Abstract: In this paper, we study the following problem {-Δpu+V(x)|u|p-2u=K(x)f(u)+h(x) in□ N, uW1,p(□ N), u>0 in □ N, (*) where 1<pN,the potential V(x) is a positive bounded function, hLp'(□ N), 1/p'+1/p=1, 1<pN, h≥0, h≠0f(s) is nonlinearity asymptotical to sp-1at infinity, that is, f(s)~O(sp-1) as s→+∞. The aim of this paper is to discuss how to use the Mountain Pass theorem to show the existence of positive solutions of the present problem. Under appropriate assumptions on V, K, h and f, we prove that problem (*) has at least two positive solutions even if the nonlinearity f(s) does not satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz type condition: 0≤F(u)≤∫uo f(s)ds≤1/p+θ f(u)u, u>0, θ>0.

A Cooling System with a Fan for Thermal Management of High-Power LEDs  [PDF]

Abstract: To improve the heat dissipation of high-power light-emitting diodes (LEDs), a cooling system with a fan is proposed. In the experiment, the LEDs array of 18 W composed of 6 LEDs of 3 W is used and the room temperature is 26ºC. Results show that the temperature of the substrate of LEDs reaches 62ºC without the fan, however, it reaches only 32ºC when the best cooling condition appears. The temperature of the LEDs decreases by 30ºC since the heat produced by LEDs is transferred rapidly by the fan. The experiment demonstrates that the cooling system with the fan has good performance.

A Multipath Routing Algorithm Based on Traffic Prediction in Wireless Mesh Networks  [PDF]

Abstract: The technology of QoS routing has become a great challenge in Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs). There exist a lot of literatures on QoS routing in WMNs, but the current algorithms have some deficiencies, such as high complexity, poor scalability and flexibility. To solve the problems above, a multipath routing algorithm based on traffic prediction (MRATP) is proposed in WMNs. MRATP consists of three modules including an algo-rithm on multipath routing built, a congestion discovery mechanism based on wavelet-neural network and a load balancing algorithm via multipath. Simulation results show that MRATP has some characteristics, such as better scalability, flexibility and robustness. Compared with the current algorithms, MRATP has higher success ratio, lower end to end delay and overhead. So MRATP can guarantee the end to end QoS of WMNs.

Abstract: In this paper, we focus on a class of nonlinear bilevel programming problems where the follower’s objective is a function of the linear expression of all variables, and the follower’s constraint functions are convex with respect to the follower’s variables. First, based on the features of the follower’s problem, we give a new decomposition scheme by which the follower’s optimal solution can be obtained easily. Then, to solve efficiently this class of problems by using evolutionary algorithm, novel evolutionary operators are designed by considering the best individuals and the diversity of individuals in the populations. Finally, based on these techniques, a new evolutionary algorithm is proposed. The numerical results on 20 test problems illustrate that the proposed algorithm is efficient and stable.
DEA Models for the Efficiency Evaluation of System Composed of Parallel Subsystems  [PDF]

Abstract: The perspective of internal structure of the decision making units (DMUs) was considered as the “black box” when employing data envelopment analysis (DEA) models. However, in the actual world there are always some DMUs that are composed of several sub-units or subsystems, each utilizes the same inputs to generate same outputs. Numerous instances can be listed, such as a firm with a few of plants. In this paper we present models that evaluated the efficiency of DMU which is comprised of same several parallel subsystems, the foremost contribution of our work is that we take the different importance of the subsystems into account in the model, which can be obviously distinguished to the existing DEA model. Secondly, since the alternative optimal multipliers may emerge in the model, the efficiency of each subsystem may be non-unique and we simultaneously develop models of efficiency decomposition for each subsystem. At last a case of technological innovation activities of each province in China is used as an example to state the models.

Prostate cancer (PC) is one of the most common causes of cancer-related death in the world among old men. Radical prostatectomy (RP) is the most common surgical procedure in treatments. However, the complications after RRP always confuse surgeons. Urinary incontinence, impotence, erectile dysfunction frequently have effects on the quality of life after RP on patients occurred PC. Inguinal hernias (IHs) after RP is the most common complication, especially indirect hernias. Thus, patients occurred post-IH are frequently performed secondary surgery. In recent years, urologists have explored different surgical techniques, managements, and preoperationly detections to prevent the development of IH postoperationly. However, the precise mechanism of this procedure occurred is unclear till now. Some retrospective studies have been performed to explore the occurence of IH post-RRP and prophylactic techniques to prevent or decrease IH occurred after RRP. Disappointingly, there is no one efficient and precise method influenced this procedure occurred. We reviewed recent studies about IH after RP through different approaches to evaluate the development of this procedure.

SAR Imaging of Moving Target Based on Quadratic Phase Function  [PDF]

In this paper, a novel signal processing technique hasbeen developed to refocus moving targets image from their smeared responses in the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image according to the characteristics of the received signals for moving targets. Quadratic Phase Function is introduced to the parameters estimation for moving target echo and SAR imaging. Our method is available even under a low SNR environment and acquiring an exact SAR image of moving targets. The simulated results demonstrated the validity of the algorithm proposed.

Blunt Traumatic Pericardial Rupture
—Case Report and Literature Review

Pericardial rupture following blunt chest trauma is rare and associated with high mortality rate ranging from 30% to 64%. We review 42 cases which have been reported in the literature in last 17 years and report a case of our own. We have found that 83% of the cases were men with a mean age of 49 years. The most frequent cause was traffic accidents (79%). Preoperative diagnosis of traumatic rupture of the pericardium has been improved in recent 17 years, and the result is satisfactory. Early detection, timely treatment is the key. Pneumopericardium may be a valuable radiographic clue for diagnosis. The management of pericardial rupture is mainly to avoid the risk of cardiac strangulation or acute tamponade. If the injury is recognized timely, treatment is simple and effective.
