Variation in daily flight activity and foraging patterns in colonies of uru?u - Melipona scutellaris Latreille (Apidae, Meliponini)
Pierrot, Leonardo Monteiro;Schlindwein, Clemens;
Revista Brasileira de Zoologia , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-81752003000400001
Abstract: the flight activities of five colonies of melipona (michmelia) scutellaris latreille, 1811 kept among mixed fruit crop plantations in within fragments of atlantic rainforest in pernambuco, ne-brazil was examined. the daily deployment of foragers to collect pollen, nectar, resin and mud was observed. the colonies performed between 2,640 and 14,250 flights per day. variations in the number of total daily flights were similar between colonies on all observation days. proportional allocation of foragers to the different resources also among colonies showed similar variation. more than 90% of the pollen collection flights were made early in the morning. nectar was collected in similar proportional frequencies with a reduction in activity at noon. on a single day, was observed atypical intense pollen foraging during the afternoon by all colonies. this indicates a high plasticity in foraging behaviour and efficient recruitment to resources which are presented by mass flowering trees with synchronised big bang or multiple bang flowering. resource availability of the surrounding vegetation, therefore, seems to be the major factor in defining the forager activities on a given day.
Patient Satisfaction and Self-perceveid Health in Primary Care A satisfa o do usuário e a autopercep o da saúde em aten o primária

Abstract: The Brazilian Ministry of Health has signaled a policy of evaluating the quality of primary care through the 1654 decree of 19.07.2011. Any organizational change interferes with the culture of any institution, especially when this change is directed toward the issue of quality. It involves processes, internal resources and people, and cannot be artificially produced by the power of the pen. In the health sector, management based on quality involves changes in business focus and technology, supported the rescue of professional-patient relationship, in the form of compensation of physicians and teams, in the qualification and training of professional, in qualifications in their own management, and in active participation of health professionals in the Agreement on these goals and quality parameters. Other instruments of quality assessment have been established within the Primary Care in public health sub-system, and its follow-up was interrupted. Qualifying the Primary is not just about evaluation, but also the selection of qualified professionals, qualification of services, monitoring results and valuation of health professionals involved with the new culture. El Ministerio de Salud de Brasil ha dado se ales de una política de evaluación de la calidad de la atención primaria a través del decreto 1654 de 19.07.2011. Cualquier cambio en la organización interfiere con la cultura de cualquier institución, sobre todo cuando este cambio se dirige hacia el tema de la calidad. Implica en procesos internos, recursos y personas, y no puede ser producido artificialmente por el poder de la pluma. En el sector de la salud, la administración basada en la gestión de calidad implica en cambios en el enfoque de negocio y la tecnología apoyada en lo rescate de la relación profesional-paciente, en la forma de compensación de equipos y médicos, en la cualificación y formación de los profesionales, en la cualificación en su propia gestión y en la participación activa de profesionales de la salud en el acuerdo sobre los objetivos y parámetros de calidad. Otros instrumentos de evaluación de la calidad se han establecido dentro de la Atención Primaria en el sistema de salud sub-público, y su seguimiento se interrumpió. La cualificación de la atención primaria no ocurre sólo por la evaluación, pero también por la selección de profesionales cualificados, la calificación de servicios, lo seguimiento de los resultados y la valoración de los profesionales de la salud involucrados con la nueva cultura. Garotti, Leonardo Monteiro;Barbassa, Ademir Paceli;
Engenharia Sanitaria e Ambiental , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-41522010000100003
Abstract: this paper presents a study of characterization of land occupation and its use in the city of ribeir?o preto (s?o paulo), as well as a detailed analysis of the urban imperviousness and hydraulic connectivity of the plots. the runoff coefficient (c) for siz sub-basins was evaluated on the basis of three different definitions. the peaks of outflow for the sub-basins were calculated using the rational method with the estimated values of c. it was identified that the imperviousness increases as the area of the plot decreases. the estimative of the c show important differences in its values, influencing the outflow. the use of tables with detailed and maximal c values beyond its superior limitation is equivalent to the values estimated with cdcia. it is recommended that the cdcia relative to the area be estimated based on the plot or field researches.
Modelo adaptativo de conforto para avalia??o in loco de espa?os urbanos abertos
Monteiro, Leonardo Marques;Alucci, Marcia Peinado;
Ambiente Construído , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1678-86212012000100005
Abstract: open urban spaces allow less control of environmental variables than enclosed spaces, which present a higher degree of confinement. by contrast, the possibility of users' adaptation in open spaces is higher due to their predominant uses. the aim of this paper is to investigate possible means of thermal adaptation, such as activities, clothing, and acclimation, in order to propose adjustments in the equivalent globe temperature, which is used in the assessment of outdoor urban spaces. data collection involved the quantification of environmental variables and questionnaires, and a comparison of the results of predictive models and different empirical basis. the study considered different physical activities, different sets of clothing, and various conditions of acclimation. the results indicated the need to expand the empirical basis for the data on activities and clothing. with regards to acclimation, considering the average hourly temperature to which the interviewees were exposed in the 30 previous days, it was observed that within the limits of this investigation, the approach of proposing an adjustment to the equivalent globe temperature is appropriate. the results of the adjusted model considering acclimatization showed higher correlation with empirical data than those in the original proposed model.
Compara??o cruzada entre pesquisas laboratoriais e de campo em conforto térmico em espa?os abertos urbanos
Monteiro, Leonardo Marques;Alucci, Márcia Peinado;
Ambiente Construído , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1678-86212010000400007
Abstract: this paper presents a cross comparison between laboratorial and field research in thermal comfort for outdoor urban areas. the aim of this research study is to make a comparative analysis of the data from of empirical laboratory and field databases, collected in the city of s?o paulo. in order to do so, predictive models developed, adapted or used in outdoor thermal comfort studies were considered. at the same time, these models also underwent a comparative analysis, leading to the indication of those with more significant results for different applications. the method adopted is empirical, through laboratory- and field data collection (microclimatic, personal and subjective variables), supported by computer simulations (29 indices related to 20 predictive models). the results of thermal sensation perception in the bairro da luz (field study) showed to be less predictable than those obtained in cidade universitária (laboratory study). with regards to the indices, the heat load, the temperature of equivalent perception, and the new corrected effective temperature presented the most significant results, and their application is suggested.

Abstract: The Cartan-Maurer equations for any $q$-group of the $A_{n-1}, B_n, C_n, D_n$ series are given in a convenient form, which allows their direct computation and clarifies their connection with the $q=1$ case. These equations, defining the field strengths, are essential in the construction of $q$-deformed gauge theories. An explicit expression $\om ^i\we \om^j= -\Z {ij}{kl}\om ^k\we \om^l$ for the $q$-commutations of left-invariant one-forms is found, with $\Z{ij}{kl} \om^k \we \om^l \qonelim \om^j\we\om^i$.
