Presenteeism in hospital nurses

Abstract: this quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional research aimed to determine the estimated productivity of health-related limitations at work in 129 nurses working in direct care delivery to critical and potentially critical patients. instruments were applied for socio-demographic and functional characterization and for the evaluation of presenteeism (work limitations questionnaire). statistical package for the social sciences software was used for data analysis. in this study, 75% of nurses obtained a lost productivity index of up to 4.84%. the physical demand domain represented the major limitation for these professionals (25%). presenteeism was directly correlated to health care, occurrence and number of absences, and indirectly related to work time at the unit. it was concluded that organizational or individual factors influence individuals' productivity, in view of the circumstances involving care delivery to critical and potentially critical patients.

Abstract: this study is a literature review with the objective to reflect about stress and coping in the perioperative period of breast cancer. the study was performed based on a national online database including studies published from 1996 to 2006. the search found 63 articles, 17 of which were selected. the selected articles were read, analyzed and grouped into thematic categories: 1) breast cancer as a stressor and impact on the diagnosis; 2) stress and breast cancer treatment; 3) coping and breast cancer; 4) the nurse as a cooperator in the coping process. this study found that national literature about breast cancer is substantial, but there few studies emphasize stress and cancer as a process lived by patients. therefore, further studies should be performed regarding the stressors experienced by brazilian women with breast cancer and the coping strategies they use.
Estresse de enfermeiros em unidade de hemodinamica no Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil

Abstract: this study aimed to evaluate the relationship between stress and symptoms reported by nurses working in units hemodynamics. data were collected by questionnaire. for analysis, the results were considered statistically significant if p<0.05, with an interval of 95% confidence. the population consisted of 63 nurses with a predominance of females (90.5%) and average age of 35.24 (± 8.21) years. most was attended postgraduate (77.8%) and did not have another job (77.8%). the stress, 52.4% of nurses had an average between 1.11 and 1.97, classified as medium stress, and the field was critical situations of the highest score (1.63 ± 0.29). regarding symptoms, the domain skeletal muscle had a higher average (1.39 ± 0.94). in this study, there was high significant positive correlation between stress and symptoms (r=0.629, p<0.001), thus it is concluded that stress is directly related to the symptoms presented by the nurses.

Abstract: Objective: to values the relation cause-effect between the stress and the symptoms presented by the nurses who act in Unities of Hemodynamic of the Rio Grande do Sul. Methods: the data will be collected by a bit a questionnaire for the identification of the nurses and of some aspects made a list to his work (it leaves I); instrument composed by two scales type Likert (Scale of Estressores and Scale of symptoms presented by the nurses) and questions on social habits (part II). Results expected: for the analysis of the data there will be used the program SPSS (Statistical Package will be the Social Sciences), being that the results will be considered statistically significant if p <0,05, with interval of 95 % of confidence.

Abstract: objective: the purpose of this research was to conduct assessment of ergonomic conditions of systems analysts in order to understand the factors causing physical and cognitive overload, its implications for workers and propose improvements to reduce these physical and cognitive overload. methodology: the shtm (human-machine-task) method was used for ergonomic evaluation, the corlett diagram for evaluation of bodily discomfort, questionnaire evaluation of the furniture and the nasa-tlx to assess mental workload. results: it was found a prevalence of pain in the lumbar spine of 71% and 64% of respondents in the cervical spine. after evaluation of mental workload, it was observed that the mental demand was most required among systems analysts and the average loading rate was of 13.23. conclusion: it can be concluded that the high prevalence of musculoskeletal pain may be caused by the presence of inappropriate furniture, adoption of incorrect postures and high mental demand of the developed activities performed by systems analysts.

Abstract: the objective of this quantitative study was to identify stressing factors, level of stress in nurses, overall health conditions, and coping strategies used by nurses in the working environment. data collection was performed using three instruments: a survey for daily activities, an inventory of coping strategies, and an inventory for overall health conditions. the population of this study was composed by 143 nurses, most of them with a low level of stress (55.25%) and with a regular health condition (50.35%). regarding coping forms, problem solving was the factor of highest average. in conclusion, educational actions must be encouraged with an aim to offer tools for professionals to develop coping strategies in their everyday activities, thus minimizing the effect of stress on their health conditions and at work.
Enfermeiros de unidades de hemodinamica do Rio Grande do Sul: perfil e satisfa??o profissional

Abstract: the following cross-sectional study aimed to characterize the socio-demographic and professional profile of nurses who work in a hemo-dynamic ward and identify issues concerning the work and profession. data was collected through questionnaire. the results were considered statistically significant if p <0.05, with an interval of 95.00% confidence. sixty-three (63) nurses were eligible for the conclusion that the profile is predominantly female (90.50%), shows young nurses early in their careers, and short working periods in hemo-dynamic wards, with most of the nurses have completed an undergraduate course (77, 80%). regarding issues related to employment and occupation, it can be seen that most of the nurses received training (58.73%), did not make an effort to go to work (85.71%), were satisfied with the work (85.71%), did not consider the day endless (84.13%), and were not willing to change their profession (90.48%). in all, the units have highly satisfied nurses trained to manage their work processes and to develop their and other team members' skills.

Abstract: it the question is a integrative review that has like objective investigates what has been published on nursing in hemodynamic in the bases of data: scientific electronic library online (scielo), medical literature analysis and retrieval system online (medline), latin american and caribbean health sciences (lilacs), and nursing database (bdenf); with the descriptors: enfermagem and hemodinamica and nursing and hemodynamics. the data indicate that the studies in his majority were developed by nurses, and made a list to the presence of nursing, there were still boarded aspects made a list to the reprocess of catheters and health of the professionals of nursing. nevertheless, it be pruned that it realizes that the publication of connected works the unit of hemodynamic is scarce. however, they demonstrate the predominance of inquiries and reports made a list to the aspects of the presence of nursing in this sector, which can represent the necessities and the problems that permeate the work.
ENFERMEIROS DE UNIDADES DE HEMODIN MICA DO RIO GRANDE DO SUL: PERFIL E SATISFA O PROFISSIONAL

Abstract: El objetivo de este estudio transversal es caracterizar el perfil sociodemográfico y profesional de los enfermeros que trabajan en una unidad de hemodinámica, y determinar cuestiones relativas a su trabajo y profesión. La recolección de los datos se hizo a través de cuestionarios. Los resultados fueron considerados estadísticamente significativos si p <0,05, con intervalo de 95,00% de confianza. Se eligieron 63 enfermeros con perfil predominantemente femenino (90,50%), jóvenes, al comienzo de carrera y con poco período de prácticas en la unidad de hemodinámica, y la mayoría de los enfermeros con postgrado (77,80%). En las cuestiones relacionadas con el empleo y la ocupación se puede ver que la mayoría de los enfermeros recibieron capacitación (58,73%), no hacían ningún esfuerzo para ir a trabajar (85,71), estaban satisfechos con el trabajo (85,71%), no consideraban el día de trabajo interminable (84,13%) y no deseaban cambiar de profesión (90,48%). Las unidades cuentan con enfermeros satisfechos y capacitados para encargarse de su proceso de trabajo y desarrollar sus habilidades y las de los otros miembros del equipo.

Abstract: Os Programas de Residência Multiprofissional buscam romper com os paradigmas em rela o à forma o de profissionais para o Sistema único de Saúde (SUS) e contribuir para qualificar os servi os de saúde a partir de a es inovadoras. Entretanto, características específicas desses programas podem agregar estressores aos residentes e, levarem à Sídrome de Burnout. Dessa forma, verificou-se a ocorrência da Síndrome de Burnout nos Residentes Multiprofissionais da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Este estudo trata-se de um estudo descritivo, transversal e quantitativo. Aplicaram-se um formulário de dados sociodemográficos e o Vers o Human Service Survey do Marlash Burnout Inventory em 37 residentes, entre abril e junho de 2011. Observou-se que 37,84% apresentaram Alta Exaust o Emocional; 43,24%, Alta Despersonaliza o; e 48,65%, Baixa Realiza o Profissional. Na associa o dos domínios, verificou-se que 27% apresentaram indicativo para Síndrome de Burnout. Os residentes pesquisados est o expostos aos estressores da profiss o e da forma o, o que pode favorecer a ocorrência da síndrome nesses profissionais. Los Programas de Residencia Multiprofesional buscan romper los paradigmas relativos a la formación de profesionales para el Sistema único de Salud (SUS) y contribuir a calificar los servicios de salud con acciones innovadoras. Sin embargo, las características específicas de estos programas se pueden a adir estrés a los residentes y llevar a la Síndrome Burnout. Se verificó la presencia de Síndrome de Burnout en los Residentes Multiprofesionales de la Universidad Federal de Santa Maria. Estudio descriptivo, transversal, cuantitativo. Se aplicó un formulario de datos sociodemográficos y el Versión Human Service Survey del Marlash Burnout Inventory a 37 residentes de abril a junio de 2011. Se observó que 37,84% presentaba Alto Agotamiento Emocional, 43,4% Alta Despersonalización y 48,65% Baja Realización Profesional. En la asociación de dominios, se verificó que 27% presentaba indicativo de Síndrome de Burnout. Los residentes investigados están expuestos a los estresores de la profesión y de la formación, lo cual puede favorecer la aparición del síndrome entre ellos.
