AIM: The authors have aimed at confirming or excluding
gluten sensitivity in infertile couples. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Between 2004 and
2010, at our outpatient clinics of immunology, both partners of 223 couples,
who had striven for having a child unsuccessfully, underwent history taking,
physical examination, laboratory and immuno-serologic tests including
anti-tissue-transglutaminase antibody (antitTG), as well as deep duodenal
biopsy in antibody-carrying patients. RESULTS: Antibodies against tissue
transglutaminase were positive in 6/223 female patients of whom the diagnosis
of celiac disease was histologically confirmed in 3/223 cases (1.34%). Of the
male patients 2/223 (0.9%) have proven to be carriers of the antibody;
histology was pathognomonic in both of them. Curiously, one of the male
patients with celiac disease has been the partner of a woman who also had celiac disease diagnosed by the authors. In
the followup period, a female patient and the female member of the
couple with celiac disease gave birth to healthy newborns after spontaneous
conception, as the result of a strictly kept gluten-free diet, as well as
occasional treatments of acetylsalicylate for antiphos-pholipid syndrome or
levothyroxine for latent hypothyroidism due to autoimmune thyroiditis. CONCLUSION:
The results underline that it is worth performing a screening for celiac
disease in both partners of couples assessed
due to the lack of success in having a child, as infertility can be ceased by
an appropriate diet.

Abstract:
The market success of the enterprises depends on the ability to support their business processes. This involves the requirement of a seamless, well-ordered operation of the whole company. Operation is greatly affected by the quality of its IT support. The information should be available, handled confidentially, preserving its integrity, have to be processed in a reliable, efficient, effective way, in compliance with the requirements of supervisory authorities. Extending the scope of these information criteria to criteria determining operations quality and adding two business-level requirements to them makes possible to find preventive, detective andcorrective, originally information security control measures, raised to the level of operational quality, that support the market success of the institutions.

Abstract:
A residue formula is given for the Verlinde formula, which allows one to calculate its coefficients as a polynomial in the level and connects it to the Riemann-Roch formula on the moduli space of vector bundles on a curve.

Abstract:
We present a compact formula computing rational trigonometric sums. E. Verlinde's expression for the dimension of conformal blocks in WZW theory is an example of such a sum. As an application, we show that a formula of Bismut and Labourie for the Riemann-Roch numbers of moduli spaces of flat connections on a Riemann surface coincides with Verlinde's expression.

Abstract:
For a nontrivial measurable set on the real line, there are always exceptional points, where the lower and upper densities of the set are neither zero nor one. We quantify this statement, following work by V. Kolyada, and obtain the unexpected result that there is always a point where the upper and the lower densities are closer to 1/2 than to zero or one. The method of proof uses a combinatorial restatement of the problem.

Abstract:
We give a proof of the periodicity of Zamolodchikov's Y-systems in the AxA case using a novel interpretation of the system as a condition of flatness of a connection on a certain graph.

Abstract:
We describe an effective method for calculating certain infinite sums, generalizations of the classical Bernoulli polynomials. As shown by Edward Witten in his papers on two-dimensional gauge theories, the correlation functions of two-dimensional topological Yang-Mills theory (or intersection numbers on moduli spaces of flat connections) can be given in the form of such infinite sums. Thus, in particular, our results give finite expressions for these correlation functions in the case of arbitrary compact structure groups G.

Abstract:
We give a new interpretation and proof of the dilogarithm identities, associated to the affine Kac-Moody algebra sl(2)^, using the path description of the corresponding crystal basis. We also discuss connections with algebraic K-theory.

Abstract:
We prove a formula for Thom polynomials of Morin (or A_d) singularities in any codimension. We use a combination of the test-curve method of Porteous, and the localization methods in equivariant cohomology. Our formulas are independent of the codimension, and they are computationally efficient for d less than 7.
