Journal of Software Engineering and Applications (JSEA) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jsea.2014.75034
Abstract: Nowadays, application model systems for decision-making based on non-classical logic such as Paraconsistent Logic are used successfully in the treatment of uncertainties. The method presented in this paper is based on the fundamental concepts of Paraconsistent Annotated Logic with annotation of 2 values (PAL2v). In this study, two algorithms based on PAL2v are presented gradually, to extract the effects of the contradiction in signals of information from a database of uncertain knowledge. The Paraconsistent Extractors Algorithms of Contradiction Effect-Para Extrctr is applied to filters of networks of analyses (PANets) of signal information, where uncertain and contradictory signals may be found. Software test case scenarios are subordinated to an application model of Paraconsistent decision-making, which provides an analysis using Paraconsistent Logic in the treatment of uncertainties for design software testing strategies. This quality-quantity criterion to evaluate the software product quality is based on the characteristics of software testability analysis. The Para consistent reasoning application model system presented in this case study, reveals itself to be more efficient than the traditional methods because it has the potential to offer an appropriate treatment to different originally contradicting source information.

Abstract: up the present, the works of collecting planorbids done in 226 municipalities for the elaboration of the geographical distribution chart in the state of s?o paulo (brazil), showed the presence of two intermediate host species of schistosoma mansoni: biomphalaria tenagophila and biompralaria glabrata. although the technicians from the psiculture stations, have not found snails in the water inside the containers used for the transportation of fishes, the ecological conditions of b. straminea in the latest researches are such as to indicate that they have been introduced, in our state through fish transportation imported from areas where it occurs, such as the state of amazonas and ceará (brazil). the aim of the importation of these fishes is its adaptation to local waters. the occurrence was noticed in the psiculture stations of the towns of barra bonita and americana, and in an aquarium of a private house in the city of s?o paulo. this shows the danger that the distribution of fishes represents and the way it is being done. the seriousness of the problem originates not only from the importation of the said species but also from its dissemination in the state, through the redistribution to the private psiculture stations. it should be remembered that this dissemination can be also done through rivers in which banks are located tanks for the breeding of fishes as mentioned before. this facts was communicated to the national department of rural endemies for the necessary measures. one of the steps to be taken should be the quarentine for fishes from zones infested with species of planorbids hosts of s. mansoni. the passive scattering of b. straminea by the transportation of fishes, will enlarge the geographical distribution of these planorbids, which have already been found in venezuela, guianas and brazil. in this last country it is found in all its states with the exception of rio grande do sul, santa catarina, rio de janeiro and federal territories. two hundred and se

Investigación Clínica , 2010,
Abstract: thinning of myocardial segments, mainly at the apex and basal posterior region of left ventricle, are frequent lesions in chronic chagasic cardiopathy (ccc), but still without a well determined etiology. previously we found severe myocardial microvascular dilatation that could cause ischemia in watershed regions. in this study we analyzed whether narrowness in epicardial coronary arteries in ccc might explain these thinned ventricular lesions. two groups of dilated hearts with similar weights were compared: eleven hearts from patients with ccc versus four hearts from patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (idcm). as normal controls we studied three non dilated normal weight hearts. there were no atherosclerotic plaques in the main branches of epicardial coronary arteries and cross-sectional luminal areas of proximal and distal segments were histologically measured. it was found that ccc hearts presented a lower mean luminal area in the right coronary artery (rca) branch than idcm, in proximal (4.3 ± 1.4 vs 6.6 ± 2.0 mm2; p= 0.02) and in distal (1.6 ± 1.0 vs 3.4 ± 0.9 mm2; p= 0.01) segments, with no statistical differences with normal hearts (2.7 ± 1.3 and 1.5 ± 0.3 mm2) in proximal (p= 0.2) and distal (p=0.11) sections. in conclusion thinning of ventricular wall in ccc patients seems to be ischemic lesions in the peripheral territory irrigated by the right coronary artery, possibly due to a steal phenomenon by the left coronary, induced by micro vessels dilatation

Abstract: A method using a short-time derivatization step for the assessment of abamectin in water is presented. Abamectin derivative stable up to 7 days was obtained. Some regions where orange crops are present have received abamectin doses, aiming to increase the productivity and to combat pests and weeds, even when its residues reach the aquatic environment and interfere on water quality. Water samples from Jacaré-Pepira River (Brotas City, Brazil) nearby orange crops around urban zone, were evaluated for the presence of abamectin. The analytical method was validated resulting recovery around 108%, precision of 12%, accuracy of 104%, correlation coefficient of 0.9945, and detection and quantification limits of 0.1 μg·L﹣1 and 0.2 μg·L﹣1, respectively. Stable abamectin derivative was reached after 60 min of derivatization at room temperature (25°C). No abamectin residues were found into samples.

Abstract: the production capacity and specific energy consumption in forage choppers type disintegrator/chopper/grinder for elephant grass processing were evaluated. the treatments consisted of the combination of three forage choppers (dpm-1, dpm-2 and dpm-4), each operating in five different rotations, three oblique angles of the knives and two angles of the knives' edges. the experimental design used was completely randomized with two repetitions, and the results were evaluated by means of the regression analysis. the oblique angle of 10o led to greater efficiency for the three dpms. in some situations, the oblique angle of 38o provided better performance for dpms 1 and 2, while in others, the angle of 30o provided better performance for dpm-4. it is possible to lower production costs, when working at lower rotation speeds, due to the specific consumption being reduced. although the dpm-4 has presented a lower energy demand, it is worth pointing out that this machine is more expensive than the other two models and presents greater difficulty in feeding, forcing the farmer to employ an extra person to execute this process.

Abstract: The known oxadiazoles 3,5-bis-(phenyl)-1,2,4-oxadiazole (3a); the 3-(4-chlorophenyl)-5-phenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole (3b); and the new 3,5-diphenylchlorinated-1,2,4-oxadiazoles 3c-e were synthesized from the reaction of benzamidoximes with an appropriated acid chloride and cyclisation of the resulting O-acylbenzamidoxime intermediate. The compounds synthesized were characterized on the basis of their IR, NMR (1D and 2D) and mass spectral data. Compounds 3a-e were evaluated for their antimicrobial activity and for their toxicity towards brineshrimp (Artemia salina Leach).
