Efeito da lamina de irriga??o na conserva??o pós-colheita de mel?o Pele de Sapo

Abstract: the occurrence of effects of cultivation conditions on the postharvest quality and conservation of fruits is already known, but the studies are scarce, in the literature, which relate the use of irrigation with postharvest quality and conservation of melon. thus, the objective was to evaluate the irrigation effect in the postharvest conservation of piel de sapo melon. an experiment was carried out in mossoró, rio grande do norte state, brazil, from september to december 2004 in which three irrigation levels tested: l1= 281 mm, l2= 349 mm and l3= 423 mm, the soil being fertilized according to the crop needs. the fruits were harvested at physiological maturity (60 days after transplantation). after the harvest, the fruits were transported to the laboratory of the universidade federal rural do semiárido, where the fruits were washed and selected. a sampe was evaluated previously and the other fruits were identified and placed in cardboard boxes. they were stored in a cooler with temperature at 10+1oc and 85+2% rh where they remained for 35 days. the experimental design was completely randomized in a 3x2 factorial, representing respectively three irrigation levels (l1, l2 and l3) and two fruits storage periods (0 and 35 days), with five replications. significant differences were detected between the irrigation levels and storage time to vitamin c. there occurred an increase on the ph value and a decrease on vitamin c content and on fruits pulp firmness with higher irrigation levels. the pulp firmness, acidity and soluble solids of fruits decreased after storage time.

Abstract: two experiments were carried out at the same time in baraúna, rio grande do norte state, brazil, from october to december 2004, to evaluate different soil coverages and irrigation depth as well as the use of agrotextile on the melon yield. in the first experiment the agrotextile was used, but not in the second one. both experiments were designed in a 5 x 3 factorial scheme in randomized complete blocks with two replications. the treatments of the factorial consisted of the combination of five soil coverages (films of yellow, brown, black and silvered polyethylene, and no soil coverages) with three irrigation depths (100%, 84% and 67% of the standard water amount). the fruit number, mean fruit mass, marketable fruit yield, refused and total fruit yield were evaluated. the treatments with film of yellow polyethylene increased the marketable fruit yield in the absence of agrotextile. the fruit yield decreased with decreasing irrigation depths. the treatments with black polyethylene film or with nude soil associated with agrotextile had the best economic results.

Abstract: Avaliaram-se os efeitos do uso de diferentes níveis de salinidade da água de irriga o (S1 = 0,55 dS/m, S2 = 1,70 dS/m, S3 = 2,85 dS/m e S1 = 4,00 dS/m) no crescimento vegetativo de bananeiras Pacovan (AAB) e Marmelo (ABB), utilizando-se um solo Argissolo Cr mico, textura franco-argilo-arenosa e adotando-se um delineamento experimental em blocos completos casualizados, com parcelas subdivididas e quatro repeti es. As parcelas experimentais foram compostas de uma fileira com 10 plantas, sendo cinco de cada cultivar, com as três plantas centrais de cada sub-parcela consideradas úteis. As irriga es foram feitas diariamente ou a cada dois dias de modo a proporcionar uma fra o de lixivia o ao redor de 0,15%, colocando-se volumes aproximados de água para manter o solo próximo à capacidade de campo. Os resultados obtidos aos 110, 160, 220, 300 e 360 dias após o plantio mostraram que o incremento nos níveis de salinidade diminuiu significativamente a altura da planta, o número de folhas e a área foliar com o aumento do nível de salinidade da água até no máximo 240 dias do desenvolvimento, havendo uma equipara o depois do período chuvoso.

Abstract: to evaluate the effect of different kinds and dripper spacings used in the melon cultivation, under two plant densities, a study was conducted at 's?o jo?o' farm, in the municipal district of mossoró, rn, during the period of september to november, 1998. the experimental design was a completely randomized block in a split-plot layout, with three replications. the different dripper lines were installed in main plots (katif 2.3 l h-1 at 0.40 and 0.60 m; katif 3.75 l h-1 at 0.60 and 0.80 m; hydrodrip ii 2.3 l h-1 at 0.30 and 0.50 m; netafim st - 125 1.65 l h-1 at 0.50 m; chapin 15 mil 1.12 l h-1 at 0.30 m and queen gil 1.42 l h-1 at 0.30 m) and, in subplots, the populations of 15,000 and 20,000 plants ha-1. the results showed that the stand percentage was higher in the dripper of smaller spacing and discharge and for higher plant density. the dripper lines queen gil 1.42 l h-1 at 0.30 m and hydrodrip ii 2.3 l h-1 at 0.30 m presented higher melon yield although statistically differing only to chapin 15 mil 1.12 l h-1 at 0.30 m.

Abstract: the need for techniques that increase the yield of melon with fruit in obtaining desirable traits by consumers, with high content of soluble solids and pulp firmness, good flavor and good external appearance, is a reality. the soil cover with polyethylene films is a technique that was introduced in the agro-pole assu-mossoró-baraúna to meet this demand. the objective of this study was to evaluate the yield and fruit quality of yellow melon grown with four irrigation depths (l1 - 100%, l2 - 91%, l3 - 82%, l4 - 72% of the standard depth of 452 mm which was determined by the methodology of the fao kc dual) and tree types of polyethylene film (white-black, silver-black, black-black) used for the soil cover, compared with cultivation without coverage. was used the randomized block design with split plot into 4 x 4, and four replications. the use of polyethylene films provided a significant increase in yield, and the increase of fruit weight by 20% on average, compared to treatment without coverage; the polyethylene film of white-black and black-black were better in relation to the silver-black color; the standard depth of 452 mm can be reduced by 28% without yield reduction even with the average fruit weight decrease by 11%; the concentration of soluble solids decreased as the irrigation was reduced due to heavy pest attack.

Abstract: Estimou-se a área foliar da cultura do mel o (Cucumis melo, L.) cv. Gold Mine, submetido a laminas de irriga o variando de 55% a 130% da necessidade híbrida da cultura, usando água de baixa e alta salinidade. Foi coletada uma planta em cada parcela, aos 19; 26; 34; 40 e 50 dias após a semeadura, onde se determinou o número e a área foliar total e as suas dimens es, e a área foliar individual até 24 folhas por planta. Os resultados evidenciaram que existe uma correla o parcial entre a área foliar total da planta e o número de folhas de 0,945**, e a equa o de regress o obtida foi AF = 108NF - 516, com r2 = 0,95. A compara o conjunta das equa es obtidas para cada época mostra que pelo menos uma rela o entre largura (L) e área foliar (AF) diferenciaram das demais, embora a rela o que assume os dados como um todo, apresente um alto valor para o coeficiente de determina o, sendo a seguinte: AF=0,826L1,89 (r2=0,97).

Abstract: This study was conducted during August 21, 1998 to January 20, 1999, with the objective of determining the evolution of the soil salinity under melon during two cycles, irrigated with different depths of water of low and high salinity, in Mossoró, RN. The experimental design adopted consisted of radomized blocks in a 2 x 6 fatorial scheme, with 3 repetitions. Six irrigation depths (0.55, 0.70, 0.85, 1.00, 1.15, and 1.30 of maximim crop evapotranspiration - ETm) and two levels of salinity of the irrigation water (0.55 and 2.65 dS m-1) were analysed. In general the soil salinity tended to achieve equilibrium starting from the end of the first cycle. The salinity in the second crop cycle, increased in the deeper layers towords the end of the cycle, although the concentration of salts was higher is the superficial layer. In the first as well as in the second cycle, the mean salinity in the root zone reduced linearly with the irrigation depth.

Abstract: the number and the yield of fruits from two hybrid of muskmelon, submitted to different saline levels of irrigation water and soil covering was evaluated. a factorial outline was used 3 x 2 x 2 in a complete randomized blocks design with four replications. the factors were three levels of salinity of irrigation water, with electric conductivity of 1.2 dsm-1; 2.5 dsm-1 and 4.4 dsm-1 respectively, two hybrids, gold mine and trusty, with and without soil covering using black-silvery double face polyethylene film. the hybrids reacted in different ways to the salinity of irrigation water. reduction on the total number of fruits was observed only in the hybrid trusty. the marketable yield of fruits was similar in both hybrids, being reduced with the increase of the electric conductivity. for the usage of soil covering the hybrids also reacted in a different way. the hybrid trusty produced greater number of fruits and higher yield in treatments using soil covering.
Variabilidade espacial da produtividade do meloeiro em áreas de cultivo fertirrigado

Abstract: two production areas of trickle fertigated melon were grid sampled with the objective of assessing spatial variability of yield, and to determine the spatial dependence while locating regions where site specific management can improve economic returns. the hybrid goldex was grown in a yellow red latosol, and the orange flesh in a yellow red argisol. the stand, yield of export type fruits, yield of national market fruits and marketable yield were determined. descriptive statistics was used for an exploratory analysis of data, while geostatistics was used for evaluating spatial dependence of variables and generate contour maps by interpolation techniques. all variables, except stand, adjusted to normal distribution and showed medium variability. yield variables were spatially dependents and adjusted to exponential or spherical models of semi-variograms. contour maps showed regions where site specific management can improve economic returns since limiting factors are identified and suitable technologies adopted.
Causas da varia??o em produtividade e qualidade do mel?o em um Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo fertirrigado

Abstract: this work was carried out in mossoró, rn, brazil, with the objective of identifying soil and fertirrigation variables influencing melon yield and quality. variables determinated were: yield (export and marketable type); quality (total soluble solids content and pulp firmness); fertirrigation (emitter discharge rate, elevation, distance to water inlet and fertilizer amount); soil chemical properties (ph, organic matter, ca, mg, k, na, potential acidity, p, cu, zn, fe and mn) and physical properties (contents of clay, sand and silt, soil density and soil moisture). descriptive statistics, spearman's correlation and multiple regressions were used for data analysis. fertirrigation and variables related to a higher water availability improved melon yield and decreased quality. a higher availability of p increased melon yield, while higher soil ph improved fruit quality. levels of micronutrients fe and mn were harmful to the crop, however higher contents of cu increased export type yield and total soluble solids content.
