Real-Time Traffic Signal Timing for Urban Road Multi-Intersection  [PDF]

Abstract: this paper develops a real-time traffic signal timing model which is to be integrated into a single intersection for urban road, thereby solving the problem of traffic congestion. We analyze the current situation of the traffic flow with release matrix firstly, and then put forward the basic models to minimize total delay time of vehicles at the intersection. The optimal real-time signal timing model (non-fixed cycle and non-fixed split) is built with the Webster split optimal model. At last, the simulated results, which are compared with conventional model, manifest the promising properties of proposed model.

This article is to review the book Children, Language, and Literacy: Diverse Learners in Diverse Times, published in 2009, by Celia Genishi and Anne Haas Dyson. This book aims to explore the central premise that “diversity is the norm” through examining classroom activities that unfold young children’s interaction and learning as well as teachers’ instructional design and strategies. It provides insights into diverse child-centered curricula where children’s flexibility and adaptability in literacy development are stressed. Key focuses throughout this book rest on various dialects of English, sociolinguistic flexibility, pedagogies, assessments, flexible and play-based curricula. As expected, this book would contribute to studies of early childhood literacy, language diversity, and bilingual education. Specifically, it would benefit intended audiences: teachers and educators of young children, particularly teachers working with English language learners, emergent bilinguals, and special needs learners.

More precisely, In this research we first provide a generalized inequality for covariance. And then, we present its applications to solve some problems about probability distribution. Finally, we state the conclusion and mention the relevant work in the future.

Abstract: In this note, we symmetrized the cut-join equation from the proof of Marino-Vafa formula by applying a transcendental changing of variable. One can derive more recursion formulas of Hodge integrals out of this polynomial equations. We also give some applications.

Abstract: We studied framed deformations of two dimensional Galois representation of which the residue representation restrict to decomposition groups are scalars, and established a modular lifting theorem for certain cases. We then proved a family version of the result, and used it to determine the structure of deformation rings over characteristic zero fields. These can be applied to the study of exceptional zero of p-adic L-function.

Abstract: This paper expounds the basic principle of simulated annealing algorithm which was applied to solve the function optimization problem and the algorithm realization process by using MATLAB language. Through the improvement algorithm results show that the method is able to function for global optimization, effectively overcome the based on the derivative of the optimization algorithm easy to fall into local optimum problems. This method not only can deepen the understanding of the simulated annealing process, but also can achieve the purpose of design intelligent system.

Abstract: We study the Chern-Simons partition function of orthogonal quantum group invariants, and propose a new orthogonal Labastida-Mari\~{n}o-Ooguri-Vafa conjecture as well as degree conjecture for free energy associated to the orthogonal Chern-Simons partition function. We prove the degree conjecture and some interesting cases of orthogonal LMOV conjecture. In particular, We provide a formula of colored Kauffman polynomials for torus knots and links, and applied this formula to verify certain case of the conjecture at roots of unity except $1$. We also derive formulas of Lickorish-Millett type for Kauffman polynomials and relate all these to the orthogonal LMOV conjecture.

An Uncertain Programming Model for Competitive Logistics Distribution Center Location Problem  [PDF]

We employ uncertain programming to investigate the competitive logistics distribution center location problem in uncertain environment, in which the demands of customers and the setup costs of new distribution centers are uncertain variables. This research was studied with the assumption that customers patronize the nearest distribution center to satisfy their full demands. Within the framework of uncertainty theory, we construct the expected value model to maximize the expected profit of the new distribution center. In order to seek for the optimal solution, this model can be transformed into its deterministic form by taking advantage of the operational law of uncertain variables. Then we can use mathematical software to obtain the optimal location. In addition, a numerical example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the presented model.
