Abstract: purpose: to analyze the concept of interdisciplinarity among teachers of the speech therapy course at the university of vale do itajaí. methods: the research was guided by a qualitative approach, through a discourse analysis following the french model, using an in-depth interview as the data collection tool. results: following the analysis, different subject positions were identified, in which knowledge of interdisciplinarity, the possible pedagogical situations in which it occurs, and the obstacles to interdisciplinary practices, were identified. conclusion: it was realized that there is still a lack of firmly-grounded knowledge on the subject of interdisciplinarity that can lead to a work model with sufficiently defined and consistent theoretical and methodological principles. finally, this work reveals a need for greater investment on research that can support the principles of interdisciplinarity in the area of speech therapy, in order to expand the horizons of this professional who needs, above all, to understand him or herself as a health professional whose daily practice requires a plural perspective.
Approach of humanization in academic undergraduate courses in the area of health UNOCHAPECó – Evaluation of Pedagogical Course Plans

Abstract: The understanding of the Other as an integral and human being, with aspirations, feelings and desires, having the profession based on responsible, committed and humanized postures, is a theme that invades the scientific areas of health. Considering that these elements are intertwined, it is necessary to understand what theory gives them basis and how they are approached in the undergraduate courses so that they become attitudes and postures. It is necessary to comprehend the curricular bases of the courses in the area of health: how these bases contribute to the development of competences related to the attitudes of humanization. The objective of the research was to identify references in the pedagogical undergraduate course plans in the area of health at UNOCHAPECó, the attitudinal competence of humanization, the methodology to develop it among the undergraduates, the presence of such a competence in the graduate′s profile and its forms of evaluation, correlating this with the National Curricular Guideline. The methodology used was the documental analysis. This is a descriptive exploratory research with a qualitative approach. Due to the research, it was possible to verify that all PCP′s wish to produce a humanist professional; in spite of that, the only course to describe methodological possibilities to reach this objective and the evaluation in the process was the Medical undergraduate course. The study analyzed how the term “humanization” is described in the PCP′s of the undergraduate courses in the area of health. It is necessary to deepen the research and try to indentify the application of the PCP in the courses′ routine. The study considers valid to propose reformulations in the PCP′s of the following undergraduate courses: Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Nursing and Physical Education at UNOCHAPECó, in order to adjust the general objective and also to construe methodologies for the development of humanized attitudes and their evaluation.
Training Teachers for the SUS: A health and pedagogical challenge

Abstract: In view of the growth in the area of education for health professionals in the Brazilian National Health Service (SUS) in recent years, and the investments made in this area as a result of the National Policy for Continuing Education in Health (Decree 1996/07), increasing numbers of health professionals are assuming a teaching role without having adequate preparation in areas of pedagogy or health, since the graduation courses do not prepare them to work in the public service. In this context, the objective of this work was to develop abilities in the areas of health and teaching methodology among health professionals of the Tocantins State Health Department, through four workshops which were attended by eight health professionals acting as teachers on one of the courses offered by the Tocantins State Health Department. The content of the workshops was analyzed based using Fleck’s epistemological categories (*1935+ 1979), with a qualitative approach. It was possible to identify four Thematic Analysis Blocks, culminating in five conclusions: 1) The educative action only has meaning if it promotes reflection on the ways people see and conceive the health-sickness process; 2) To teach, within the SUS, is to introduce a holistic way of thinking; 3) The training of teachers for the SUS should promote a move away from a Biomedical way of thinking towards a holistic one, within the field of health, and from a traditional way of thinking to a Progressive one, within the field of pedagogy; 4) The teacher’s practice may intentionally complicate or maintain a way of thinking; 5) The training of teachers for SUS should lead to the creation of a collective way of thinking. This research contributes to the development of a pilot experiment of the course in teacher training for healthcare, based on health and pedagogical competencies, and proposes a matrix, based on the research results, that will serve as a reference for the curricular creation of courses for the qualification of teachers within the SUS.
Though styles in acupuncture: an epistemologic analysis

Abstract: The use of acupuncture on the west rose to the point of being the most practiced method among the complementary therapies. Along with this westernization, a new language appeared. This new way of looking at it changed the way the technique is thought through and also changed the patient approach, leading to two Thought Styles: Traditional and Scientific. This study has as its purpose to identify the characteristic elements of each Thought Style on the professionals specialized in acupuncture. The research methodology consisted in aqualitative approach, through Fleck’s (1986) categories applied in a analysis of acupuncture books and interviews. The Fleck’s epistemology showed the importance of the historical context when it comes to a better understanding of both Thought Styles. Nevertheless, the most important point lays on its perception that the majority of acupuncturists act without precise limits or fix models, they alter between both styles.
Civil Society Organizations of Public Interest and social protection assistance: a documental analysis

Abstract: The Civil Society Organizations of Public Interest (CSOPI), with their actions and objectives, permeate various junctures in contemporary Brazilian State Social Welfare, such as the economy, employment, education and health. However, there is little research on their activities and ways of working. Regarding CSOPI social protection assistance, we sought to identify the distribution of entities at the national level, from the National Register of Entities of the Ministry of Justice (CNE/MJ) and thus characterize them, showing their audience, activity and purpose. Using the documental analysis method, we collected and discussed data from the National Registry of Entities of the Ministry of Justice. As results, coherent institutions were identified under their intended purpose, which lead to a standard of care in that category. Throughout the process new questions opened up, due to received information, the search tool and the CSOPI itself.

Abstract: interdisciplinarity, as one of the key concepts for the consolidation of public policies in the area of health, was focused based on the perspective of the professionals who are faced with the challenge of putting it into practice. understanding interdisciplinarity as a competence resulting from a range of knowledge, skills and attitudes, it was organized in the form of a tree diagram. this diagram was initially submitted for evaluation by a group of twenty-one judges, and subsequently, by a sample of one hundred and forty-five health professionals. the results show a consistency between the researcher's proposal and the evaluation of the participating subjects, since on a scale of zero to ten, the final level of performance was over nine. the space provided for statements by the subjects resulted in the addition of important categories, enriching the study as a whole.

Abstract: this study aimed to identify the thought styles of research groups in nursing education in three regions of brazil. method: qualitative research, exploratory and descriptive. results: northern region showed a style named liberating, characterized by a pedagogical stance based in dialogue. midwest region had a style named technicist-liberating, characterized by an intermediate pedagogical stance that shows exceptions to technicist education and at the same time growing appreciation of critical pedagogical approach. in the northeast appeared a style named technicist-liberating-effective, characterized by discussing the deployment of the national directions for nurse courses in the political pedagogical projects in the institutions of higher education. conclusion: the styles identified are in a constant movement, but it is relevant this time to identify liberating education and its effectiveness by the application of national directions as essential for the development of nursing education and its recognition.

Abstract: with the objective of evaluating the competences for health education and promotion, interdisciplinarity and management by using the original model from the university of north carolina, 21 experts in the subject were interviewed. all of the subjects were health professionals performing in the 17th regional health area of santa catarina, brazil. in this article, we present the results of the construction of the tree diagram, the jury method, verifying agreement among the judges, and of the depositions. the quantitative data were analyzed according to descriptive statistics and the depositions by using content analysis. the data evidenced that the competences and their dimensions were positively evaluated by the experts. the set of answers that received grades 4 and 5 reached 86,5%. these data and the depositions have confirmed the source of the proposal what authorizes us to consider it an instrument valid to be incorporated in the educational programs in the health area.

Abstract: permanent education and basic care have been part of the brazilian health system from the beginning. these public policies were recently updated, leading to an innovative knowledge construction movement to support their implementation and consolidation. this study, which used a quantitative approach, attempted to single-out the main descriptors that must guide the permanent basic care education processes. the method originated at the university of north carolina and is carried out in two stages. the data shown in this article concern the first stage, which includes these phases: elaboration of a diagram with all components to be assessed; analysis by a group of specialists, indicating what must be preserved, removed or included; evaluation by judges, based on the 1-to-5 likert scale; verification of the agreement among the judges. the diagram was decomposed in four dimensions, seeking to answer these questions: for whom? audiences or target population; what? content modules and learning experiences; for what? competencies to be developed; and how? approach to be prioritized. the results showed the validity of the descriptors that were proposed and evaluated, a material that may contribute to decision-making regarding permanent basic care education.

Abstract: Con el objetivo de evaluar las competencias para la educación y promoción de la salud, la interdisciplinaridad y la administración, usando un modelo originario de la University of North Carolina, fueron entrevistados 21 peritos en el tema. Todos los sujetos eran profesionales del área de la salud, actuando en el territorio de la 17a Regional de Salud de Santa Catarina, Brasil. En este artículo presentamos los resultados de la construcción del diagrama de árbol, de lo método del jurado, y de la verificación de la concordancia entre los jueces, así como también los resultados de los testimonios. Los datos cuantitativos fueron analizados según la estadística descriptiva y para los testimonios se usó el análisis de contenido. Los datos obtenidos demuestran que las competencias y sus dimensiones fueron positivamente evaluadas por los peritos. El conjunto de las respuestas que recibieron valor 4 y 5 alcanzó 86,5%. Estos datos y los testimonios confirman la procedencia de la propuesta, lo que nos autoriza a considerarla un instrumento válido para ser incorporado en los programas educativos en el área de la salud.
