Monteiro, Letícia Portieri;Smole, Kátia Stocco;
Educa??o e Pesquisa , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-97022010000100011
Abstract: in 1999 the rio de janeiro council for jewish education set in motion the innovative education program (pie) at the israeli schools of rio de janeiro with the purpose of following the recent trends of brazilian education. the present work has as its objective to analyze the changes occurred in the school atmosphere since the onset and implementation of the program at a jewish school in rio. the program's central idea is to work with the concepts of active learning and multiple intelligences as proposed by piaget, dewey, and gardner. to analyze the pie we used a qualitative approach with the participants of the study through semi-structured interviews and observations in classrooms of the 1st to 5th years of fundamental education. the analysis of the data was based on the theoretical framework. the results indicate that, after the implementation of the program, the professionals involved gained in motivation to search for information and refresh their knowledge in order to attend to the differences between the pupils, making use of diversified strategies and thus encouraging a more dynamic work that facilitates the development of students' autonomy. in terms of difficulties faced in the development of the program, there was mention to the need to revise timetables, and to the fact that teachers now have to go through more extensive curricula. the school is still in the process of adapting to this innovative program, and therefore it is very important that the professionals involved constantly reevaluate the development of the program, trying to identify modifications and alternatives as difficulties arise.
Can Digital Games Be a Way of Improving the Neuroplasticity in Stroke Damage? Can the Adult Brain Grow New Cells or Rewire Itself in Response to a New Experience?  [PDF]
Livia Stocco Sanches Valentin
Open Journal of Medical Psychology (OJMP) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ojmp.2017.62013
Abstract: Exploratory studies developed at several neurosciences laboratories at universities around the world show us through the experience that there is a biological process called neuroplasticity. Because of this oldest concept about the neuronal formation, scientists also thought that if a particular area of the adult brain was damaged, the nerve cells could not form new connections and the functions controlled by this field of the brain would be permanently lost or could not be regenerate. However, studies have overturned this old view, and currently, scientists recognize that the brain continues to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections during the life. This phenomenon is called neuroplasticity that refers to the potential which the brain should be reorganized by creating new neural pathways to adapt, as it needs.

Abstract: this work is based on an analysis of documents establishing distance learning in brazil, more specifically on the decree that regulates it and on the quality benchmarks for higher distance learning. the analysis emphasizes two aspects: the expansion logic of higher education that also affects the distance mode and is intrinsic to this type of education, and the logic established in its organization, founded, independently of the nature of the universities or colleges, on the items needed to implement their systems. since these logics complement each other, the provision of distance learning, both in the public and private sectors, presents a very similar model, which conditions the quality of the courses and show their "place" in higher education.

Experimentar, devir, contagiar: o que pode um corpo?
Kasper, Kátia Maria;
Pro-Posi??es , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-73072009000300013
Abstract: allied to clowns - and also to shamans and others - we investigate the power of a body, in resonance with singularization processes. the clown's body - with its power of affecting and being affected, with a logic of its own, involving ways to feel, think, and act singularly - is one of the axles for the construction of a clown. one's initiation as a clown - as it is practiced at lume: interdisciplinary centre for theatrical research at unicamp - becomes an experience of 'becoming someone else', inventing other kinds of affection, involving an attitude of listening to the world with the whole body, in an alert state and, at the same time, of great dedication and availability. it is related to the resonances of encounters, of something that occurs between a clown and another person. the ethical, political, aesthetic and philosophical dimensions are imbricated in this aspect of affirmation of life, and in the construction of other modes of existence.
