Abstract: In this paper, a nonautonomous predator-prey system based on a modified version of the Leslie-Gower scheme and Holling-type II scheme with delayed effect is investigated. The general criteria of integrable form on the permanence are established. By constructing suitable Lyapunov functionals, a set of easily verifiable sufficient conditions are derived for global stability of any positive solutions to the model

Abstract: Based on the mechanism of prevention and control of infectious disease, we propose, in this paper, an SIRS epidemic model with varying total population size and state-dependent control, where the fraction of susceptible individuals in population is as the detection threshold value. By the Poincaré map, theory of differential inequalities and differential equation geometry, the existence and orbital stability of the disease-free periodic solution are discussed. Theoretical results show that by state-dependent pulse vaccination we can make the proportion of infected individuals tend to zero, and control the transmission of disease in population.

Abstract: A delayed mathematical model of Dengue dynamical transmission between vector mosquitoes and human, incorporating a control strategy of perfect pediatric vaccination is proposed in this paper. By some analytical skills, we obtain the existence of disease-free equilibria and endemic equilibrium, the necessary conditions of global asymptotical stability about two disease-free equilibria. Further, by Pontryagin’s maximum principle, we obtain the optimal control of the disease. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to verify the correctness of the theoretical results and feasibility of the control measure.

Abstract: In this article, a singular perturbation is introduced to analyze the global asymptotic stability of positive equilibria of ratio-dependent predator-prey models with stage structure for the prey. We prove theoretical results and show numerically that the proposed approach is feasible and efficient.

Abstract: Extension neural network (ENN) is a new neural network that is a combination of extension theory and artificial neural network (ANN). The learning algorithm of ENN is based on supervised learning algorithm. One of important issues in the field of classification and recognition of ENN is how to achieve the best possible classifier with a small number of labeled training data. Training data selection is an effective approach to solve this issue. In this work, in order to improve the supervised learning performance and expand the engineering application range of ENN, we use a novel data selection method based on shadowed sets to refine the training data set of ENN. Firstly, we use clustering algorithm to label the data and induce shadowed sets. Then, in the framework of shadowed sets, the samples located around each cluster centers (core data) and the borders between clusters (boundary data) are selected as training data. Lastly, we use selected data to train ENN. Compared with traditional ENN, the proposed improved ENN (IENN) has a better performance. Moreover, IENN is independent of the supervised learning algorithms and initial labeled data. Experimental results verify the effectiveness and applicability of our proposed work. 1. Instruction There are some recognition and classification problems whose features are defined over an interval of values in our world. For example, boys can be defined as a class of men from age 1 to 12, and the permitted operation voltages of a specified motor may be between 100 and 120?V. For these problems, it is difficult to implement an appropriate classification method using the current artificial neural networks (ANNs). Therefore, a new topology of neural network, extension neural network (ENN), is proposed by Wang and Hung [1] to solve these problems. This new neural network is a combination of extension theory [2] and ANN. The ENN uses a modified extension distance to measure the similarity between the objects and the class centers. It can quickly and stably learn to categorize input patterns and permit the adaptive processes to access significant new information. Moreover, the ENN has shorter learning time and a simpler structure than traditional ANNs. There have been some successful applications based on ENN in the field of pattern recognition, fault diagnosis, classification, cluster analysis, and so on [1, 3–8]. Abstract: A quantum-like model of gravitational system is introduced to explore the formation of the solar system structure. In this model, the chaos behavior of a large number of original nebular particles in a gravitational field can be described in terms of the wave function satisfying formal Schrödinger equation, in which the Planck constant is replaced by a constant on cosmic scale. Numerical calculation shows that the radial distribution density of the particles has the character of wave curves with decreasing amplitudes and elongating wavelengths. By means of this model, many questions of the solar system, such as the planetary distance, mass, energy, angular momentum, the distribution of satellites, the structure of the planetary rings, and the asteroid belt and the Kuiper belt etc., can be explained in reason. In addition, the abnormal rotations of Venus and Mercury can be naturally explained by means of the quantum-like model.

Abstract: Notable for the second-person Twitter narrative, Jennifer Egan’s 2012 short science fiction Black Box is one of the most triumphant and fully-fledged fictions written in the form of new media. This paper mainly explores the second-person narrative employed in Black Box, pointing out that the second-person narrative leads the reader to participate in the story, allowing the reader to sense the same feelings as the protagonist does. From the second person’s perspective, Egan expresses her concerns and worries about the security of the American security as well as the whole world in the post-”9·11” period and at the same time she embraces the virtues and pleasures of traditional storytelling delivered through a wholly new digital format. This paper concludes that Black Box is perhaps one of the boldest experiments of narrative form and it is a direct exploration into the contemporary image culture.

Fabrication and characterization of La2Zr2O7 films on different buffer architectures for YBa2Cu3O7-delta coated conductors by RF magnetron sputtering

Abstract: La2Zr2O7 (LZO) films were grown on different buffer architectures by radio frequency magnetron sputtering for the large-scale application of YBa2Cu3O7-x (YBCO)-coated conductors. The three different buffer architectures were cerium oxide (CeO2), yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ)/CeO2, and CeO2/YSZ/CeO2. The microstructure and surface morphology of the LZO film were studied by X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy. The LZO films prepared on the CeO2, YSZ/CeO2, and CeO2/YSZ/CeO2 buffer architectures were preferentially c-axis-oriented and highly textured. The in-plane texture of LZO film on CeO2 single-buffer architecture was [increment]phi = 5.5[degree sign] and the out-of-plane texture was [increment]omega = 3.4[degree sign]. All the LZO films had very smooth surfaces, but LZO films grown on YSZ/CeO2 and CeO2/YSZ/CeO2 buffer architectures had cracks. The highly textured LZO film grown on CeO2-seed buffered NiW tape was suitable for the epitaxial growth of YBCO film with high currents.
