Farelo de trigo e complexo enzimático na alimenta??o de frangas de reposi??o

Abstract: this study was carried out with the aim of evaluating the effects of the inclusion of the wheat bran (wb) and the addition of an enzymatic complex (ec), amylase, protease and celullase contained, on the performance of semi-heavily pullets from 14 weeks of age and its residual effect on egg-production phase. 288 pullets were used, distributed in a completely randomized design in a factorial arrangment 4x2, being the following levels of wb in the ration: 0 (control), 10, 20 and 30% x 0 or 50g of a ec/100 kg of diet, resulting in eight treatments, with six replicates of six birds. the ec contained the enzymes amylase, protease and celullase. in the growth phase, fi, wg, fc and lw showed better for the birds that received the diets without ft. the addition of the ec decreased the consumption in the diets with 0 and 30% of wb. during the production phase, the use ec in the level 0% of wb increased lw of the birds, but it reduced in the level 30% of wb. the production of eggs fell in the level of 20% of wb when the diet was supllementing with ec. the feed conversion in the level of 10% of wb was similar to the control. quadratic effect of the level of wb was observed on the feed egg-mass conversion, that was better with 8,01%. therefore, it is recommended up to 8.01% of inclusion of the wheat bran in the ration of semi-heavily pullets from 14 to 19 weeks of age.

Abstract: fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva is a rare hereditary connective tissue disease characterized by disseminated soft tissue ossification and congenital abnormality of the extremities. it is genetically inherited as a dominant trait with complete penetrance but variable expression. the onset takes place during childhood and the progressive involvement of the spine and proximal extremities leads to immobilization and articular deformity. we report a case of a 22-year-old male patient with typical symptoms of fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva and discuss the new advances in the diagnosis and pathophysiology.

Abstract: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a multidetermined phenomenon of high incidence affecting children, adolescents and adults worldwide, resulting in impairment in several areas of development such as social relationships, academic performance, professional and romantic relationships. The objective of this study was to review systematically the literature to verify the epidemiological picture of the disorder under three main aspects: 1) what is the ADHA definition; 2) what is the epidemiology of the disorder; and 3) what are the instruments used for diagnostic evaluation. The search was performed in the database Periódicos CAPES, PsicInfo, and MedLine using the keywords “Epidemiology and ADHD” and its correlation in English and Spanish. 331 articles, of which only 21 met the inclusion criteria, were retrieved. The results suggest that there is a consensus on the ADHD definition; however epidemiological data ranged from 0.04% to 24.5%. The studies also varied as to the use of diagnostic instruments, being more used the DSM-IV criteria.

Abstract: background and objectives: ross procedure is one of the surgical procedures for correction of severe congenital aortic insufficiency. intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography is essential for optimal surgical evaluation. furthermore, it is able to assess the blood volume profile and the need for administration of vasoactive drugs during surgery. case report: this is a 15-year old teenager with severe congenital aortic insufficiency scheduled for corrective surgery with the ross procedure. in the operating room, the patient was monitored with electrocardiography and pulse oximeter, and he was premedicated with midazolam. after the administration of premedication, the left radial artery and right subclavian vein were punctured. anesthetic induction was accomplished with etomidate, cisatracurium, and fentanyl while maintenance was achieved with sevoflurane. the probe of the transesophageal echocardiography equipment was introduced immediately after tracheal intubation, showing increased left ventricle; severe aortic insufficiency due to coaptation failure of the three leaflets; and competent pulmonary valve without anatomical and physiological changes. intercurrences were not observed during surgery, with 120 minutes of extracorporeal circulation (ecc) and 8 hours of surgery. immediately after removal from ecc the transesophageal echocardiography showed good function of both the auto- and homograft; however, the right ventricle presented hypocontractility, which was corrected with a bolus of milrinone followed by continuous infusion. the patient was transferred to the postanesthetic recovery unit intubated and hemodynamically stable with infusion of milrinone and sodium nitroprusside. conclusions: ross procedure is one of the techniques for correction of congenital aortic insufficiency in which transesophageal echocardiography guides the surgeon precisely on the physiological and anatomical status of vascular grafts.
Tratamento do cancer colorretal em idosos extremos: relato de caso e revis?o da literatura

Abstract: because the elderly population in brasil is rapidly increasing, the colorectal surgeron will always manage extremely old patients, aged 75 or 85 years or older, with the diagnosis of colorectal cancer. the management of such cases is controversial. this paper reports the treatment of a 97-year-old patient with diagnosis of rectum adenocarcinoma, and presents a literature review on the best approach for old-age patients with colorectal cancer. the patient underwent a palliative laparoscopic retossigmoidectomy and colorectal anastomosis, as the specimen was resected through supra-pubic transverse incision. she was included in the fast-track rehabilitation program for colorectal surgery and had good recovery, being discharged in good clinical conditions on the third postoperative day. pathologic examination of surgical specimen showed a rectum adenocarcinoma with invasion of the muscularis propria and metastasis in 2 of 12 dissected lymph nodes. according to the literature, in selected individuals older than 75 years, elective colorectal surgery for primary colorectal cancer can be performed with morbidity and mortality rates comparable to those of younger individuals, achieving favorable disease-free and overall long-term survival. prognosis or contraindications to the procedure are not defined by isolate comorbidities.

Abstract: To evaluate the productive and economic viability of coconut meal (FC) and enzymatic complex (E) inclusion in diets for growing pigs, it were used 20 homogenous barrows with average weight of 31.15 ± 5.59kg. The animals were distributed in a randomized block design with four treatments, and five replicates each, with an animal as experimental unit. The experimental treatments were: 0%FC – control diet, a corn-soy diet; 20%FC- control diet added of 20% of coconut meal (FC); 20%FC+0,05E – control diet added of 20% of coconut meal, plus 0,05% of enzymatic complex, and 20%FC+0,10E – control diet added of 20% of coconut meal, plus 0,10% of enzymatic complex. Experimental diets had the same level of nutrients. At the end of experimental period, blood samples were taken from each animal. Results demonstrated that coconut meal and enzymatic complex inclusion did not affect the performance and serum parameters of animals, except HDL fraction of cholesterol. In conclusion, the addition of 20% of coconut meal, added or not by enzymatic complex, did not affect the performance of the animals, but the inclusion of 20% of coconut meal without enzymatic complex resulted in economical efficiency. Com o objetivo de avaliar a viabilidade produtiva e econ mica da inclus o do farelo de coco (FC) e complexo enzimático (E) em dietas para suínos na fase de crescimento, utilizaram-se 20 suínos machos castrados de mesma linhagem, com peso médio de 31,15 ± 5,59kg. Os animais foram distribuídos em um delineamento em blocos casualizados com quatro tratamentos, de cinco repeti es cada, com um animal por unidade experimental. Os tratamentos foram: 0%FC - dieta constituída principalmente por milho, farelo de soja; 20%FC- dieta com inclus o de 20% de farelo de coco (FC); 20%FC+0,05E - dieta com inclus o de 20% FC e adi o de 0,05% do complexo enzimático e 20%FC+0,10E - dieta com inclus o de 20% FC e adi o de 0,10% do complexo enzimático. As dietas experimentais foram isonutritivas. Ao final do período experimental, foram colhidas amostras de sangue. Os resultados demonstraram que a inclus o do farelo de coco, e as enzimas n o influenciaram o desempenho produtivo e os parametros séricos, com exce o da fra o HDL do colesterol. Conclui-se que a inclus o de 20% farelo de coco, com ou sem complexo enzimático, n o influenciou o desempenho dos animais, porém a inclus o de 20% do farelo de coco sem adi o de enzimas proporcionou uma melhor eficiência econ mica.

Abstract: Realizou-se este trabalho com o objetivo de avaliar o desempenho produtivo, rendimento de carca a e filé, composi o química da carca a, peso dos órg os do sistema digestório, comprimento relativo de intestino, bem como os índices hepato-somático e de gordura víscero-somática de 120 juvenis de tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum), alimentados com dietas contendo 0, 6 ou 12% de farelo de baba u. N o foi observada influência da inclus o do farelo de baba u nas dietas sobre o desempenho produtivo, rendimento de carca a e filé dos juvenis de tambaqui, bem como para a composi o da carca a. Para as variáveis do trato digestório, n o foram observadas diferen as para o peso das vísceras, para o índice de gordura viscero-somática e para o comprimento relativo do intestino. Houve redu o no índice hepato-somático à medida que ocorreu aumento da inclus o do farelo de baba u nas dietas, possivelmente em resposta à a o de algum fator antinutricional presente no ingrediente. Conclui-se que o farelo de baba u pode ser considerado na composi o das dietas de juvenis de tambaqui até 12% de inclus o. The aim of this work was to evaluate the performance, dressing and fillet percentage, carcass composition, weight of organs of digestive tract, relative intestine length and hepatica-somatica and viscera-somatica fat indexes of 120 tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) fingerlings fed with diets with 0, 6 or 12% of babassu meal. Babassu meal inclusion did not affect the performance, dressing and fillet percentage and carcass composition. Gastrointestinal tract weight, viscera-somatic fat index and relative intestinal length were not affected, although hepatica-somatic index was reduced with increasing levels of babassu meal, possibly due to an antinutritional factor in the feed. In conclusion, babassu meal might be added in fingerlings tambaqui diets at level of 12% of inclusion.
Quality of eggs traded in different markets at Imperatriz, Maranh o, Brazil Qualidade de ovos comercializados em diferentes estabelecimentos na cidade de Imperatriz-MA

Abstract: The experiment was led for evaluating the quality of white eggs from different places (supermarkets, free markets and poultry farm eggs). A completely randomized design was used with three treatments (commercial places) and five replicates (36 eggs for experimental unit). The studied variables were egg weight, integrity of the shell, albume weight, yolk weight, shell weight, albume % , yolk %, shell%, pH of the yolk and pH of the albume. The obtained data were analyzed by the GLM procedure of the SAS program. White eggs of the day (from the farm) and from supermarkets presented the best results (P <0.05) for egg weight and the worst for dirty eggs percentage. Eggs differed (P <0.05) for most of the quality variables, except pH of the yolk. Eggs from supermarkets and free markets are out of the established quality pattern for the suitable category in the label of the packing. Eggs from poultry farm eggs showed the best quality. O experimento foi conduzido para avaliar a qualidade de ovos brancos de granjas de diferentes tipos de estabelecimentos (supermercados, feiras livres e na própria granja). Utilizou-se um delineamento inteiramente casualizado com três tratamentos (estabelecimentos comerciais) e cinco repeti es (36 ovos por parcela experimental). As variáveis estudadas foram: peso dos ovos, integridade da casca, peso do albúmen, peso da casca, % gema, % de albúmen, pH da gema e pH do albúmen. Os dados obtidos foram analisados estatisticamente pelo procedimento GLM do programa SAS. Os ovos brancos do dia (da granja) e os comercializados em supermercados apresentaram melhores resultados (P<0,05) para peso do ovo e pior para porcentagem de ovos sujos. Os ovos diferiram (P<0,05) para a maioria das variáveis de qualidade interna, exceto pH da gema. Conclui-se que os ovos comercializados em supermercados e feiras livres est o fora do padr o de qualidade estabelecido para a categoria indicada no rótulo das embalagens, sendo os comercializados na granja de melhor qualidade.
FARELO DE BABA U EM RA ES PARA FRANGOS DE CORTE NA FASE FINAL: DESEMPENHO E AVALIA O ECONOMICA BABASSU MEAL IN FINISHING BROILERS FOODER: PERFOMANCE, CARCASS YIELD AND ECONOMICAL EVALUATION

Abstract: O experimento foi realizado para avaliar o efeito de diferentes níveis de inclus o do farelo de baba u (0, 3, 6 e 9 e 12%) em dietas à base de milho e farelo de soja para frangos de corte de 21 a 42 dias de idade sobre o desempenho produtivo, rendimento de carca a e avalia o econ mica. Alojaram-se trezentos frangos (machos e fêmeas), linhagem Hubbard, distribuídos em um delineamento inteiramente casualizado com cinco tratamentos (0, 3, 6 e 9 e 12%) e cinco repeti es de doze aves (seis de cada sexo) por unidade experimental. As ra es experimentais foram isonutritivas. A inclus o de até 12% de farelo de baba u nas dietas n o prejudicou as variáveis de desempenho (consumo de ra o, ganho diário de peso e convers o alimentar) e n o influenciou no peso aos 42 dias e no rendimento de carca a (P>0,05). Entretanto, os resultados de receitas bruta e líquida refletem que o uso de farelo de baba u pode ser vantajoso em períodos de entressafra do milho e da soja, permitindo-se incluir em até 6% nas dietas para frangos de corte dos 21 aos 42 dias de idade. The experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of different levels of babassu meal inclusion (0, 3, 6, 9 and 12%) in diets with corn and soybean meal for broilers of 21 to 42 days of age on the productive performance, carcass yield and economic evaluation. 300 Hubbard lineage broilers (both genders) were accommodate and distributed in completely randomized design with five treatments (0, 3, 6 and 9 and 12%) and five replicates of 12 animals (6 of each gender) for experimental unit. The inclusion of up to 12% of babassu meal in the diets did not decrease the performance variables (ration consumption, weight daily gain and feed conversion), neither affecting the weight at 42 days of age and the carcass yield (P>0.05). However, the gross and net incomes reflect the use of babassu meal can be advantageous in periods when corn and soybean meal prices were high, including in up to 6% in broilers’ diets of the 21 to 42 days of age. Abstract: the trend of the mortality from diabetes mellitus in the city of s. paulo, brazil, is presented through a historical series of 79 years (1900 to 1978). a progressive increase in mortality rates was noted until 1960, when they showed a tendency to become stable around 20 per 100.000 inhabitants. the proportional mortality ratio from diabetes mellitus increased more than the rates. for a given point in the period studied (1974/75), mortality from diabetes mellitus was analysed according to the methodology of the multiple causes of death, which made possible the study of the more frequent underlying causes in diabetics and also of the more important associations of causes. in both cases cardiovascular diseases proved to be the most frequent, especially ischemic heart and cerebrovascular diseases, while arterial hypertension was very important as an associated cause.
