Numerical Investigation on Vortex Structure and Aerodynamic Noise Performance of Small Axial Flow Fan  [PDF]

Abstract: The details of unsteady flow field in small axial fans are described and the relationship between the internal flow char- acteristics and aerodynamic noise of small axial flow fans are explored in the manuscript. Firstly, the broadband noise model is introduced to calculate the distributions of broadband noise sources in fan’s internal flow field, and further fan’s internal flow characteristics affecting broadband noise sources are analyzed by the main distributions of broad- band noise sources. Secondly, the unsteady characteristics of vortex structure in fan’s internal flow field are analyzed by large eddy simulation, and FH-W acoustic model is introduced to calculate aerodynamic noise affected by the unsteady characteristics of vortex structure. Finally, Monitoring points are set up near and far field of small axial fans, at which sound pressure level and spectral characteristics are analyzed. The results show that broadband noise sources are mainly distributed at the tip clearance close to blade trailing edge and one third of chord length of blade trailing edge of small axial fans. The maximum sound power of broadband noise sources at the tip clearance is greater than that at blade trail- ing edge. Sound power level of broadband noise near one third of blade chord length of blade trailing edge is first in- creasing and then decreasing when the distance between radial planes and the center of fan hub increases. Fan’s internal flow characteristics affecting broadband noise sources are the tip leakage vortex and the trailing edge vortex shedding. The tip leakage vortices at the leading edge of blade tip first integrate and then break down, while vortex cores of the trailing edge vortex shedding gradually move from blade hub to one-third of blade chord

In this paper, Let R is a ring, G be a finite group of ring automorphisms of R. R*G denote the skew group ring of R under G. We investigate the right p.q.-Baer property of skew group rings under finite group action, Assume that R is a semiprime ring with a finite group G of X-outer ring automorphisms of R, then 1) R*G is p.q.-Baer if and only if R is G-p.q.-Baer; 2) if R is p.q.-Baer, then R*G is p.q.-Baer.

The helix surface of sugar ring for tetrahydrofuran  [PDF]

Abstract:

The present calculations of three geometry conformation for tetrahydrofuran (THF, C4H8O) using density functional theory lead to the energy level sequence E(C1) < E(Cs) < E(C2v), where, both the geometry symmetry C2v and Cs are probably a transition structure. The C1 symmetry is the equilibrium conformation, for its energy is the lowest one and it is only possible without the negative harmonic frequency. In C1 conformation, the 4 of carbon atoms C and oxygen atom O constitute a curved surface or the helix surface. The tetrahydrofuran molecule can be as a simple prototype of deoxyribose and has been reviving a quite deal of interest in radiation damage research. It is well known that the sugar ring of deoxyribose is considered as a plane in most of the references. If the equilibrium conformation of THF is C1 symmetry with the helix surface, and for the same reason, the sugar ring of deoxyribose would be also the helix surface; this probably causes the double helix of DNA. It is hardly believed that the sugar ring is a plane in deoxyribose.

Analyses and Numerical Modeling of Gravity Waves Generated by Flow over Nanling Mountains  [PDF]

Abstract: Although there have been many observational and modeling studies of gravity waves excited by topograpghy, the detailed structure and its changes in real world are still poorly understood. The interaction of topography and background flow are described in details for a better understanding of the gravity waves observed by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) satellite imagery over Nanling Mountains. The evolutionary process and spatial structure of gravity waves were investigated by using almost all available observational data, including MODIS satellite imagery, the Final Analyses (FNL) data issued by National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), the aerosol backscattering signal data from Lidar, the surface observational data and the sounding data of Nanling mountain regions. In order to study its development mechanism, choosing the initial sounding of Jiangxi Gaizhou station located in the upstream of Nanling regions, and using the Advanced Regional Prediction System (ARPS), the numerical simulation was performed. It is shown that the ARPS model reproduced the main features of gravity waves reasonably well, where the gravity waves and turbulent mixed layer are consistent with the satellite image and the aerosol backscattering signal from Lidar observation. It is well-known that gravity wave-induced turbulence and thus turbulent mixing could affect the local composition of chemical species, which plays a significant role in the formation of low visibility and precipitation associated with local orography.
