A Contrastive Study of Structural Patterns of Resultative Adjectives as Verb Modifier Between Chinese and English

Abstract: Resultative adjective (RA) has been a great concern in the linguistic circle for its various types of semantic orientations and flexible verbal placements. With CCL Parallel Corpus of Chinese-English, the present study makes a comprehensive categorization and contrast of RA’s structural patterns in resultative construction between Chinese and English. Data of 59 RAs are processed to get the targeted data according to their verbal placements. The difference in structural patterns of RA as verb modifier between Chinese and English is analyzed from a cognitive perspective. The study further investigates features of RA and the relationship between language, culture and cognition. The findings are also significant for Chinese and English language learning and teaching as well as Chinese and English translation. Application of Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm to Electric Power Line Overhaul Plan

Abstract: Electric power line overhaul plan is an important issue on power system and engineering practice. As particle swarm optimization is to be a new intelligent algorithm. It is gradually applied into power system these years. This paper provides a relative mathematical model to solve the problems in power line overhaul. Particle swarm optimization algorithm has advantages of less parameters setting and highly optimizing speed. Take these advantages; we make an optimal order of electric power line overhaul. It is proved that the application of particle swarm optimization algorithm to electric power line overhaul plan is feasible.

Abstract: The present study focused on the dynamics of semantic information processing, and the role of familiarity. In order to solve this problem, two experiments with speed-accuracy decomposition and conventional reaction-time paradigm were conducted to inspect how dose familiarity influence the dynamic of semantic processing. Experiment 1 used conventional reaction-time paradigm with sentence verification task to investigate the effects of familiarity and semantic hierarchical distance on time course of semantic process. The results showed there are complex interaction among familiarity, semantic hierarchical distance and percentile of reaction time. It provides evidences consistent with the dual-process mechanism in semantic processing. This mechanism combined discrete search and continuous computation. Experiment 2 used SAD technique with the sentence verification task. The aim of experiment 2 was to explore the familiarity effect on the available partial information accumulations of discrete search and continuous computation mechanisms. The results showed that the high familiarity sentences verification process produced discrete intermediate outputs of partial information; and the process of low familiarity produced continuous intermediate outputs of partial information.

Abstract: The distribution of power supply limiting in multi-zone is discussed by means of combining analytical hierarchy process and fuzzy sets theory. From the greatest factors in power limiting distribution, guide line system and hierarchy structure are established. Also, the relative membership degree functions are determined. A novel multi-objective group decision model is suggested by introducing a compromise coefficient between subjective weight and objective weight, which can give attention to both. The model is applied to peak load shifting distribution and the result manifests this model is reasonable and applicable.

Abstract: In supply deficiency condition, retailers intend to overestimate demands, which could lead bullwhip effect increasing. This document analyze the bullwhip effect which brings by supplier implementing the linear assignment mechanism in the condition of supply deficiency, then offer a reasonable allocation measure based on earnest money controlling to restrain the bullwhip effect and get useful conclusion for the research of supply chain.

Abstract: On the basis of different expert knowledge structure, from the greatest factors in power limiting distribution, using the method combining Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and fuzzy set theory, a fuzzy comprehensive group decision model for multi-objects and multi-zones power limiting distribution in peak load shifting is built up. The problem of power limiting distribution between multi-zones is researched. The result manifests this model is reasonable and applicable.

Abstract: The properties of naphthenic acid hydrogen sulphide corrosion have thermodynamically been discussed. The results showed that ferro\|sulphide formed on the surface of iron in oil containing high concentration of sulphur and high acidic value has protective ability below 398.98K, however above the temperature may loss the protective function. Temperture and concentration of the solution have influence on the composition of corrosion products. The possible dissolving mechanism of ferro\|sulphide in naphthenic acid is proposed ,more over ,the principle of selecting film\|formed inhibitors in also discussed.

Abstract: Polycarbonate (pc)/polypropylene (pp)/silicate attapulgite (AT) ternary nanocomposites were first prepared via the two-step melt blending process. Phase structure of the ternary composites was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), in which the morphology of encapsulation of AT by PP in the PC matrix were observed. The mechanical properties of the ternary composites were investigated using the tensile tester and lzod impact tester. The results show that encapsulation of AT by PP in PC enhances the toughness of the matrix effectively and give the best tensile and impact strength.
A Randomized, Single-Center Double-Blinded Trial on the Effects of Diltiazem Sustained-Release Capsules in Patients with Coronary Slow Flow Phenomenon at 6-Month Follow-Up

Abstract: Objective The aim of this study is to observe the chronic effects of diltiazem release capsules on patients with coronary slow flow (CSF) phenomenon. Methods From 2004 to 2009, 80 consecutive patients with chest pain and normal coronary arteries evidenced by coronary angiography and CSF were included in this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. CSF patterns were evaluated by the corrected TIMI frame count. Patients were randomly assigned at 1:1 ratio to diltiazem sustained-release capsules treatment group (Dil, 90 mg twice daily) or placebo control group. Holter, liver and kidney function, treadmill exercise test, coronary angiography and left ventricular angiography were measured at baseline and after 6 months. The incidence of cardiovascular events (re-admission or progress in coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, malignant arrhythmia or cardiac death) was evaluated during the 6 months follow up. Results Thirty-nine patients in control and 40 patients in Dil group completed the 6 months follow-up. There was no medication induced drug withdraw during follow up. Left ventricular ejection fraction was similar between the 2 groups at baseline and during follow up. Heart rate was significantly lower in Dil group than in control group and there was no symptomatic bradycardia and II and III degree atrioventricular conduction block in both groups. Significant improvement was observed in the onset of chest pain, treadmill exercise test and coronary blood flow in Dil group while these parameters remained unchanged in control group at the end of 6 months follow up. The incidence of cardiovascular events was similar between the two groups. Conclusion Diltiazem slow-release capsules improved coronary blood flow and alleviated angina in patients with CSF.
