Open Access Library Journal (OALib Journal) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/oalib.1104612
Abstract:
The jealousy is a reaction to a real or imagined threat perceived at an estimated relationship. The jealousy is present to a greater or lesser extent in all at some point in life. This study aims to understand how jealousy is experienced by homosexual couples, identifying if such mechanisms are similar or different of the heterosexual jealousy. To address this objective, we performed a systematic review of the literature on this subject. It can be observed that jealousy is present in affective-sexual gay relationships, being a protective factor for the maintenance of the loving relationship minimizing the risk of sexual and emotional loss. It highlighted the need for new issues to understand the homosexual jealousy can be more damaging relationships than in heterosexual jealousy and identify if cultural conditions affect the manifestation of it among homosexuals.
Solutions to perturbed eigenvalue problems of the p-Laplacian in RN

Electronic Journal of Differential Equations , 1997,
Abstract: Using a variational approach, we investigate the existence of solutions for non-autonomous perturbations of the p-Laplacian eigenvalue problem $$ -Delta _pu=f(x,u)quad { m in}quad {Bbb R}^N,. $$ Under the assumptions that the primitive $F(x,u)$ of $f(x,u)$ interacts only with the first eigenvalue, we look for solutions in the space $D^{1,p}({Bbb R}^N)$. Furthermore, we assume a condition that measures how different the behavior of the function $F(x,u)$ is from that of the $p$-power of $u$.
A multiplicity result for a class of superquadratic Hamiltonian systems

Electronic Journal of Differential Equations , 2003,
Abstract: We establish the existence of two nontrivial solutions to semilinear elliptic systems with superquadratic and subcritical growth rates. For a small positive parameter $ lambda $, we consider the system $$displaylines{ -Delta v = lambda f(u) quad hbox{in } Omega , cr -Delta u = g(v) quad hbox{in } Omega , cr u = v=0 quad hbox{on } partial Omega , }$$ where $Omega$ is a smooth bounded domain in $mathbb{R}^N$ with $Ngeq 1$. One solution is obtained applying Ambrosetti and Rabinowitz's classical Mountain Pass Theorem, and the other solution by a local minimization. end{abstract}

Journal of Software Engineering and Applications (JSEA) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jsea.2014.75034
Abstract: Nowadays, application model systems for decision-making based on non-classical logic such as Paraconsistent Logic are used successfully in the treatment of uncertainties. The method presented in this paper is based on the fundamental concepts of Paraconsistent Annotated Logic with annotation of 2 values (PAL2v). In this study, two algorithms based on PAL2v are presented gradually, to extract the effects of the contradiction in signals of information from a database of uncertain knowledge. The Paraconsistent Extractors Algorithms of Contradiction Effect-Para Extrctr is applied to filters of networks of analyses (PANets) of signal information, where uncertain and contradictory signals may be found. Software test case scenarios are subordinated to an application model of Paraconsistent decision-making, which provides an analysis using Paraconsistent Logic in the treatment of uncertainties for design software testing strategies. This quality-quantity criterion to evaluate the software product quality is based on the characteristics of software testability analysis. The Para consistent reasoning application model system presented in this case study, reveals itself to be more efficient than the traditional methods because it has the potential to offer an appropriate treatment to different originally contradicting source information.

Computer Science , 2015,
Abstract: In this paper we study the differences in historical World View between Western and Eastern cultures, represented through the English, the Chinese, Japanese, and German Wikipedia. In particular, we analyze the historical networks of the World's leaders since the beginning of written history, comparing them in the different Wikipedias and assessing cultural chauvinism. We also identify the most influential female leaders of all times in the English, German, Spanish, and Portuguese Wikipedia. As an additional lens into the soul of a culture we compare top terms, sentiment, emotionality, and complexity of the English, Portuguese, Spanish, and German Wikinews.

Abstract: Nowadays networks of analyses based in non-classic logics are used with success in the treatment of uncertainties. The characteristic of accepting the contradiction in his structure is the main cause of the methodologies based in Paraconsistent Logic is ideals for applications in systems of analyses and decision making. In this work we presented an algorithm based in Paraconsistent logic capable to extract in a gradual way the effects of the contradiction in originated signals of information of uncertain knowledge database. The Algorithm Paraconsistent Extractor of Contradiction effects - Paraextrctrctr is formed with base in fundamental concepts of the Paraconsistent Annotated Logic with annotation of two values (PAL2v) it can be applied in filters of networks of analyses of signal information where uncertain and contradictory signals can be present. The process of extraction of the effect of the contradiction is always begun by the largest inconsistency degree among two signals that belong to the group that is in analysis. In the end of the analysis it is found a consensus value. In this work we presented numeric example and one example of application of the Paraextrctrctr in Load Profile Forecast used in support to decision of the operation in an Electric Power System, but his application potentiality is demonstrated in several fields of the Artificial Intelligence.

Abstract: introduction: the need for defining the extension of disease in patients undergoing radical prostatectomy due to prostate adenocarcinoma is a relevant factor cure in such individuals. in order to identify a new independent preoperative factor for predicting the extension of prostate cancer, we assessed the role of the percentage of positive fragments upon biopsy. materials and methods: a retrospective study compared the percentage of positive fragments on biopsy with the extension of disease as defined by the pathological examination of the surgical specimen from 898 patients undergoing radical prostatectomy due to clinically localized prostate cancer. results: on the univariate analysis, the percentage of positive fragments on biopsy showed a statistical significance for predicting confined disease (p < 0.001), which was found in 66.7% of the cases under study. additionally, we observed that the total number of removed fragments exerts no influence on the extension of the disease (p = 0.567). conclusion: the percentage of positive fragments is an independent factor for predicting the pathological stage of prostate adenocarcinoma, and the number of removed fragments is not related to the extension of the disease.

Abstract: Background The training to become a dentist can create psychological distress. The present study evaluates the structure of the ‘Perceived Stress Questionnaire’ (PSQ), its internal consistency model and interrelatedness with burnout, anxiety, depression and resilience among dental students. Methods The study employed a cross-sectional design. A sample of Spanish dental students (n = 314) completed the PSQ, the ‘Goldberg Anxiety and Depression Scale’ (GADS), ‘Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale’ (10-item CD-RISC) and ‘Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey’ (MBI-SS). The structure was estimated using Parallel Analysis from polychoric correlations. Unweighted Least Squares was the method for factor extraction, using the Item Response Theory to evaluate the discriminative power of items. Internal consistency was assessed by squaring the correlation between the latent true variable and the observed variable. The relationships between the PSQ and the other constructs were analysed using Spearman’s coefficient. Results The results showed a PSQ structure through two sub-factors (‘frustration’ and ‘tenseness’) with regard to one general factor (‘perceived stress’). Items that did not satisfy discriminative capacity were rejected. The model fit were acceptable (GFI = 0.98; RSMR = 0.06; AGFI = 0.98; NFI = 0.98; RFI = 0.98). All the factors showed adequate internal consistency as measured by the congeneric model (≥0.91). High and significant associations were observed between perceived stress and burnout, anxiety, depression and resilience. Conclusions The PSQ showed a hierarchical bi-factor structure among Spanish dental students. Using the questionnaire as a uni-dimensional scale may be useful in perceived stress level discrimination, while the sub-factors could help us to refine perceived stress analysis and improve therapeutic processes.
