Ciudadanía, procesos de globalización y democracia
Judit Bokser
Revista Enfoques : Ciencia Política y Administración Pública , 2006,
Abstract: The present work proposes an analysis of the development of the concept of citizenship from a philosophical and politological approach. In order to do this, the author situates herself within the process of globalization and its implications for the democratic consolidation and the challenges that this new scene implies. From this perspective, citizenship is seen as a line of debate subject to constant construction due to the transformations that other theoretical and institutional devices -like the Nation-State and democratic regimes- are undergoing, developing an interesting perspective about the relationship established between the communitarianism, liberalism and republicanism and its articulations with the cultural, institutional, and political dimensions.

El antisemitismo: recurrencias y cambios históricos
Judit Bokser

Some impacts of the EU accession on the new member states’ agriculture
Judit KISS
Eastern Journal of European Studies , 2011,
Abstract: The main aim of the paper is to analyse the impact of the EU accession on the New Member States’ agriculture with special regard to production, employment, farmers’ income and intra-EU trade in agricultural goods on the basis of the latest statistical data of Eurostat. According to our findings, accession has provided incentives to agricultural production and to utilize natural endowments (mainly agricultural land); however, agricultural employment decrease could not be halted. Nevertheless, the economic situation of the farmers improved due to increasing incomes. Though the enlarged EU provided markets for the NMS agricultural products, the competition on their domestic markets increased significantly, resulting in massive import penetration. Consequently, most of the NMS agricultural trade balance deteriorated considerably. Concerning future prospects, it highly depends on the reformulation of the Common Agricultural Policy, the new budget of the EU and the domestic economic and agricultural situation of the NMS.
Environmental and genetic influences on early attachment
Gervai Judit
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Mental Health , 2009, DOI: 10.1186/1753-2000-3-25
Abstract: Attachment theory predicts and subsequent empirical research has amply demonstrated that individual variations in patterns of early attachment behaviour are primarily influenced by differences in sensitive responsiveness of caregivers. However, meta-analyses have shown that parenting behaviour accounts for about one third of the variance in attachment security or disorganisation. The exclusively environmental explanation has been challenged by results demonstrating some, albeit inconclusive, evidence of the effect of infant temperament. In this paper, after reviewing briefly the well-demonstrated familial and wider environmental influences, the evidence is reviewed for genetic and gene-environment interaction effects on developing early attachment relationships. Studies investigating the interaction of genes of monoamine neurotransmission with parenting environment in the course of early relationship development suggest that children's differential susceptibility to the rearing environment depends partly on genetic differences. In addition to the overview of environmental and genetic contributions to infant attachment, and especially to disorganised attachment relevant to mental health issues, the few existing studies of gene-attachment interaction effects on development of childhood behavioural problems are also reviewed. A short account of the most important methodological problems to be overcome in molecular genetic studies of psychological and psychiatric phenotypes is also given. Finally, animal research focusing on brain-structural aspects related to early care and the new, conceptually important direction of studying environmental programming of early development through epigenetic modification of gene functioning is examined in brief.
Minkowski valuations in a 2-dimensional complex vector space
Judit Abardia
Mathematics , 2013, DOI: 10.1093/imrn/rnt251
Abstract: The classification of continuous, translation invariant Minkowski valuations which are contravariant (or covariant) with respect to the complex special linear group is established in a 2-dimensional complex vector space. Every such valuation is given by the sum of a valuation of degree of homogeneity 1 and 3. In dimensions $m\geq 3$ such a classification was previously established and only valuations of a degree of homogeneity 2m-1 appear.
Difference bodies in complex vector spaces

Mathematics , 2012,
Abstract: A complete classification is obtained of continuous, translation invariant, Minkowski valuations on an m-dimensional complex vector space which are covariant under the complex special linear group.
