Uso defensivo del espacio de interacción en fútbol. (Defensive use of the interaction space in soccer).

Abstract: El objetivo del trabajo fue conocer el uso estratégico en defensa del espacio de interacción desplegado por los equipos de fútbol en la dinámica de competición. Se codificaron seis partidos de la Liga espa ola, registrándose la ubicación espacial de jugadores y el balón en cada una de las posesiones individuales de balón (n = 6793) que ocurrieron durante la competición. Los registros se codificaron a partir de la salida bidimensional de datos que aporta la tecnología video tracking del sistema AMISCO , que permitió registrar las siguientes variables: amplitud (AMP), profundidad (PRO), distancia de la defensa a la portería que defiende (DDP) y distancia del balón a la defensa (DBD) cuando los equipos estuvieron sin la posesión del balón o en defensa. Las variables espaciales se correlacionaron con la distancia del balón a la portería adversaria (DBP), en metros, cuando el equipo rival tuvo la posesión del balón. Los resultados mostraron que los equipos hacen un uso estratégico del espacio cuando no están en posesión del balón. Existió una correlación positiva y significativa entre DBP con el resto de las variables, especialmente con DDP y DBD. Las conclusiones de este trabajo permiten aumentar el conocimiento respecto al uso del espacio de interacción que los equipos adoptan cuando no tienen la posesión del balón, con el objetivo de contrarrestar el ataque rival, y que debería ser aplicado en el proceso de entrenamiento.Abstract The aim of the study was to determine the ways in which soccer players use in defense the pitch space during a competitive match. Six matches from the Spanish league were studied, recording the spatial location of players and the ball in each of the individual ball possessions (n = 6793) that occurred during competitive play. Coding was performed with the 2 dimensional data obtained through the AMISCO video tracking system, which enabled the following variables to be recorded: width (AMP), depth (PRO), distance between defensive line in relation to the goal being defended (DDP) and distance from the ball to the defensive line (DBD). All these variables were coded only when the team did not have possession. Four spatial variables were correlated with the distance from the ball to the opponent goal (DBP), in meters, when the other team had possession of the ball. The results showed that teams make use of space of interaction when they had not the possession of the ball. Abstract: Las élites nacionalistas teorizan y elaboran un arquetipo de nación, cuyas características se pretenden comunes para el total de la población a la que se dirige el mensaje. Por ello, cuando resulta imposible que dichas características sean compartidas por todos, se produce una contradicción teórica, a la que el nacionalismo tiene que hacer frente. Es el caso del nacionalismo vasco en las zonas periféricas del País Vasco, donde la presencia del euskara, piedra angular del discurso actual sobre la nación, es mínima. Maniobrando sobre el discurso oficial, el nacionalismo de la periferia no concede tanta importancia a la lengua, y sí, en cambio, a características políticas voluntad y territorio.
El martirio de San Pelayo: una obra desconocida del pintor Martín Amigo en Belendiz (Bizkaia)

Abstract: Dentro del cada vez más difundido y revalorizado panorama de la pintura barroca desarrollada en el País Vasco nos reencontramos aquí con una de sus figuras se eras durante el siglo XVII. Concretamente hablamos de Martín Amigo, pintor de origen alavés y vecino de Bilbao durante gran parte de su vida, a cuya personalidad y obra artística nos acercó en su momento el profesor Barrio Loza. Volvemos a él con ocasión de presentar ahora un cuadro inédito conservado en la ermita de San Pelayo de Belendiz en la localidad vizcaína de Arratzu a cuya parroquia de Santo Tomás Apóstol sirve aquélla como aneja. Se trata de un óleo sobre lienzo que reproduce el martirio del santo titular, de aproximadamente 1,50 x 2,20 metros y regular estado de conservación, y que está firmado ( Amigo ft. ) y fechado (1680) en su ángulo inferior derecho. HEART RATE AND MOTION ANALYSIS BY GPS IN BEACH SOCCER

Abstract: Although beach soccer has become increasingly popular in recent years very little scientific research has been conducted into the sport. A pilot study was carried out with the aim of examining the physiological (heart rate) and physical (motion analysis) responses of beach soccer players during competitive matches. Ten players (age 25.5 ± 0.5 years; height 1.80 ± 0.08 m; weight 78.2 ± 5.6 kg.) were studied over five beach soccer matches. The physiological demands were analysed by measuring heart rate (HR) using telemetric devices, while the physical profile was evaluated by recording motion and speed by means of GPS devices. During competitive matches, players obtained a HRmean of 165.2 bpm (86.5% HRmax), with 59.3% of the time participating (TP) corresponding to values above 90% of the HRmax. The distance covered per minute of participation was 97.7 m, with 9.5% of this distance corresponding to high-intensity running and 2.5% to sprint; the work:rest ratio was 1.4:1 and the maximum speed 21.7 km·h-1. These results showed that beach soccer is an intermittent physical activity of greater intensity than other team games. It requires a major contribution from the anaerobic system as emphasis is placed on players making quick bursts of high-intensity activity separated by brief rest periods
Discursos sobre la integración. La inmigración al País Vasco en los a os 1950-1970

Abstract: La inmigración procedente de Espa a al País Vasco, entre 1950 y 1980, generó un cambio demográfico espectacular: a mediados de los 70, los nativos de padres y madres autóctonos constituían la mitad de la población. Dado el contexto político en que este movimiento se desarrolló, durante a os se ha generado un recurrente y politizado debate sobre la supuesta falta de integración de estas personas en la sociedad vasca. El presente artículo intenta conocer la percepción que sus protagonistas tienen de este proceso; es decir, analizar el grado de integración subjetiva de estos inmigrantes. Se extrae como principal conclusión el énfasis que ponen en la dimensión social de la integración, por encima de las cuestiones políticas y culturales.
Validity and reliability of 5 Hz GPS devices on short career with change of direction

Abstract: The aim of this study was to assess the validity and reliability of a MinimaxX GPS device (Team Sport 2.5, Catapult Innovations) operating with a sampling frequency of 5 Hz. Were measured distances made for 10 football players (age, 22.5 ±2.9 years, height 174 ±7 cm. and weight 72.6 ±3.4 kg) in the specific Yo-Yo Endurance Test level 1. The test ended when the players completed the first 10 levels of speed test (from 2.22 to 3.48 m·s-1). Four of the 10 participants took two simultaneously GPS, what allowed to value the reliability of the devices. In the validity study comparing the values obtained by the GPS with the actual values obtained by tape before performing the test. Statistical analysis were: coefficient of variation (1 – 17 %), standard error (2.3 – 136 m), standard error estimated, (5 – 11 %) and means difference (-0.7 – 89.2 m). The results indicate that although the reliability and validity showed satisfactory results at moderate intensities, almost all levels and for the total distance, although the distance was overestimated
Primary breast lymphomas

Abstract: The diagnosis, prognostic factors, and optimal management of primary breast lymphomas (PBL) is difficult. Seven patients recorded at the Geneva Cancer Registry between 1973-1998 were reviewed. Five patient had diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, one a follicular lymphoma and one a MALT-lymphoma. All patients had clinical and radiological findings consistent with breast cancer and underwent mastectomy, which is not indicated in PBL. Diagnosis should be established prior to operative interventions, as fine needle aspiration missed the diagnosis for one patient and intra-operative frozen sections for 3 patients in our study. Five-year and 10-year overall survivals were 57% and 15%, respectively. Of the 3 patients who died from PBL, 2 had tumors that were Bcl-2 positive but Bcl-6 negative. All 3 surviving patients have positive Bcl-2 and Bcl-6 immunostaining, which could be important prognostic factors if confirmed by a larger study.
CPMD simulation of Cu2+ -- phenylalanine complex under micro-solvated environment

Abstract: The study combines DFT calculations and CPMD simulations to investigate the structures of phenylalanine-copper (II) ([Phe-Cu]2+) complexes and the micro-solvation processes. ....It is found that the phenylalanine moiety appears to be in the neutral form in isolated and mono-hydrated complexes, but in the zwitterionic form in other hydrated complexes (with n no less than 2). .... The present CPMD simulations reveal that the maximum coordination of Cu2+ in the presence of the Phe ligand does not exceed four: the oxygen atoms from three water molecules and one carboxyl oxygen atom of Phe. Any excess water molecules will migrate to the second solvation shell. Moreover a unique structural motif is present in the lowest energy complexes, which is recognized to be significant in stabilizing the structures of the complexes. .....
Tight-binding models for ultracold atoms in optical lattices: general formulation and applications

Abstract: Tight-binding models for ultracold atoms in optical lattices can be properly defined by using the concept of maximally localized Wannier functions for composite bands. The basic principles of this approach are reviewed here, along with different applications to lattice potentials with two minima per unit cell, in one and two spatial dimensions. Two independent methods for computing the tight-binding coefficients - one ab initio, based on the maximally localized Wannier functions, the other through analytic expressions in terms of the energy spectrum - are considered. In the one dimensional case, where the tight-binding coefficients can be obtained by designing a specific gauge transformation, we consider both the case of quasi resonance between the two lowest bands, and that between s and p orbitals. In the latter case, the role of the Wannier functions in the derivation of an effective Dirac equation is also reviewed. Then, we consider the case of a two dimensional honeycomb potential, with particular emphasis on the Haldane model, its phase diagram, and the breakdown of the Peierls substitution. Tunable honeycomb lattices, characterized by movable Dirac points, are also considered. Finally, general considerations for dealing with the interaction terms are presented.
Relativistic effects and fully spin-polarized Fermi surface at the Tl/Si(111) surface

Abstract: We present a detailed analysis of the relativistic electronic structure and the momentum dependent spin-polarization of the Tl/Si(111) surface. Our first principle calculations reveal the existence of fully spin-polarized electron pockets associated to the huge spin-splitting of metallic surface bands. The calculated spin-polarization shows a very complex structure in the reciprocal space, strongly departing from simple theoretical model approximations. Interestingly, the electronic spin-state close to the Fermi surface is polarized along the surface perpendicular direction and reverses its orientation between different electron pockets.
