children who underwent orthopedic and reconstructive plastic surgeries under regional block associated with general anesthesia was undertaken. anesthesia was induced and maintained by the intravenous or inhalational route. regional block was done after general anesthesia and immediate complications, number of punctures, mean term complications, and the presence of neurological damage were evaluated. results: four hundred and forty-nine children, boys and girls, with a mean age of 6,7 years, were evaluated over a 13-month period. the majority of the patients underwent general anesthesia associated with epidural lumbar or caudal block. the prevalence of immediate complications was 3.6% and bleeding at the time of the puncture was the most frequent complication. the prevalence of average term complications was 1.1%, and hyposthesia was the most frequent complication. there was no long-term neurological damage. conclusions: the results of this study are similar to those found by other authors regarding the low prevalence of complications of regional block in children under general anesthesia, without the occurrence of permanent neurological damage. this can be attributed to the use of adequate material and the experience of the anesthesia team

Abstract: Several studies have shown a major development in height and cannon bone circumference in foals from birth to weaning and from different breeds. However, in Brazil, there is little information about foal development. For this reason, this study has used data on foals from seven different farms in Pernambuco, Northeast Brazil, where horses have a major economic importance. The aim of this study was to compare foal’s development from four breeds and to develop a regression formula in order to estimate such development. It was used data from 210 suckling foals (Arabians n = 18, Campolina n = 86, Mangalarga Marchador n = 42 and Quarter Horses n = 64), raised in similar management practices. Their height at withers, heart girth, and cannon bone girth were measured monthly from birth to weaning. Data we reanalyzed by ANOVA and Tukey Test, with P established in 5%. The highest mean of height at withers was observed in the Arabian foals, and it was similar to Campolina and Mangalarga Marchador foals. The last breed presented a higher percentage of gain in height (~36%) and higher heart girth. On the other hand, Campolina foals had the highest mean of cannon bone girth. There was a significant interaction between breed and development phase in heart and cannon bone girths. All regression for mulas obtained from this data was very significant, and it was showed that they can predict height at withers in the four breeds studied. Heart and cannon bone girths showed medium value of R2 and large significance. It is important to highlight that fetal programing produces significant impact on foal development, even after weaning. So, this study would have observed some more changes if its scope had been extended beyond this phase.
