Abstract: In the first part of this paper, an analysis of the high-resolution spectrum of the HTO molecule ν1(ν3) band, from 3630 to3950 cm1, was undertaken. The rotational transition of this band was assigned using combination differences. Their wavenumbers were analyzed with a least squares fit program in order to obtain spectroscopic constants. A perturbed state has been evidenced. In the second part, with a view towards building a spectroscopic data base, a calculation of the dipolar momentum function was undertaken.
Detection of 15NH2D in dense cores: A new tool for measuring the 14N/15N ratio in the cold ISM

Abstract: Ammonia is one of the best tracers of cold dense cores. It is also a minor constituent of interstellar ices and, as such, one of the important nitrogen reservoirs in the protosolar nebula, together with the gas phase nitrogen, in the form of N2 and N. An important diagnostic of the various nitrogen sources and reservoirs of nitrogen in the Solar System is the 14N/15N isotopic ratio. While good data exist for the Solar System, corresponding measurements in the interstellar medium are scarce and of low quality. Following the successful detection of the singly, doubly, and triply deuterated isotopologues of ammonia, we have searched for 15NH2D in dense cores, as a new tool for investigating the 14N/15N ratio in dense molecular gas. With the IRAM-30m telescope, we have obtained deep integrations of the ortho 15NH2D (1(1,1)-1(0,1)) line at 86.4 GHz, simultaneously with the corresponding ortho NH2D line at 85.9 GHz. o-15NH2D is detected in Barnard-1b, NGC1333-DCO+, and L1689N, while we obtained upper limits towards LDN1544 and NGC1333-IRAS4A, and a tentative detection towards L134N(S). The 14N/15N abundance ratio in NH2D ranges between 350 and 850, similar to the protosolar value of ~ 424, and likely higher than the terrestrial ratio of 270.

Assessing the Sustainability of Credit Growth: The case of Central and Eastern European Countries

Abstract: Credit growth rates as high as 30% or 50% a year were observed in some Central Eastern European countries (CEECs) in 2006-2007, such as the Baltic States, Bulgaria or Romania. This strong credit growth could have been due to the catching-up process but could also have been excessive, paving the way to the credit crunch that followed the crisis in 2008-2009. We try to assess the excessiveness of credit by applying a number of methods. First, we consider the gap between current credit and its long-term trend and we find some signs of credit booms, in several CEECs in 2005-2007. Second, we assess the "normal" growth of credit with regard to fundamentals through econometric estimations. Credit growth is also shown to have been excessive in several countries just before the 2008-2009 financial crisis.
A distributed algorithm for computing and updating the process number of a forest

Abstract: In this paper, we present a distributed algorithm to compute various parameters of a tree such as the process number, the edge search number or the node search number and so the pathwidth. This algorithm requires n steps, an overall computation time of O(n log(n)), and n messages of size log_3(n)+3. We then propose a distributed algorithm to update the process number (or the node search number, or the edge search number) of each component of a forest after adding or deleting an edge. This second algorithm requires O(D) steps, an overall computation time of O(D log(n)), and O(D) messages of size log_3(n)+3, where D is the diameter of the modified connected component. Finally, we show how to extend our algorithms to trees and forests of unknown size using messages of less than 2a+4+e bits, where a is the parameter to be determined and e=1 for updates algorithms.

The Mediating Role of the Sense of Relatedness and Task Cohesion in the Relation between Psychological Power Distance and Efficicency of a Working Team  [PDF]

Understanding of the effectiveness of work-teams is a major issue in the business world, where they are expected to facilitate developing individual skills and increasing organizations’ efficiency. Eighty-three engineers working in teams have responded to a questionnaire devised to measure perceptual power distances, the sense of relatedness, cohesion measured by integration around the task, and teams’ effectiveness. Results reveal that “task cohesion” and sense of relatedness mediate the relationship between power distance and perceived effectiveness. These results are related with those observed in the context of the self-determination theory and presented in order to highlight their practical implications.

Abstract: Among the most widespread seabirds in the world, shearwaters of the genus Puffinus are also some of the deepest diving members of the Procellariiformes. Maximum diving depths are known for several Puffinus species, but dive depths or diving behaviour have never been recorded for great shearwaters (P. gravis), the largest member of this genus. This study reports the first high sampling rate (2 s) of depth and diving behaviour for Puffinus shearwaters.
ECG Response of Koalas to Tourists Proximity: A Preliminary Study

Abstract: Koalas operate on a tight energy budget and, thus, may not always display behavioral avoidance reaction when placed in a stressful condition. We investigated the physiological response of captive koalas Phascolarctos cinereus in a conservation centre to the presence of tourists walking through their habitat. We compared, using animal-attached data-recorders, the electrocardiogram activity of female koalas in contact with tourists and in a human-free area. One of the koalas in the tourist zone presented elevated heart rate values and variability throughout the recording period. The remaining female in the exhibit area showed a higher field resting heart rates during the daytime than that in the isolated area. In the evening, heart rate profiles changed drastically and both the koalas in the exhibit and in the tourist-free zones displayed similar field resting heart rates, which were lower than those during the day. In parallel, the autonomic nervous systems of these two individuals evolved from sympathetic-dominant during the day to parasympathetic-dominant in the evening. Our results report ECG of free-living koalas for the first time. Although they are preliminary due to the difficulty of having sufficient samples of animals of the same sex and age, our results stress out the importance of studies investigating the physiological reaction of animals to tourists.
