Educa??o & Sociedade , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73302011000100014
Abstract: whoever visits a pre-, elementary or high school will recognize an education aimed at producing different subjects, mentored to conduct their actions in a multicultural way. this paper analyzes how multiculturalism government uses the functioning of technologies of the - reflexive, sentimental, citizen and free - self, operated by the ethnomathematical device. it shows how these technologies are combined with other specific techniques and practices of multicultural subjectivity government. it points out the analytical productivity that the foucaultian perspective offers to think of other possibilities to experiment education in the present.
O PENSAMENTO CURRICULAR E A RELA O ENTRE PODER E CONHECIMENTO: CONTROLE E REGULA O SOCIAL
Lisete Jaehn??
Revista Espa?o do Currículo , 2012,

Abstract: objective: to compare the efficacy and tolerability of metformin, rosiglitazone and gliclazide mr as monotherapy and in combination in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. subjects and methods: 250 patients treated with oral antidiabetic agents for at least 24 weeks in monotherapy or in combination therapy were included in this retrospective study. results: as monotherapy the reduction of fasting plasma glucose (fpg), postprandial glycemia (ppg) and hba1c was similar with the three drugs after 24 weeks. among patients on combination therapy, the reduction in hba1c, fpg and ppg was significantly lower with rosiglitazone plus metformin, as compared to metformin plus gliclazide mr or gliclazide mr plus rosiglitazone. patients treated with rosiglitazone achieved less favorable changes in lipid profile. conclusion: in monotherapy all drugs were equally effective in improving glycemic control, whereas the combination of metformin plus gliclazide mr provided the best results concerning the improvement of both, glycemic control and lipid profile.

Arquivos Brasileiros de Endocrinologia & Metabologia , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0004-27302011000400004
Abstract: objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of adding vildagliptin to the treatment of patients with inadequately controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus (t2dm) treated with a combination of metformin and a sulphonylurea. subjects and methods: 37 t2dm patients with hba1c ranging from 7.7% to 12.4% (mean of 9.30 ± 1.38), despite the use of metformin in combination with a sulphonylurea, were additionally treated with vildagliptin (100 mg/day) for at least 6 months. results: during triple oral therapy (tot) hba1c levels < 7% were achieved in 11 patients (29.7%), whereas levels of fasting plasma glucose (fpg) < 120 mg/dl were observed in 12 patients (32.4%). both findings were observed in 10 patients (27.0%). compared to nonresponsive subjects, lower mean baseline hba1c and fpg levels were seen in responsive patients, but the difference was only statistically significant for fasting plasma glucose (fpg). moreover, there was considerable overlap between the two groups. conlusion: our preliminary results suggest that tot with metformin, a sulphonylurea and vildagliptin may be useful for some t2dm patients nonresponsive to combination therapy with metformin and sulphonylurea.
O ensino fundamental no Brasil: avan?os, perplexidades e tendências
Arelaro, Lisete Regina Gomes;
Educa??o & Sociedade , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73302005000300015
Abstract: the present paper diagnoses the situation of fundamental education in brazil. it pinpoints some impasses facing this school level, especially the implementation of a nine-year long elementary school, the "pedagogical" periods and rhythms, the centralized form of educational assessment, the accelerated municipalization process, the financing systematic adopted for this teaching level, not to mention the (de)valuing process of education workers - both in terms of remuneration and training. it points out trends for the next decade, highlighting educational administration - less democratic and more "efficient" -, and the privatization process of the educational system and its impact on the priorities of academic research. it then assesses the academic production in the area of fundamental education, foregrounding the emphasis given to each one of the greatest research themes and their effects on public policies.
Aspectos Morfológicos de Lonomia obliqua Walker (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae)
LISETE M., LORINI;CORSEUIL, éLIO;
Neotropical Entomology , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S1519-566X2001000300006
Abstract: lonomia obliqua walker (lepidoptera, saturniidae) has urticant spines in larval stages. this species may cause death as a result of haemorrhages caused by a toxin released from the caterpillar's spines onto the skin of the victim when touched. in order to determine the morphological features of this species, studies were performed at the laboratory of entomology of the pontifícia universidade católica do rio grande do sul. the morphological aspects of eggs, larvae, pupae and adults are discussed as well as illustrated with pictures and drawings. the eggs are light green, 1.98 mm mean height, 1.45 mm large and 1.61 mm long. from the first to the sixth larval instar, the insect has spines on the body with different sizes and they are green-brownish with strong and dark heads. the mean sizes are 5.19 mm long at the first larval instar and 53.49 mm at the sixth instar. the head capsules are 1.01 mm and 4.83 mm wide at the first and sixth instars respectively. the mean lengths of the pupae are 28.73 mm for males and 30.23 mm for females. adults have sexual dimorphism in which the male is smaller and yellow and the female is larger and grey-brownish. the mean adult wing span is 60.47 mm in males and 80.33 mm in females.
Formula??o e implementa??o das políticas públicas em educa??o e as parcerias público-privadas: impasse democrático ou mistifica??o política?
Arelaro, Lisete R.G.;
Educa??o & Sociedade , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73302007000300013
Abstract: the administration of brazilian school systems is faced with two impasses: the speech on democratic administration in the formulation and implementation of public policies in education and the "productivist" practice that "dispenses" with the first one. in addition to the social pressure movements for "transparency" in the government's actions, which demand extended popular participation - through councils or equivalents -, the pressure for "quality" of education and "competent" educational management are requiring immediate answers from the public leaders. since they have no conditions to give them, they establish public-private "partnerships" that implement the logics of the market in the orientations given to schools and in the public systems of education, creating a new and contradictory concept of educational efficiency, where the participation of the different segments of the school community is no longer needed.

Positive solutions of higher order quasilinear elliptic equations
Marcelo Montenegro
Abstract and Applied Analysis , 2002, DOI: 10.1155/s1085337502204030
Abstract: The higher order quasilinear elliptic equation −Δ(Δp(Δu))=f(x,u) subject to Dirichlet boundaryconditions may have unique and regular positive solution. If thedomain is a ball, we obtain a priori estimate to the radialsolutions via blowup. Extensions to systems and general domainsare also presented. The basic ingredients are the maximumprinciple, Moser iterative scheme, an eigenvalue problem, apriori estimates by rescalings, sub/supersolutions, andKrasnosel'skiĭ fixed point theorem.
LA PATRIMONIALIZACIóN COMO PROTECCIóN CONTRA LA MERCANTILIZACIóN: PARADOJAS DE LAS SANCIONES CULTURALES DE LO IGUAL Y LO DIFERENTE
MONTENEGRO,MAURICIO;
Revista Colombiana de Antropología , 2010,
Abstract: this article states that heritage is a kind of cultural production which, in its efforts to protect other cultural productions, has continuously used logics and models of isolation, opposition and valuation (taken) from the economic exchanges field. in heritage works a sort of cultural economics; therefore, studying it from this perspective may be useful to define it and to think about its limits and determinations. besides, this article rises that the contemporary market is arranged in a cultural model i call "cultural singularity production", weaving a net of value production which, paradoxically, finds its valuation principles in the defense of the unvaluable. this is why heritage making and merchandising are strongly related here
