Reavaliando o Bem Sex-Role Inventory
Hernandez, José Augusto Evangelho;
Estudos de Psicologia (Campinas) , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-166X2009000100008
Abstract: the aim of this study was to evaluate the structure of the bem sex-role inventory, answered by a non-probabilistic sample of brazilian men and women. more than a decade after the last brazilian review of the inventory, it has become necessary to conduct a fresh examination, due to the strong cultural influence regarding its content. the scale was applied to 922 subjects recruited from several locations in porto alegre (in the state of rio grande do sul) and its metropolitan area. an evaluation of the structure of the scale was carried out using factorial analysis. in addition, the reliability of the scale was also examined. the findings were compared to previous studies. generally speaking, the evidence strongly supports the approved version, thereby qualifying it to be used in psychological research.
Hernandez, José Augusto Evangelho;
Psicologia em Estudo , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-73722008000300021
Abstract: the dyadic adjustment scale answered by a non-probabilistic sample of brazilian males and females involved in different types of love relationships is assessed. the 542 subjects were recruited in several sites in porto alegre rs brazil and its metropolitan area. current study examined the scale structure by the factor analysis statistics technique. results were compared to the original construction of the instrument study and other subsequent confirmations. the comparison of average scores of different kinds of couples in current sample verified the discriminative power of the instrument and its reliability. evidences support the instrument's brazilian version in research and in psychology clinics.
Gravidez do primeiro filho: papéis sexuais, ajustamento conjugal e emocional
Hernandez, José Augusto Evangelho;Hutz, Cláudio Simon;
Psicologia: Teoria e Pesquisa , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-37722008000200002
Abstract: the present investigation examined the relationship between sexual roles and pregnant women marital and emotional adjustment on the transition to parenthood. a hundred thirty three women participants were recruited from the public health care network in southern brazil. the participants lived together with their partners and they were waiting for their first son or daughter. the tests used were the bem sex-role inventory (bem, 1974), the dyadic adjustment scale (spanier, 1976) and the neuroticism factor scale (hutz & nunes, 2001). the data collection was individual and, in several cases, they fill the instruments in an interviewer presence. in a small amount of cases, participants responded to the instruments at home and later they returned them to the researcher. the results showed significant relationships between sex roles and marital adjustment. the results are discussed based on gender theories and on the international research on the transition to parenthood results.
Hernandez, José Augusto Evangelho;Voser, Rogério da Cunha;
Psicologia: Ciência e Profiss?o , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1414-98932012000100011
Abstract: this study sought to promote a construct validation of chelladurai and saleh’s leadership scale for sports (1978, 1980), version preference of leadership, with data from 706 male and female brazilian athletes in soccer, judo, swimming and athletics. the survey participants were from various sport clubs of rio grande do sul; also in an attempt to produce a validation criterion for the instrument relations between the preference for leadership of the athletes and the dependence and variability of task, gender and age of the athletes were tested, as prescribed in the multidimensional model of leadership for sport. the responses of the athletes to the instrument were processed through the spss factor analysis, cronbach alpha and manova. in general, the results provided reasonable confirmation to the original structure. however, the reliability of the autocratic behavior subscale fell short of acceptable. in the discussion, suggestions are made for the reformulation of some items.

José Augusto Evangelho Hernandez,Ilka Maria Biasetto de Oliveira
Psicologia: Ciência e Profiss?o , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/s1414-98932003000100009
Abstract: Este trabalho tem como objetivo investigar as rela es entre componentes do amor, a saber: dependência romantica, intimidade comunicativa, excita o física, respeito e compatibilidade romantica e a satisfa o. Relations between love components were investigated: romantic dependence, communicative intimacy, physical excitement, respect and romantic compatibility and satisfaction in heterosexual couple members. It is a sample of 146 couples. Love Components Scale, by Critelli et. al. was used as an instrument. Also, it was used Jemmott III Scale et al. for satisfaction. The results were submitted to Multiple Regression, a stepwise method. It showed that the love component that best co-relates to satisfaction, for both men and women is communicative intimacy, followed by physical excitement. All components correlated positively with women’s satisfaction when they they showed in a larger scale by men.
Transi o para a parentalidade: ajustamento conjugal e emocional
Hernandez, José Augusto Evangelho,Hutz, Cláudio Simon
Psico , 2009,
Energy Balance in a Patch of the Atlantic Forest in São Paulo City, Brazil  [PDF]
Frederico Luiz Funari, Augusto José Pereira Filho
Journal of Water Resource and Protection (JWARP) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jwarp.2014.69076
Abstract:

The aim of this work was to characterize and to bring into relationship of the net radiation with the latent heat flux equivalent to water (mm) in a patch of Atlantic Forest within the metropolitan area of Sao Paulo (RMSP). The estimation of the latent heat flux (LE) was made by the energy balance equation with the Bowen ratio. Measurements of net radiation and psychometrics gradients were made. Soil heat flux (G) was measured by temperature sensors in two depths. Measurements were made at Park of Science and Technology of Sao Paulo University (CIENTEC), Sao Paulo, Brazil, between 2011 and 2013. Results indicated that evapotranspiration varies seasonally and the amount of water evaporated exceeds 3.0 mm·day-1 in spring/summer and in autumn/winter the amount is approximately 1.0 mm·day-1. The evapotranspiration is increased under RMSP urban climate conditions with higher air temperature and lower moisture especially in summer season.

An Analysis of the Spectral Energetics for a Planet Experiencing Rapid Greenhouse Gas Emissions  [PDF]
André Ferreira Aranha, José Augusto P. Veiga
Atmospheric and Climate Sciences (ACS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/acs.2017.71009
Abstract: So far, energetics studies related to climate change have focused on the disturbed and undisturbed kinetic and potential energies, as well as their transformations, without dealing with the energetics involved in the phenomena of different spatial scales. Thus, the present work reports the first analysis of the spectral energetics for a condition of climate change, followed by the high-range emission scenario, RCP8.5, which originated from the new Max Planck Institute Earth System Model (MPI-ESM). The results showed that both types of generation (Go and Gn), baroclinic processes (Co and Cn), kinetic energies (Ko and Kn) and the barotropic process, Mn, significantly increase in the condition of a warming climate. Moreover, the results still reveal that in the most components of the energetics, is the planetary scale waves that are the most impacted under a climate change scenario. These results highlight that global warming can have different impacts on particular types of motions.
Políticas curriculares descentralizadas: autonomia ou recentraliza??o?
Pacheco, José Augusto;
Educa??o & Sociedade , 2000, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73302000000400010
Abstract: the idea of decentralization became central to educational discourse during the period of reform of the late 1980s and the 1990s. the state can use the discourse of decentralization to argue in favor of greater autonomy and responsibility, just as market forces can use it to attain their objectives in regard to schools. in this article our purpose is to identify a number of different meanings of the term decentralization, arguing that decisions regarding curricula are intentional and practical processes in which students and teachers are the main actors. the key question is how to move ahead off the beaten path. the probable answer will be based on the centrality of the school without minimizing the importance of curriculum-related issues.
Pacheco, José Augusto;
Educa??o & Sociedade , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73302003000100002
Abstract: the text has two main proposals: to analyse the educational policy about higher education in the european union, mainly in what concerns the strategic goals defined to this decade and to examine the portuguese reality, in a moment where the mission of the university either in the context of globalisation or within accountability policy is very discussed.
