Optical transition of the charged excitons in InAs single quantum dots

Abstract: Quantum dot (QD) samples studied in the experiment are grown by molecular-beam epitaxy on semi-insulating GaAs substrates. The photoluminescences (PLs) of the excitons in a single QD are measured at 5 K. The PL spectra of the excitons, biexcitons and charged excitons are identified by measuring and analyzing both PL peaks of the circular and linear polarization and power-dependent PL properties. The charged exciton emissions can be tuned by applying a bias voltage, i.e., negatively charged excitons are changed into positively charged excitons by changing the voltage from 1.0 to -1.0 V. It is shown that the electron-spin will slowly relax compared with that of the hole when they relax from wetting layer into the QD.
TGF-beta1 immunohistochemistry and promoter methylation in chronic renal failure rats treated with Uremic Clearance Granules.

Abstract: The aim of the study was the explain the mechanism related to therapeutic effects of Uremic Clearance Granules (Niaoduqing Keli in Chinese) on adenine-induced Chronic Renal Failure in rats. Thirty 8-week-old male Wistar rats were selected and randomly divided in to 3 groups: Normal Control Group (NCG)consisted of 10 rats, Chronic Renal Failure Pathological Control Group (PCG) 10 rats, and Uremic Clearance Granules Treatment Group (UCG) 10 rats. Each rat in PCG and UCG was fed with adenine-enriched diets, containing 10 g adenine per kg food for 6 weeks. After fed with adenine, each rat in UCG was administered orally with 2 ml solution of Uremic Clearance Granules for 6 weeks. The concentration of Uremic Clearance Granules solution was 0.42 g/ml which was 10 times of human. On days 42 and 84, the serum levels of creatinine, Blood Urea Nitrogen and homocysteine were determined. The methylation of TGFbeta1 promoter was tested by methylation-specific PCR. TGF-beta1 mRNA and protein expression in rat renal cortex were analyzed by real-time RT-PCR and Immunohistochemistry. (1) Experimented on model of Chronic Renal Failure in rats, the preparation was proved to be able to reduce serum creatinine, Blood Urea Nitrogen, and homocysteine (p<0.05), improve renal function. (2) The expression of TGF-beta1 in mRNA and protein level were down-regulated. (3) TGF-beta1 promoter was demethylated at some loci in PCG, and was recovered in UCG. After treatment with Uremic Clearance Granules, the Chronic Renal Failure Wistar rat's kidney function was recovered. The recovery may be result of the remethylation of TGF-beta1 promoter and then lead to TGF-beta1 be transcripted and translated normally. The experimental study explain the molecular mechanism by which Uremic Clearance Granules treat Chronic Renal Failure.
Coherence Induced by Incoherent Pumping Field and Decay Process in Three-level $Λ$ Type Atomic System

Abstract: Following the method of Victor V. Kozlov et al.[PhysRevA. 74. 063829],we inspect the coherence induced by incoherent pump and spontaneous decay process in $\Lambda$ type three-level atomic system with degenerated lower duplicate levels. The system shows a coherent population trapping state and multi-steady states characteristic in different conditions. Interestingly, two kinds of steady states generated by the system in different sets of pumping and decaying parameters, the "singlet" state and the "triplet" state, exhibit stable or unstable characteristics under the action of pumping field and vacuum reservoir, which promise fruitful applications to atomic coherence and interference in quantum optics.
Quantum Coherence Effects in Four-level Diamond Atomic System

Abstract: A symmetric four-level closed-loop $\diamondsuit$ type (the diamond structure) atomic system driven by four coherent optical fields is investigated. The system shows rich quantum interference and coherence features. When symmetry of the system is broken, interesting phenomena such as single and double dark resonances appear. As a result, the double electromagnetically induced transparency effect is generated, which will facilitate the implementation of quantum phase gate operation.
Transport of overdamped Brownian particles in a two-dimensional tube: Nonadiabatic regime

Abstract: Transport of overdamped Brownian particles in a two-dimensional asymmetric tube is investigated in the presence of nonadiabatic periodic driving forces. By using Brownian dynamics simulations we can find that the phenomena in nonadiabatic regime differ from that in adiabatic case. The direction of the current can be reversed by tuning the driving frequency. Remarkably, the current as a function of the driving amplitude exhibits several local maxima at finite driving frequency.
Directed transport driven by the transverse wall vibration

Abstract: Directed transport of overdamped Brownian particles in an asymmetrically periodic tube is investigated in the presence of the tube wall vibration. From the Brownian dynamics simulations we can find that the perpendicular wall vibration can induce a net current in the longitudinal direction when the tube is asymmetric. The direction of the current at low frequency is opposite to that at high frequency. One can change the direction of the current by suitably tailoring the frequency of the wall vibration.

Abstract: A highly efficient synthesis of alkyl ferulates under microwave irradiation is described. The time of these reactions ranged from 3 to 5 minutes, which was much shorter than the traditional synthetic methods, and the alkyl ferulates were obtained in higher yields.
