'I will do as my father did': On Portuguese and other European views of Mughal succession crises
Jorge Flores
E-Journal of Portuguese History , 2005,
Abstract: The Mughal succession crises occurring between the political downfall of Akbar (c. 1600) and Aurangzeb’s death (1707) were portrayed in detail by a considerable number of European observers. This essay intends to study the way those critical moments, that would eventually lead to the disintegration of the Mughal empire, were openly desired both in Goa and Lisbon: they somewhat represented the life insurance of a defenseless Estado da índia forced to face a giant – the Gr o Mogor – that could not be controlled. On the other hand, and for different reasons, the agents of the English East India Company, operating on the ground, as well as the theatergoers that saw John Dryden’s plays in London, favored the dynastic stability of Timurid India. This represents an interesting diversity of European images of the Mogor, and asks for a careful analysis of their motives and impact.

Abstract: this study reconstructs the organizing experience and political participation of high school students during the conflictive period in which salvador allende governed chile (1970-1973). from an initial enthusiasm to the appearance of deep cracks that divided the federación de estudiantes secundarios (feses) in two blocs, the period was characterized by a high level of politicization and a massive student participation, few times seen, which took longer to reappear in chile. although education was only one of the various struggle fronts that motivated social and political actors of that time to participate, it is possible to see here evidences of the main political stances and partisan structure of chile.

ROJAS FLORES,JORGE;
Historia (Santiago) , 2007, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-71942007000100005
Abstract: this article demonstrates that there was an early influence of children rights ideas in chile between 1900 and 1930. these ideas were expressed through declarations that circulated in chilean society and were variable. they ranged from those that demanded physical protection for children to those that pushed for a recognition of highest levels of autonomy of them. even though these declarations did not have a solid supporting doctrine, they generated an impact in intellectual circles at the beginning of the twentieth century. the different opinions elaborated about children rights -opposing or supporting them- gave room to the establishment of public policies about the issue, which are presented in this work

This study reconstructs the organizing experience and political participation of High School students during the conflictive period in which Salvador Allende governed Chile (1970-1973). LOS DERECHOS DEL NI O EN CHILE: UNA APROXIMACIóN HISTóRICA, 1910-1930

Historia (Santiago) , 2007,
This article demonstrates that there was an early influence of children rights ideas in Chile between 1900 and 1930. Fronteras porosas: El caso de México y Estados Unidos
Jorge Rebolledo Flores
Revista Enfoques : Ciencia Política y Administración Pública , 2008,
Abstract: In this work, the author evaluates through a theoretical and historical perspective the several strategies adopted by the US government in order to deal with the challenges posed by the US-Mexican border. In this effort, an answer is offered to a relatively frequent question: i.e. what has kept the establishment of the “natural” labor and economical logic in the US-Mexican border control? The proposed answer, drawing its inspiration from constructivism, suggests that the American perception of Mexico as a threat becomes the leit motif of the US-Mexican border control. Fromthis answer, the author derives the following hypothesis: it is only through the erosion of this perception that a new strategy, underpinned by a different logic, can be envisaged. Keywords:
Jorge Mario Flores Osorio
JORGE HUMBERTO MEZA FLORES
