Abstract: Tianjin is an integral and important city in China. Tianjin’s development influences China’s development. In today’s society, the coordinated development of Beijing and Tianjin has become a key consideration. It is also a goal we should strive; therefore, the development of Tianjin is one of the focuses of our study. This paper uses SPSS analysis. The data include agricultural output, the number of enterprises, logistics and transport. This paper studies the main factors in Tianjin, and we use the method of principal component analysis. Agriculture and heavy industry are quite developed in Tianjin. The paper also studies the common development of Tianjin. We concluded that we cannot ignore the simultaneous development of agriculture and heavy industry. In addition, we also study the Tianjin’s logistics transportation equipment. We have come to the main road and rail transportation equipment. Finally, we do a short-term forecast on the amount of goods, which proves the feasibility of SPSS analysis.
Cyber-Physical-Social Based Security Architecture for Future Internet of Things  [PDF]
Huansheng Ning, Hong Liu
Advances in Internet of Things (AIT) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ait.2012.21001
Abstract: As the Internet of Things (IoT) is emerging as an attractive paradigm, a typical IoT architecture that U2IoT (Unit IoT and Ubiquitous IoT) model has been presented for the future IoT. Based on the U2IoT model, this paper proposes a cyber-physical-social based security architecture (IPM) to deal with Information, Physical, and Management security perspectives, and presents how the architectural abstractions support U2IoT model. In particular, 1) an information security model is established to describe the mapping relations among U2IoT, security layer, and security requirement, in which social layer and additional intelligence and compatibility properties are infused into IPM; 2) physical security referring to the external context and inherent infrastructure are inspired by artificial immune algorithms; 3) recommended security strategies are suggested for social management control. The proposed IPM combining the cyber world, physical world and human social provides constructive proposal towards the future IoT security and privacy protection.
Steffensen-Type Method of Super Third-Order Convergence for Solving Nonlinear Equations  [PDF]
Zhongli Liu, Hong Zhang
Journal of Applied Mathematics and Physics (JAMP) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jamp.2014.27064
Abstract:

In this paper, a one-step Steffensen-type method with super-cubic convergence for solving nonlinear equations is suggested. The convergence order 3.383 is proved theoretically and demonstrated numerically. This super-cubic convergence is obtained by self-accelerating second-order Steffensen’s method twice with memory, but without any new function evaluations. The proposed method is very efficient and convenient, since it is still a derivative-free two-point method. Its theoretical results and high computational efficiency is confirmed by Numerical examples.

Zhenghao Liu, Hong Chen
World Journal of Mechanics (WJM) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/wjm.2016.61001
Abstract: By means of Solid Works, three-dimensional model of automated assembly system was established, and kinematic simulation based on Solid Works Motion of assembly process for relay was performed. The simulation results proved the feasibility of mechanical design. Eventually, the productivity was estimated based on simulation analysis. The mechanical design provided a solution with high reference value to practical design of automated assembly system for relay.
India’s Tea Price Analysis Based on ARMA Model  [PDF]
Hong Liu, Shuang Shao
Modern Economy (ME) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/me.2016.72014
Abstract: In this paper, the ARMA model is used to analyze the sample of India’s weekly tea auction price in the year 2013 to 2014. First, the data were tested for stability, autocorrelation and partial correlation test, and the ARMA (1, 1) model was established. Then, the parameters of the model are determined, and the residuals are tested by white noise. The test results are satisfactory and meet the forecast requirements. Finally, we use the model to predict the tea price of the last week in 2014 and the tea price of the first two weeks in 2015, and the prediction error is small. Therefore, this paper suggests that a mature tea auction market should be established in China which is a big exporter of tea production, and we should set an early warning mechanism for the price of tea, and use the price information to guide the production of tea cultivation and sales activities.
Public Perception Survey Study on Air Quality Issues in Wuhan, China  [PDF]
Haiying Liu, Mike Kobernus, Hong Liu
Journal of Environmental Protection (JEP) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/jep.2017.810075
Abstract: In 2013, a survey on air quality (AQ) was conducted in Wuhan, China. The aim was to investigate public awareness of air pollution, and its epidemiological effect. This survey targeted both suburban and central city regions of Wuhan city, between August and December of 2013, where it engaged 1225 participants. Approximately 65% perceived AQ in Wuhan to be “bad”. Over 95% recognized a causal association between air pollution and human health. About 65% were unaware of any action taken by the government to mitigate the air pollution situation. 84% indicated that the government should shut down highly polluting enterprises, while 95% expressed willingness to reduce private use of vehicles if required. The results demonstrate that the citizens of Wuhan are concerned about air pollution issues, and agree that improving AQ is the obligation of all citizens. Further, they called for concrete actions to improve AQ. The survey emphasized the need for better education and more activities to raise environmental awareness. The innovative aspects of this survey were the exploration of participants’ perceptions of AQ issues and the survey results may influence local government to impose stricter regulations, and to develop more effective programs involving citizens.

Abstract: We review some recent applications of the AdS/CFT correspondence to heavy ion collisions including a calculation of the jet quenching parameter in N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory and quarkonium suppression from velocity scaling of the screening length for a heavy quark-antiquark pair. We also briefly discuss differences and similarities between QCD and N=4 Super-Yang-Mills theory.
The Perplexing Choice in Existence Predicament: An Existential Interpretation of Burgess’s A Clockwork Orange
Hong LIU
Studies in Literature and Language , 2010,
Abstract: Anthony Burgess’s novel A Clockwork Orange explores human being’s predicament of freedom—the contradiction between Libertarianism and Totalitarianism. The issues Burgess explores in this fiction share affinities with what Sartrean existentialism elucidate. The focus of this article is “Choice and Responsibility” according to the basic Sartrean principles such as freedom, choice, responsibility to probe into the profound social significance contained in the novel: the authentic freedom is the freedom to choose.
Transnational Chinese Sphere in Singapore: Dynamics, Transformations and Characteristics
Hong Liu
Journal of Current Chinese Affairs , 2012,
Abstract: Based upon an empirical analysis of Singaporean Chinese’s intriguing and changing linkages with China over the past half century, this paper suggests that multi-layered interactions between the Chinese diaspora and the homeland have led to the formulation of an emerging transnational Chinese social sphere, which has three main characteristics: First, it is a space for communication by ethnic Chinese abroad with their hometown/ homeland through steady and extensive flows of people, ideas, goods and capital that transcend the nation-state borders, although states also play an important role in shaping the nature and characteristics of these flows. Second, this transnational social sphere constitutes a dynamic interface between economy, politics and culture, which has contributed to creating a collective diasporic identity as well as social and business networks. Third, the key institutional mechanism of the transnational social sphere is various types of Chinese organizations – ranging from hometown associations to professional organizations – which serve as integral components of Chinese social and business networks.
