Creative Education (CE) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2015.617186
Abstract: This paper emerges from our researches and educational professional practices in higher education on teacher’s formation. The concern is with the interdisciplinary formation of future teachers and the goal is to provide theoretical discussions and practical experiences that support an understanding of the world and its history as close to reality as possible. In the first part, we discussed the concepts of disciplinary and interdisciplinary. We assumed that the reach of current stage of scientific and technological knowledge was due to the specialization of areas and sub-areas of knowledge in the disciplinary context, particularly in undergraduate and graduate. The side effect of this development is manifested in fragmented conceptions of the world and the individual, especially when disciplinary emphasis is given in stages of basic education, with damage to omnilateral formation, social relations and environmental sustainability. In the second part we discussed formation processes developed in Brazilian graduation courses: the necessary link “content, methodology and teaching practice” and the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue with a view to the formation of individuals able to integrate themselves critically in processes of material and cultural contemporary production. In spite of the official curriculum proposals advocate interdisciplinary formation, evaluative systems in large scale reduce the contents to be evaluated at the teaching of the mother tongue and mathematics, with interference in the school system and the teacher’s work. Finally, we question the professor’s formation in its historical and social context. We argue that the rescue of individual’s formation as a historic person aware of his transformative role involves interdisciplinary formation as condition to a suitable conception of the world and to a social integration of the individual that allows harmonious relationship with himself, others and the world.
The Teaching, the Research and the University Extension and Educational Demands: Historical Challenges for Initial and Continued Teacher Formation  [PDF]

Creative Education (CE) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2016.710155
Abstract: This article has a main goal to present results of the reflection on some aspects of historical challenges for initial and continuing teacher formation in Brazil. Our reflections have been prepared and envisaged in our defenses in processes that must happen under solid offered foundations, centrally, in direct relation to university contexts signed on the tripod teaching, research and extension. However, we consider that the legal aspects that have guided the formation process of teachers in Brazil have favored both the theoretical emptying of these processes, as certain strangeness, by teachers of their own teaching. We believe in the end that the formation process of teachers in Brazil, in a direct relationship with the teaching, research and university extension, should provide training and work conditions so that teachers can take as posture and as conception of the world the search for radical (root) apprehension of the educational phenomenon in its essence, beyond what it is immediately noticeable, in an unveiling effort of the laws that produced such phenomenon.
Silva, Roberto Ribeiro da;Machado, Patrícia Fernandes Lootens;
Ciência & Educa??o (Bauru) , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-73132008000200004
Abstract: conceptions of the role of experiments in chemical education, which were dominant from the 1960's to 1990's, did not take into consideration environmental issues. generally, this fact can also be observed at present in the lack of management of chemical wastes produced in experimental classes and in the lack of policies, which guarantee the security of students and teachers, and of school communities, according to research carried out in 26 public schools of distrito federal in brazil. conscientious practice of experimentation in initial and continuous formation of teachers requires that, besides the problematization and discussions of scientific concepts, environmental issues be included, so that experimenting could turn into an environmental education action.
Interaction between neutrophils and Schistosoma mansoni larvae in vivo: a transmission electron-microscopic study
Melo, Alan Lane de;Machado, Concei??o Ribeiro da Silva;Pereira, Leógenes Horácio;
Revista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de S?o Paulo , 1993, DOI: 10.1590/S0036-46651993000100005
Abstract: schistosoma mansoni cercariae were inoculated into the peritoneal cavity of naive mice and recovered 30 minutes later. ultrastructural studies showed that neutrophils adhere to the larval surface and participate in the removal of glycocalyx by phagocytosis. this finding suggests that the neutrophils can play a role on the cercaria-schistosomulum transformation process.
Host cell adhesion to Schistosoma mansoni larvae in the peritoneal cavity of naive mice: histological and scanning electron microscopic studies
Melo, Alan Lane de;Machado, Concei??o Ribeiro da Silva;Pereira, Leógenes Horácio;
Revista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de S?o Paulo , 1993, DOI: 10.1590/S0036-46651993000100003
Abstract: cercariae of schistosoma mansoni inoculated into the peritoneal cavity of naive mice induced host cell adhesion to their surface, but after 90 minutes the number of adherent cells sharply decreased. the cell detachment is progressive and simultaneous to the cercaria-schistosomule transformation. the histological study showed mainly neutrophils in close contact with the larvae. mononuclear cells and some eosinophils were occasionally seen surrounding the adherent neutrophils. the scanning electron microscopy showed cells displaying twisted microvilli and several microplicae contacting or spreading over the larval surface, and larvae completely surrounded by clusters of cells. these results suggest that the neutrophils recognize molecules on the cercarial surface which induce their spreading

The aim of this article is to do a comparative analysis relative to the investigation of biological paternity of children born out of wedlock in Brazil and european countries, based on the research of legislative documents through the internet and the consultation of legal bibliography in the area of family law. The legislative typology was made - absolute biological truth and relative biological truth according to the following variables: forms of paternal attribution (voluntary/court ordered), type of demanded consent for the performance of the genetic test (voluntary/forced), author of the investigation (state/other) and the time limit of the investigation (existence of process deadlines/no process deadlines). The absolute biological truth occurs when the investigation of paternity is compulsory and the court might order and force the submission to a genetic test. The dominating trend is relative biological truth. In all analysed countries it has been verified that the resource to genetic testing is preponderant when establishing affiliation relations. Even in countries where it's not possible to force an individual to the submission of a genetic exam, there are more subtle ways of submission, that include the application of fines o

Scientia Medica , 2007,
Objective: To describe the recommendations for the determination of the blood pressure in newborn, the methods and the devices. Sources of data: Review of medical articles about blood pressure in newborn published in the last twenty years (database: Medline, PubMed) and original articles about the flush method. Summary of the findings: Several factors complicate the measures and interpretation of the blood pressure in newborns, like variable size of the upper arm, difficulty in tearful newborn and variation in the blood pressure regarding the weight and gestational age. The measure of the blood pressure should be performed preferentially in the right upper arm, with cuff size corresponding to 40% of the circumference of the upper arm and that involves 80% to 100% of the respective extremity. Nowadays, noninvasive measurements methods of the blood pressure feel well spread, especially the use of oscillometric automatic. Moreover, the antique flush method and pulse oximetry techniques have been being cited in the literature. Like more important limitation to meets itself the validation absence of the devices in neonatology, especially in the oscillometrics devic
