Casate, Juliana Cristina;Corrêa, Adriana Katia;
Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-11692005000100017
Abstract: this qualitative research aims to analyze the scientific production about "humane health care/nursing", understanding what views on humanization have been developing. a bibliographic survey was carried out, covering the period from the end of the 1950's until today, in the periodicals revista brasileira de enfermagem, revista paulista de hospitais and texto e contexto, examining 42 articles, which were then subject to analysis and integrative synthesis. the issue has been developing from a charitable perspective to the current preoccupation with the valuation of health as a civil right, inserted in a political health project. articles from all decades reveal the need to invest in workers, valuing the subjective dimension. nevertheless, humanization receives little attention in education. care humanization supposes the meeting of subjects who share knowledge, power and experiences, implying political, administrative and subjective transformations.

Casate, Juliana Cristina;Corrêa, Adriana Katia;
Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da USP , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0080-62342006000300002
Abstract: this qualitative study aims at understanding undergraduate nursing students' experiences in daily hospital training situations, reflecting on the formation process and highlighting the human dimension. understanding this may give subsidies for a reflection on the humanization of health/nursing practice. thirteen students who were finishing the 6th and beginning the 7th semester in november/december 2003 and february/march 2004 were interviewed individually. the analysis of these interviews revealed the following important themes: being faced with other peoples' suffering is a "humanizing" experience; dichotomy technical knowledge/human knowledge; value of the human dimension: theoretical learning; the health team as a model of (un) learning; training experiences arouse feelings in the students; student-teacher relation: limits and facilities. there is a need to rethink the formation process, investing in coordinated actions that favor transformations in service and in schools involving teachers, students and workers.

Agricultural Sciences (AS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/as.2015.64042
Abstract:

Flavonoids are a class of natural polyphenolic compounds which cannot be synthesized by humans. These substances possess a series of biological properties, acting on biological systems as antioxidants. The purpose of this study was to analyze the properties of certain foods, determining the total flavonoids as well as their antioxidant activity and fat concentration. We evaluated several foods purchased at the local market, with respect to its antioxidant activity, using two experimental models, the discoloration of DPPH˙ radical and ABTS-. Some foods such as pitanga showed antioxidant activity. The lipid content of fatty foods like a\"\"aí, cacao and cupua\"\"ú was determined. Other foods, including pitanga, a\"\"aí, cacao and cupua\"\"ú, were evaluated for flavonoid content and antioxidant activity using multivariate statistical analysis (PCA) as a statistical tool to evaluate the correlation between these two parameters. As samples with ED50 up to 500 μg/mL show promising antioxidant activity, several Brazilian fruit and vegetables could be consumed to this end, with a good correlation between flavonoid content and antioxidant activity in most samples. The daily dose of different types of food for antioxidant activity has been calculated based on these results.

Rego, Juliana Ordones;Franceschinelli, Edivani Villaron;Zappi, Daniela Cristina;
Acta Botanica Brasilica , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-33062012000100023
Abstract: cipocereus laniflorus n.p. taylor & zappi is an endemic species from the serra do cara?a, state of minas gerais, brazil. in order to propose conservation strategies for this species, its reproductive strategies were investigated, including reproductive phenology, floral biology, floral visitors and breeding system. the flowering and fruiting period extends from may to october. few flowers per plant open each night, producing up to 0.4 ml nectar, but 30% of them are nectarless. probably pollen is also offered as a resource. fruiting efficiency of c. laniflorus (47%) is close to that found in other cactaceae species. pollen of this species was detected in anoura geoffroy, soricina glossophaga and pygoderma bilabiatum bats. amongst the characteristics related to bat-pollination syndrome found in c. laniflorus, the cream-white colouring of the internal part of the flower, the numerous stamens and the nocturnal anthesis of short duration can be highlighted. flowers of c. laniflorus are also visited by nitidulidae beetles, trigona fulviventris bees and hummingbirds, however bats are the main pollinators of this species. finally, as a self-sterile species, c. laniflorus needs a pollinator and is more susceptible to the risk of extinction if local disturbances affect its pollination system.
