Fostering Creativity through Education – A Conceptual Framework of Creative Pedagogy  [PDF]
Yu-Sien Lin
Creative Education (CE) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2011.23021
Abstract: Capacities and qualities of creativity have been identified by researchers and strategies in fostering children’s creative thinking skills were proposed to create supportive environments in an educational setting. There is little consistent rhetoric, however, among these insights and strategies concerning different aspects of fostering creativity. In light of this, a three-element framework of creative pedagogy is proposed to offer a more holistic view of enhancing creativity through teaching, to cover the aspect of creative learning which was overlooked in the past, and to provide a different explanation to some arguments about teaching creativity. This framework is also a starting point for studies which intend to understand the teachers and pupils’ responses to creative pedagogy, and to provide implications for applying creative pedagogy in a classroom and in Asian context as well. In the end, several possible routes are suggested for future research in creative pedagogy.
Minimal Critical Sets of Refined Inertias for Irreducible Sign Patterns of Order 2  [PDF]
Ber-Lin Yu
Advances in Linear Algebra & Matrix Theory (ALAMT) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/alamt.2013.32002
Abstract:

Let S be a nonempty, proper subset of all refined inertias. Then, S is called a critical set of refined inertias for ireducible sign patterns of order n if \"\" is sufficient for any sign pattern A to be refined inertially arbitrary. If no proper subset of Sis a critical set of refined inertias, then S is a minimal critical set of refined inertias for sign patterns of order n . In this paper, all minimal critical sets of refined inertias for irreducible sign patterns of order 2 are identified. As a by-product, a new approach is presented to identify all minimal critical sets of inertias for irreducible sign patterns of order 2.

Atypical Polypoid Adenomyomas of Uterus: A Clinicopathologic Study of 2 Cases  [PDF]
Xiao Lin, Yu Li
Journal of Biosciences and Medicines (JBM) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/jbm.2018.65003
Abstract:
Atypical polypoid Adenomyomas (APA) is a rare benign tumour in uterine. It is would distinguished from well-differentiated endometrial adenocarcinoma because of his histological features. We report 2 cases of 31-year-old and 33-year-old patient whose symptom were abnormal uterine bleeding. The mass was pedunculated with a narrow pedicle connecting to the pedunculated with a narrow pedicle connecting to the cervical; the other was in the uterine prolapse without pedicle. The surgical procedure was polypectomy only in all two patients with hysteroscopy. The histopathology showed the lesions were composed of a proliferation of irregular atypical endometrial glands separated by varying amounts of cellular smooth-muscle stroma. No mitotic activity was observed in the epithelial or mesenchymal elements in APA. The treatment of APA should depend on the age and reproductive desire of patient.
Using a Feminist Interpretation of the Bible’s Book of Ruth to Address Taiwanese Female Pastors’ Financial Autonomy and Self-Esteem  [PDF]
Yu-Fen Lin
Psychology (PSYCH) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/psych.2018.99134
Abstract: This study used Ruth’s story in the Bible and reinterpreted it with feminist theological perspectives to address the related issues of Taiwanese female pastors’ economic independence and autonomy. This study explored the phenomenological and contextual world of 27 female pastors’ mental wellness and specifically how they deal with the hardship of financial inequality when living in a culturally patriarchal society and serving within the male dominant church system. Four themes were generated to report these female pastors’ shared experiences through qualitative method. Counseling applications were provided and discussed in this article.
Large-time rescaling behaviors of Stokes and Hele-Shaw flows driven by injection
Yu-Lin Lin
Physics , 2009,
Abstract: In this paper, we give a precise description of the rescaling behaviors of global strong polynomial solutions to the reformulation of zero surface tension Hele-Shaw problem driven by injection, the Polubarinova-Galin equation, in terms of Richardson complex moments. From past results, we know that this set of solutions is large. This method can also be applied to zero surface tension Stokes flow driven by injection and a rescaling behavior is given in terms of many conserved quantities as well.
Perturbation theorems for Hele-Shaw flows and their applications
Yu-Lin Lin
Physics , 2010, DOI: 10.1007/s11512-010-0138-9
Abstract: In this work, we give a perturbation theorem for strong polynomial solutions to the zero surface tension Hele-Shaw equation driven by injection or suction, so called the Polubarinova-Galin equation. This theorem enables us to explore properties of solutions with initial functions close to but are not polynomial. Applications of this theorem are given in the suction or injection case. In the former case, we show that if the initial domain is close to a disk, most of fluid will be sucked before the strong solution blows up. In the later case, we obtain precise large-time rescaling behaviors for large data to Hele-Shaw flows in terms of invariant Richardson complex moments. This rescaling behavior result generalizes a recent result regarding large-time rescaling behavior for small data in terms of moments. As a byproduct of a theorem in this paper, a short proof of existence and uniqueness of strong solutions to the Polubarinova-Galin equation is given.
Classification of degree three polynomial solutions to the Polubarinova-Galin equation
Yu-Lin Lin
Mathematics , 2013,
Abstract: The Polubarinova-Galin equation is derived from zero-surface-tension Hele-Shaw flow driven by injection. In this paper, we classify degree three polynomial solutions to the Polubarinova-Galin equation into three categories: global solutions, solutions which can be continued after blow-up and solutions which cannot be continued after blow-up. The coefficient region of the initial functions in each category is obtained.
An Overview of Personal Credit Scoring: Techniques and Future Work  [PDF]
Xiao-Lin Li, Yu Zhong
International Journal of Intelligence Science (IJIS) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ijis.2012.224024
Abstract: Personal credit scoring is the application of financial risk forecasting. It becomes an even important task as financial institutions have been experiencing serious competition and challenges. In this paper, the techniques used for credit scoring are summarized and classified and the new method—ensemble learning model is introduced. This article also discusses some problems in current study. It points out that changing the focus from static credit scoring to dynamic behavioral scoring and maximizing revenue by decreasing the Type I and Type II error are two issues in current study. It also suggested that more complex models cannot always been applied to actual situation. Therefore, how to use the assessment models widely and improve the prediction accuracy is the main task for future research.
The Harmonization of Professional Teaching and Professional-Competency Training in Financial Management  [PDF]
Wei Lin, Cao Shan, Song Yu
Chinese Studies (ChnStd) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/chnstd.2014.34023
Abstract: With the expansion in enrollment scale of financial management and the increase in the pressure of job-hunting, more and more schools start to analyze the problem regarding how to cultivate excellent financial management talents who meet the social demand, and how to build their own features and brands (Zhang Junrui & Liu Donglin, 2005). In this paper, according to Chinese certified public accountants competence guide and starting from the professional competency model, we analyzed how to attain harmony between knowledge imparting and students’ vocational ability training in the professional education in financial management, and discussed the necessity of the coordination in the professional education in financial management and students’ vocational ability training. Finally, we discovered four pathways to harmonize financial management professional teaching and professional competency training: 1) establishment of dynamic course modules based on demand orientation; 2) reform of teaching methods; 3) bringing practical experts into the classroom; 4) establishment of a multi-dimensional students learning quality evaluation.
