Creative Education (CE) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2015.611109
Abstract: This article aims to analyze the accomplishments in learning self-regulation from a student popu-lation in personal learning environments. A Likert scale-like questionnaire is applied to a random cluster sample of students from the Pedagogy, Social Education and Psychopedagogy degrees from the University of Granada, Spain. Descriptive or inferential analyses are carried out along the research in order to characterize the population. Additionally, Kendall’s correlation coefficients are calculated and interpreted to define the relations among students’ accomplishments. Finally, Kruskal-Wallis H tests are performed to ascertain through analysis of variance if the variable degree influences such accomplishments. The results show that the students from these three degrees set goals, perform tasks in an organized manner, accomplish extra work on time, meet the deadlines to hand in the class-work, and reflect on their learning. Pedagogy presents the highest relation between achieving an appropriate period of time to perform the tasks and carrying out their extra work on time. Social Education shows a smaller number of students and less intensity when meeting the deadlines to hand in the classwork. The students from Psychopedagogy have the highest accomplishments in reading the whole material suggested by the teacher. The research concludes that, although there are some variations among these three degrees, they are homo-geneous in the majority of the variables studied here. The students succeeded in learning self-regulation; however, it is necessary to reinforce the time planning, the reading of the material suggested by the teacher, enhancement of knowledge, and complementary research. One student subgroup is distinguished for its accomplishments in task organization and performance, while other groups excel for deepening their understanding of the units and metacognition.

ORINOQUIA , 2011,
Abstract: this review was mainly aimed at bringing togethergeneral aspects concerningthis speciewhichhave been investigated to date, especially regardingits biology, ecology and use in the countries where the specie is located. the moriche palm(mauritia flexuosa l.f) has a wide distribution, ranging from the amazon rever basin to the island of trinidad. the specie has excellent adaptation to low-fertilitysoil; it is also an integral part of regional natural systems because it has become a fundamental elementin preserving hydric resources and biodiversity. it is being used as a resource generating food, fibres and woodin some local economies. its economic importance variesamongst different geographical regions;it is barely commercialisedin colombia while in zones like iquitos (peru), ecotypes have begunto be selected for the specie's commercial cultivation and exploitation as an economic network based on its productsalready exists.

Revista electrónica de investigación educativa , 2009,
Abstract: in this article about the european area for higher education (eahe) it is intended to provide a better understanding of this complex and unfinished process europe's higher education. therefore, work has been organized according to a series of linked phases. first, we the origins of this initiative are defined and, to such end, the parallelisms among the creation of the european union and the beginning of the ehea are analyzed, since they cannot be understood separately. second, we highlight the main objectives that explain the process vertebrae, pointing out their main guidelines and trends. finally, overall considerations are pointed out from the educational reforms perspective.

Abstract: background arthroscopic surgical procedures on the knee are now frequently performed and there is still no agreement as to what is the best anesthesia technique for them. any anesthetic technique used should bring fast and safe recovery, accompanied by good postoperative pain control and good patient satisfaction, all very important goals of ambulatory anesthesia. objective: the goal of the study was to compare general versus regional anesthesia (sciatic, femoral and obturator nerve blocks) in terms of pain control, time to discharge and overall patient satisfaction among others. methods: we conducted a randomized, non-blinded, clinical essay. the sample included all patients scheduled for arthroscopic knee surgery at clinica ces that met inclusion criteria, during the period of time that the study was performed. results: there were no significant differences in demographic characteristics, or intraoperative time between groups. time spent in post anesthesia care unit was significantly lower in the group where regional anesthesia was used (15 vs. 78 minutes, p<0.05). patients in the regional anesthesia group also did not require supplemental analgesia and were discharged earlier. in fact, all the patients in regional anesthesia group had vas pain scores less than 3 one hour after surgery, while 56 % of the patients in the general anesthesia group had pain scores above 5 and required supplemental analgesia. there were higher incidence of postoperative nausea and vomit and greater anesthesia-related costs in general anesthesia group. regional anesthesia patients were more satisfied with the anesthetic technique used than the general anesthesia ones. conclusion: the results of this study suggest that regional anesthesia for ambulatory arthroscopy knee surgery provides better postoperative analgesia, earlier discharge and better patient satisfaction than general anesthesia. regional anesthesia also seems to facilitate early rehabilitation and could provide good care at

Hadronic Transport Coefficients from Effective Field Theories
Juan M. Torres-Rincon
Physics , 2012,
Abstract: This dissertation focuses on the calculation of transport coefficients in the matter created in a relativistic heavy-ion collision after the chemical freeze-out. This matter can be well approximated by a pion gas out of equilibrium. We describe the theoretical framework to obtain the shear and bulk viscosities, the thermal and electrical conductivities and the flavor diffusion coefficients of a meson gas at low temperatures. To describe the interactions of the degrees of freedom, we use effective field theories with chiral and heavy quark symmetries. We introduce the unitarization methods in order to obtain a scattering amplitude that satisfies the unitarity condition exactly. We perform the calculation of the transport properties of the low temperature phase of quantum chromodynamics -the hadronic medium- that can be used in the hydrodynamic simulations of a relativistic heavy-ion collision and its subsequent evolution. We show that the shear viscosity over entropy density exhibits a minimum in a phase transition by studying this coefficient in atomic Argon (around the liquid-gas phase transition) and in the linear sigma model in the limit of large number of scalar fields (that presents a chiral phase transition). Finally, we provide an experimental method to estimate the bulk viscosity in relativistic heavy-ion collisions by performing correlations of the fluctuating components of the stress-energy tensor.
