Abstract: This is a qualitative study that aims to describe the opinion of nursing students on the use of an educational hypermedia on Peripheral Venipuncture. We interviewed 16 nursing students of a private university on second semester of 2014. The interviews allowed the identification of units of meaning and categorization by content analysis and led to four categories: influence of hypermedia on learning, educational technology as support to teaching classroom, contribution of hypermedia for professional practice and access difficulties. Hypermedia showed positive results as most scholars reported that the material helped in learning and generated autonomy and interactivity in the moment of studying. However some reported difficulties in access hypermedia related mainly to the server used. So hypermedia proved to be a valuable tool to use, since it favored the learning and aroused the interest and curiosity of students.

Abstract: This study was carried out in order to investigate the professionals’ feelings concerning the care in the Center for Children and Youth Psychosocial Care, as well as to evidence the advantages and difficulties of this work. This was a qualitative research guided by the social phenomenology of Al-fred Schütz. 13 health professionals from CAPSi between November 2008 and January 2009 were interviewed. We identified three categories: First feelings, difficulties of care and motivation for the care. The first category, awakened feelings, relates to the beginning of work with children and adolescents in CAPSi. The second motivation for the care, relates to the points highlighted as conducive to work. The third, difficulties in Caring for expressing the difficulties encountered in mental health of children and adolescents in CAPSi. We concluded that the care depends of knowledge, experience and service conditions in order to attend the needs of children and adolescents in CAPSi.

Abstract: This study aimed to describe structure, functionality and development of pediatric heart transplant families, from the understanding of the experienced chronic condition. A descriptive, exploratory study using a qualitative approach was developed in a hospital situated in a city of Northeast Brazil, in 2012. The study was conducted with three families, using the Calgary Family Assessment Model (CFAM). In addition to the genogram, an analysis of the children’s/adolescents’ family members was conducted at the time of interview. Two families were binuclear families and one was mononuclear. From the evaluation, it was possible to determine the care and support network of children and adolescents with heart transplants, as well as some difficulties faced by the investigated families. Nurses are important in this family context since the visualization of the family genogram can generate a change in the nursing care to each family.
Study of service life of concrete girder bridge on the sea

Materiales de Construccion , 2003,
Abstract: The objective of this paper is to study the evolution of the failure probability of the concrete beams to estimate the service life of a sea bridge in the southeast region of Brazil. The mechanism of deterioration analyzed in the study was the corrosion of the reinforcing bars. The models utilized for that are related with the carbonation and penetration of chlorides. Tests have been carried out for the characterization of the main variables used in the calculations and in the deterioration models. The information was completed with the control data obtained during the construction. It was obtained the functions of conjoined density of the variables through simulation. The method FORM was used to estimate the failure probability. For an adopted failure probability of 10-3 cracking due the corrosion products, the obtained values for the service lives for the 25 analyzed beams were in a range of 25 up to 70 years.
On the Nonrelativistic Limit of the Scattering of Spin One-half Particles Interacting with a Chern-Simons Field

Physics , 1997, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevD.57.3579
Abstract: Starting from a relativistic quantum field theory, we study the low energy scattering of two fermions of opposite spins interacting through a Chern-Simons field. Using the Coulomb gauge we implement the one loop renormalization program and discuss vacuum polarization and magnetic moment effects. We prove that the induced magnetic moments for spin up and spin down fermions are the same. Next, using an intermediary auxiliary cutoff the scattering amplitude is computed up to one loop. Similarly to Aharonov-Bohm effect for spin zero particles, the low energy part of the amplitude contains a logarithmic divergence in the limit of very high intermediary cutoff. In our approach however the needed counterterm is automatically provided without any additional hypothesis.

Physics , 1996, DOI: 10.1142/S0217732396002812
Abstract: We study the nonrelativistic limit of the quantum theory of a real scalar field with quartic self-interaction. The two body scattering amplitude is written in such way as to separate the contributions of high and low energy intermediary states. From this result and the two loop computation of the self energy correction, we determine an effective nonrelativistic action.

Physics , 1996, DOI: 10.1016/S0375-9601(97)00831-1
Abstract: We determine the |p|/m expansion of the two body scattering amplitude of the quantum theory of a Chern-Simons field minimally coupled to a scalar field with quartic self-interaction. It is shown that the existence of a critical value of the self-interaction parameter for which the 2-particle amplitude reduces to the Aharonov-Bohm one is restricted to the leading, nonrelativistic, order. The subdominant terms correspond to relativistic corrections to the Aharonov-Bohm scattering.

Abstract: We study the nonrelativistic limit of the quantum theory of a Chern-Simons field minimally coupled to a scalar field with quartic self-interaction. The renormalization of the relativistic model, in the Coulomb gauge, is discussed. We employ a procedure to calculate scattering amplitudes for low momenta that generates their $|p|/m$ expansion and separates the contributions coming from high and low energy intermediary states. The two body scattering amplitude is calculated up to order $p^2/m^2$. It is shown that the existence of a critical value of the self-interaction parameter for which the 2-particle scattering amplitude reduces to the Aharonov-Bohm one is a strictly nonrelativistic feature. The subdominant terms correspond to relativistic corrections to the Aharonov-Bohm scattering. A nonrelativistic reduction scheme and an effective nonrelativistic Lagrangian to account for the relativistic corrections are proposed.

Brazilian Archives of Biology and Technology , 2002,
Abstract: This study was carried out to analyse the possible influence of smoking on the positivity of rheumatoid factor (RF) in healthy individuals in the region of Curitiba, Brazil. One hundred fifty blood donors (84 smokers and 66 non-smokers ) were studied for the presence of RF using nephelometry. Smoking was found not to be correlated to the positivity of RF, independently of the smokers sex (men with p=0.09 and women with p=0.49), the number of cigarettes/day (p=0.20), duration of smoking (p=0.18) and cumulative exposure (time X quantity) to cigarettes (p=0.13).

Revista IBRACON de Estruturas e Materiais , 2012,
Abstract: guidelines to develop performance specifications of concrete, including suggestions for performance requirements, are presented. this paper proposes changes to the brazilian specifications and standards in order to follow the international trend and to move from prescription to performance. although, the implementation of performance specifications may pose some challenges, it brings an opportunity to increase the service life of concrete structures. the strategic, tactic and operational aspects of performance specification's implementation in brazil are presented, as well. these guidelines are based on specifications already adopted by other countries, on mathematical modeling and on experimental work.
