Abstract: El trabajo está orientado a mostrar la concepción de las ontologías utilizadas en el desarrollo de una arquitectura de sistema multiagente para la contratación automática de servicios Web. Primeramente, se citan las características del estándar FIPA, que ha sido considerado para la implementación de sistema multiagente, y algunos estándares para la representación y ejecución de servicios Web. Se describe el funcionamiento general y los requerimientos de la arquitectura que se propone. Se muestra la estructura y utilización de los dos cuerpos ontológicos que han sido modelados. Estas ontologías brindan el modelo conceptual que es utilizado por los agentes de la arquitectura para la representación del conocimiento que posee cada agente de su entorno, y para la representación de los servicios Web que serán contratados por el usuario.
MC64-ClustalWP2: A Highly-Parallel Hybrid Strategy to Align Multiple Sequences in Many-Core Architectures

Abstract: We have developed the MC64-ClustalWP2 as a new implementation of the Clustal W algorithm, integrating a novel parallelization strategy and significantly increasing the performance when aligning long sequences in architectures with many cores. It must be stressed that in such a process, the detailed analysis of both the software and hardware features and peculiarities is of paramount importance to reveal key points to exploit and optimize the full potential of parallelism in many-core CPU systems. The new parallelization approach has focused into the most time-consuming stages of this algorithm. In particular, the so-called progressive alignment has drastically improved the performance, due to a fine-grained approach where the forward and backward loops were unrolled and parallelized. Another key approach has been the implementation of the new algorithm in a hybrid-computing system, integrating both an Intel Xeon multi-core CPU and a Tilera Tile64 many-core card. A comparison with other Clustal W implementations reveals the high-performance of the new algorithm and strategy in many-core CPU architectures, in a scenario where the sequences to align are relatively long (more than 10 kb) and, hence, a many-core GPU hardware cannot be used. Thus, the MC64-ClustalWP2 runs multiple alignments more than 18x than the original Clustal W algorithm, and more than 7x than the best x86 parallel implementation to date, being publicly available through a web service. Besides, these developments have been deployed in cost-effective personal computers and should be useful for life-science researchers, including the identification of identities and differences for mutation/polymorphism analyses, biodiversity and evolutionary studies and for the development of molecular markers for paternity testing, germplasm management and protection, to assist breeding, illegal traffic control, fraud prevention and for the protection of the intellectual property (identification/traceability), including the protected designation of origin, among other applications.
Adenocarcinoma primario en un remanente ureteral tras una nefrectomía simple

Abstract: aim: adenocarcinomas of the upper urinary tract are very rare malignancies often related to primary genitourinary and extraurinary tumours. primary adenocarcinomas are even rarer. there are no clinical guidelines for the management of primary ureteral adenocarcinoma. our objective is to propose a clinical management of this sort of tumours. methods: we report a case of adenocarcinoma affecting a ureteral stump in a patient who previously underwent a nephrectomy. a review of literature is performed. results: after the ureterectomy the pathologist diagnosed a ureteral adenocarcinoma. we perform an extension study which discards an extraurinary origin. conclusions: adenocarcinoma of the ureteral stump is a very rare malignancy. about the clinic and pathologic characterization, there is no an established reference due to the short number of previous reports. clinical presentation may include previous nephrectomy, flank pain, dysuria, urgency and/or gross hematuria. it seem necessary the complete resection of the urinary tract when a nephrectomy is performed. adjuvant chemotherapy can be employed with uncertain results.
Homogeneidad geoquímica de la alteración hidrotermal del cinturón de oro orogénico del NW de Sonora, México: Estudio de balance de masas en rocas encajonantes de la mineralización

Abstract: a geochemical mass balance study, combined with petrography, bivariate au and ag geochemical analysis, and inclusion study in pyrites and native gold, was performed on a suite of hydrothermally altered host rocks and contemporaneous quartz veins from the caborca orogenic gold belt in nw sonora, mexico (cooc; by its abbreviations in spanish: cinturón de oro orogénico caborca). these combined studies helped evaluating the geochemical homogeneity of the mineralizing fluids that formed the alteration envelopes and the auriferous quartz veins in the entire area occupying the cooc (~400 km long and ~60-80 km wide belt). the isocon statistical technique used in the mass balance study was applied on 20 pairs of mayor and trace element geochemical data of altered and fresh rock samples. the results show that the majority (>50 %) of the altered host rocks are enriched in k2o, w, cu, pb, mo, tl, be, zn, v, sb, ag, sn, sio2, se, ni and feo, and are clearly depleted in ca, y, na, ho, co, sr, yb, mn, dy, er and tb. the similar pattern of enrichment and depletion was shown by most of the studied samples suggesting a high degree of geochemical homogeneity of the mineralizing fluids. petrography on both the altered and fresh rocks indicates that the hydrothermal alteration primarily consisted of silicification, sericitization, chloritization, epidotization and pyritization. the bivariate au and ag geochemical studies, done in auriferous quartz veins, show a strong positive correlation between these two elements and the enriched elements shown by the mass balance study on the altered host rocks. therefore, these elements could be utilized as a geochemical exploration guide to targeting orogenic gold deposits in the region. multiple inclusions of native gold and silver, galena, covellite, sphalerite, molybdenite, scheelite and tourmaline were encapsulated in pyrite and native gold grains in the quartz veins. presence of these mineral occurrences explains most of the elemental anomalie

Abstract: different formulations of pimozide 1 and 4 mg tablets designed to obtain a formulation that meets the parameters established by the united states pharmacopeia xxii for controlling the quality of the finished product, as well as the necessary requirement for its coating, were studied. among these formulations, the so-called pp fulfilled the established quality parameters before and after coating. the results obtained in the shelf life study of the coated tablets made at semiindustrial scale showen that even one year after their making they meet the specifications established by the pharmacopeia, which supports the feasibility for their scale-up at industrial level.

Abstract: The structure of the title ionic compound, (C5H6N5)2[Cu(C2O4)2]·2H2O, consists of a centrosymmetric copper(II) oxalate dianion, two monoprotonated molecules of the adenine analog 7-amino-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine (7atp) and two water molecules of crystallization. The CuII ion, located on an inversion center, exhibits a sligthly distorted square-planar coordination geometry, in which two oxalate anions bind in a bidentate fashion. The triazolopyrimidine ligand is protonated at the N atom in position 4, instead of its most basic N atom in position 3. This fact may be explained by the network stability, which is provided through the formation of a two-dimensional wave-like network parallel to (50overline1) by N—H...O, O—H...N and O—H...O hydrogen bonds. These nets are further connected via C—H...O interactions.

Abstract: Este trabajo estudia, mediante el uso de una determinada metodología de análisis del discurso político, la posición de los movimientos nacionalistas vasco y catalán en un momento clave de la Transición a la democracia en Espa a, tal y como lo fue la discusión y posterior aprobación de la Ley Orgánica de Armonización del Proceso Autonómico (LOAPA). Para ello se utiliza el método de las Regulaciones del discurso, que permite ver e interpretar la postura de los nacionalismos periféricos en la naciente democracia, y su respuesta discursiva ante la evolución de los acontecimientos que rodean el aún frágil Estado de las Autonomías.
New Biofuel Integrating Glycerol into Its Composition Through the Use of Covalent Immobilized Pig Pancreatic Lipase

Abstract: By using 1,3-specific Pig Pancreatic lipase (EC or PPL), covalently immobilized on AlPO 4/Sepiolite support as biocatalyst, a new second-generation biodiesel was obtained in the transesterification reaction of sunflower oil with ethanol and other alcohols of low molecular weight. The resulting biofuel is composed of fatty acid ethyl esters and monoglycerides (FAEE/MG) blended in a molar relation 2/1. This novel product, which integrates glycerol as monoacylglycerols (MG) into the biofuel composition, has similar physicochemical properties compared to those of conventional biodiesel and also avoids the removal step of this by-product. The biocatalyst was found to be strongly fixed to the inorganic support (75%). Nevertheless, the efficiency of the immobilized enzyme was reduced to half (49.1%) compared to that of the free PPL. The immobilized enzyme showed a remarkable stability as well as a great reusability (more than 40 successive reuses) without a significant loss of its initial catalytic activity. Immobilized and free enzymes exhibited different reaction mechanisms, according to the different results in the Arrhenius parameters (Ln A and Ea). However, the use of supported PPL was found to be very suitable for the repetitive production of biofuel due to its facile recyclability from the reaction mixture.
Acetic Acid Detection Threshold in Synthetic Wine Samples of a Portable Electronic Nose

Abstract: Wine quality is related to its intrinsic visual, taste, or aroma characteristics and is reflected in the price paid for that wine. One of the most important wine faults is the excessive concentration of acetic acid which can cause a wine to take on vinegar aromas and reduce its varietal character. Thereby it is very important for the wine industry to have methods, like electronic noses, for real-time monitoring the excessive concentration of acetic acid in wines. However, aroma characterization of alcoholic beverages with sensor array electronic noses is a difficult challenge due to the masking effect of ethanol. In this work, in order to detect the presence of acetic acid in synthetic wine samples (aqueous ethanol solution at 10% v/v) we use a detection unit which consists of a commercial electronic nose and a HSS32 auto sampler, in combination with a neural network classifier (MLP). To find the characteristic vector representative of the sample that we want to classify, first we select the sensors, and the section of the sensors response curves, where the probability of detecting the presence of acetic acid will be higher, and then we apply Principal Component Analysis (PCA) such that each sensor response curve is represented by the coefficients of its first principal components. Results show that the PEN3 electronic nose is able to detect and discriminate wine samples doped with acetic acid in concentrations equal or greater than 2 g/L.
