Impact of Liquid Crystals in Active and Adaptive Optics
Justo Arines
Materials , 2009, DOI: 10.3390/ma2020549
Abstract: Active and dynamic modulation of light has been one of major contributions of liquid crystals to Optics. The spectrum of application range from signposting panels to high resolution imaging. The development of new materials is the key to continued progress in this field. To promote this we will present in this paper recent uses of liquid crystals as active or adaptive modulators of light. Besides, we will reflect on their current limitations. We expect with this to contribute to the progress in the field of liquid crystals and thus the development of new useful tools for Active and Adaptive Optics.
La representación contemporánea del cuerpo desnudo: El objeto sexual en el cambio de siglo XX al XXI
Justo,Isabel;
Olivar , 2011,
Abstract: the changes that feminist thought has occurred in our personality as a society, the way we lead and express, invite to work on them thoroughly. in this paper, discusses some works of feminist and "post-feminist" artists, relates these artists with the tradition of representing the human body in art history. the term sexual object is not an epithet that applies only to females today. male and female images are used by the consumer society to sell their products. the particular ways of thinking and presenting the body as waste or spoil, or consumable appears in both genders. from the perspective of representing the human body we must consider the new strategies emerging from the respect for social rights of women.

From the perspective of representing the human body we must consider the new strategies emerging from the respect for social rights of women Los cambios que el pensamiento feminista ha producido en nuestra personalidad como sociedad, en nuestra manera de conducirnos y expresarnos, invitan a trabajar sobre ellos en profundidad.
Martins, Elisa Justo;Giugliani, Elsa Regina Justo;
Jornal de Pediatria , 2012, DOI: 10.2223/JPED.2154
Abstract: objective: to identify factors associated with continuation of breastfeeding for 2 years or more. methods: this was a cohort study that followed 151 children recruited at the hospital de clínicas in porto alegre, brazil, from birth until ages ranging from 3 to 5 years. mothers were interviewed in person in the maternity unit, at 7 and 30 days after delivery, and when their children were from 3 to 5 years old. interviews were also conducted at 60, 120 and 180 days, by telephone when possible, or during a home visit otherwise. associations between the outcome (breastfeeding for 2 years or more) and explanatory variables were investigated using poisson regression within a hierarchical model. results: the following variables had positive associations with the outcome: mother staying at home with her child for the first 6 months [relative risk (rr) = 2.13; 95% confidence interval (95%ci) 1.12-4.05]; not using a pacifier (rr = 2.45; 95%ci 1.58-3.81); and later introduction of water and/or teas and of other milks. each extra day that these liquids were not introduced was associated with 0.5% and 0.1% greater probability of the child being breastfed beyond 2 years, respectively. cohabitation with the child’s father had a negative association with the outcome (rr = 0.61; 95%ci 0.37-0.99). conclusion: mothers staying at home with their children for the first 6 months of their lives, not cohabiting with a partner, not giving their children pacifiers and delaying introduction of water and/or teas and of other milks are characteristics and behaviors associated with continuation of breastfeeding for 2 years or more.
A creative relaxation programme and its incidence on children’s motor creativity
Eduardo Justo Martínez,Clemente Franco Justo
Revista Electronica Interuniversitaria de Formación del Profesorado , 2008,
Abstract: In this study we analyse the effects that a creative relaxation programme can have on the levels of motor creativity (fluidity, originality and imagination) of a group of children in the last year of Infant Education. For this purpose, two groups of children took part: a control group that did not receive an intervention programme and an experimental group that received a creative relaxation programme. The levels of motor creativity of the two groups were assessed using the test Thinking Creatively in Action and Movement by Torrance. A significant improvement in the variables studied was perceived in the experimental group in comparison to the control group.

Boletín de la Sociedad Chilena de Química , 2002, DOI: 10.4067/S0366-16442002000100007
Abstract: urea formaldehyde resins were prepared in a two step condensations process with molar ratios of formaldehyde / urea that fluctuated between 1.10 - 1.40. the thermal behavior of the curing process was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (dsc) under different environmental conditions. the dsc thermograms of uf resins, with nh4cl as catalyst, showed that main crosslinking reactions, for resins with low molar formaldehyde levels, took place at 100oc. crosslinking reactions, for resins without catalyst or with high formaldehyde molar ratios, took place at temperature between 120 - 180oc
