Abstract: this study emphasizes the specific characteristics of the mental health as a health policy in the social political field, in brazil. the objective of this study is to analyze on the society/state/health articulations between the structural policies and the specific politic program by means of the historical rescue of these policies, identifying the characteristics and problems at each moment. presently, an impact between the two strategies of the psychiatric assistance is observed: the hegemonic, hospital centered model which abducts lives, mutilate bodies and minds and trade the health and, that one, against to the predominant model, searching the rupture by criticizing the brazilian society.

Abstract: the need to build a new look to the care, based on dialogue and creativity, enables the social transformation of the role of professionals in their practice. it is understood here that the care is more than an act: it is an attitude. moreover, the conceptual framework of psychosocial rehabilitation is an instrument that might enable the construction of this new look. in this context, to care is to consider the importance of building projects of life, significant for each user, as lynchpin of the therapeutic action. the necessary changes in mental health's practice and psychiatric nursing are progressing, since the knowledge produced in this area incorporates strategies to welcome and maintenance which considers, at all times, the exercise of active citizenship of the mental patients.
Reflection about of the brazilian public politicians in the context of post colonialism

Abstract: Objectives: to describe the public policy on mental health in Brazil and hold a reflection from the perspective of the standard of post-colonialism, by portuguese sociologist Boaventura de Sousa Santos. Method: this is a qualitative, descriptive literature from documents of the Ministry of Health and publications available in virtual libraries in health. Thus, were analyzed laws, ordinances and decrees published by the Ministry of Health. Results: currently, mental health care should have the territory as an area for care, and the Psychosocial Attention Center/CAPS — the equipament of choice. The CAPS is available to users: psychiatric care, psychotropic, nursing care, social assistence, individual and group therapies and workshops to generate income, with the solidary economy, such as counter-hegemonic strategy. To meet the demands of users, the CAPS should liaise with all social sectors and local health services, composing the "Network". Conclusion: the publics policies on mental health of ministry of Health of Brazil has its pillar in the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform. The emancipation of the person suffering from mental disorders should be considered with the participation of representatives of civil society, respecting the cultural and social differences existed in the country.
Evaluation of Petrifilm? EC and HS for total coliforms and Escherichia coli enumeration in water

Abstract: petrifilm? ec and hs were compared to the mpn method to determine their efficacy to enumerate total coliforms and e. coli in 145 samples of water (76 water in natura, 69 drinking water). for water in natura, petrifilm? hs and ec showed good correlation with mpn method. in chlorinated water (< 20 col/100 ml and negatives) the agreement was low. for e.coli enumeration, petrifilm? ec showed a good correlation with mpn method. the results indicated that petrifilm? ec and hs are accurate to enumerate coliforms and e. coli in water when the expected counts are higher than 20/100 ml.
Use of Readycult? - LMX for enumeration of total coliforms and Escherichia coli in milk

Abstract: readycult? - lmx is a rapid method to test for the presence of total coliform bacteria and escherichia coli in water, giving results in 24h. it is based on reactions of specific microbial enzymes or indicator nutrients of the medium. the goal of this paper was to study the use of readycult? - lmx to detect total coliform and e. coli in milk. one hundred twenty five samples of pasteurized and raw milk, collected in londrina, pr, brazil, were tested simultaneously by the most probable number (mpn) method using brilliant green bile lactose broth (2%) (brila) and readycult? - lmx. the readycult? - lmx test was evaluated for sensitivity, simplicity, and speed of results. there was a significant correlation between the results obtained by the two methods for total coliforms (r: 0.8224) and for e. coli (r: 0.8603). the two methods yielded similar results, but readycult? - lmx was easier to use. in addition, results were available as early as 24h.

Abstract: exploratory study with qualitative approach that had as its main objective to identify the conception of the health professionals about psychosocial rehabilitation from a reference center for the treatment of alcohol and other drugs related problems. the sample consisted of eleven health professionals with an academic degree, submitted to semi-structured interviews. the data analysis was made according to the hermeneutic dialectic method which originated the psychosocial rehabilitation category. the data demonstrated that in the professional's conception, the psychosocial rehabilitation is given in the realization of therapeutic workshops, outdoor activities, and the estabilishment of a partnership with other foundations. it is concluded that the concept of psychosocial rehabilitation that was made clear in the conception of these subjects is still associated to the traditional psychiatric model, which is attached to the logic of social normality, the main challenge to the psychosocial model of assistance to the alcohol and other drugs users.

Abstract: after almost 30 years since the creation of the psychiatric nursing concentration area in the graduate program of the university of s?o paulo nursing school, it is important to take a look at its scientific production in order to substantiate reflection about teaching. this is a descriptive-exploratory study. it used as sources the registers of the graduate service, abstracts from theses and dissertations, and memoranda and official correspondence. the data collected were analyzed in the light of the transformations occurred in this structure that has graduated 60 students, of which 50 obtained a master's degree and 10 a phd, and that has been restructuring its disciplines, research lines and projects with the objective of responding to internal and external evaluations and adjusting to the guidelines of the country's fostering agencies. current scientific production points out to an alignment with the guidelines of the psychiatric reform, and a tendency to produce knowledge through the concrete practice of the workers in the assistance field, the management and the teaching of mental health.

Abstract: this study intends to map the health care given to the usuary with needs in the mental health field in a primary health care unity, analyzing the team work in the light of the integrate primary health care practices. the participants are health workers from different professions, who belong to the service's mental health working processes. the data collection technique used was the analytic flowchart. the results show us that the connective flows among the professionals and between them and the health unity's, in the primary health care unit, has been producing and proliferated diverse exchanges' spaces, making possible health actions aligned to the integrality in people's care through a enlarged understanding of health mental disease process, by means of human relationships' valuation and subjectivities involved in the health work space.
A Medicina Integrativa e a constru??o de um novo modelo na saúde

Abstract: integrative medicine (im) is the most recent concept on the complementary and alternative medicines (cam) debate, regarding the introduction and management of new practices in the health systems. this paper analyzed the different definitions of im and its relation to cam, through a systematic literature review on medline, during the period of 1996 to 2005. the keyword "integrative medicine" was used and 36 papers were selected, which presented a definition of im. it was identified that cam is part of im and the definitions include: cam and conventional medicine integration; use of evidence; combination of old healing systems and biomedicine; appreciation of the medical-patient relationship and communication; person as a whole conception; and focus on health, healing and prevention. it is concluded that the increasing interest of users, professionals and managers in cam points out the need of developing the im model, supporting the implementation and management of new care and healing practices.
