Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2017.52010
Abstract: In the mobile network era, governments at all levels realize that after incidents, the attention and participation of Internet users on the incidents through their mobile phones significantly influence political trust. How to deal with the adverse effects of Internet political participation during emergencies has become a focus in academia. This study investigates the effects of Internet political participation on government trust using quantitative analysis methods, including questionnaire survey and data analysis, and explores whether government information disclosure moderates the effects. Results show that after emergencies, the more relevant information the public obtains from mobile Internet, the higher the public assessment on the ability and benevolence dimensions of government trust. However, such information negatively affects assessment on the integrity dimension. In addition, the more political behaviors the public express through mobile Internet, the lower they view the ability dimension. The findings also suggest that government information disclosure positively moderates all the relations. Nevertheless, human interaction with others through mobile Internet is not directly and significantly related to government trust.

Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/am.2012.37115
Abstract: In this paper we deal with a cubic near-Hamiltonian system whose unperturbed system is a simple cubic Hamiltonian system having a nilpotent center. We prove that the system can have 5 limit cycles by using bifurcation theory.
Study of Informative Advertising Competition Model in Duopolistic Market with Relative Profit Object  [PDF]
Jiao Lu
Journal of Service Science and Management (JSSM) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/jssm.2017.102009
To study how the relative profit object influences duopolistic retailers’ advertising decisions, this paper adds the relative profit object on the Hotelling Model to study its influence on advertising decisions. Through the calculation and analysis of the advertising competition model, we found that the balanced advertising level and product price is positively related to product differentiation level. The relationship between balanced profit and product differentiation level is related to the range of each variable. The balanced product price is positively related to advertising cost, while the balanced advertising level and profit is negatively related to advertising cost. The balanced product price, advertising level and profit are negatively related to relative profit ratio. Commonly, the higher the relative object ratio, the advertising level should be higher. This paper gets the opposite conclusion. Through analysis and discussion, we found that this is mainly influenced by the advertising cost level. As in this paper the advertising cost level is restricted to be high, enterprises will choose to raise price for more profit and lower advertising level to reduce cost while the relative profit ratio increases.
Are Mispricings Long-Lasting or Short-Lived? Evidence from S & P 500 Index ETF Options  [PDF]
Feng Jiao
Theoretical Economics Letters (TEL) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/tel.2018.83027
Abstract: A rapidly growing literature has documented evidences suggesting the mispricing of options. Building on recent results of option pricing bounds imposed by stochastic dominance, this paper examines the time-series proprieties of such mispricing. In an application to high-frequency bid/ask quotes of S & P 500 index ETF options, this paper provides evidences that most violations of the stochastic dominance bounds last no more than 10 trading hours. The typical duration of mispricing is even shorter for near to maturity options. The results imply that the observed widespread mispricing in options might be the result of temporary inefficiency (e.g. transaction costs, overreaction, liquidity etc.) rather than a model misspecification, such as estimation biases of the parameters, or an overlooked persistent risk factor.
Analysis of the Value of Brand Equity from the Perspective of Consumer Psychology  [PDF]
Lintong Jiao
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2018.612007
Abstract: Brand equity is an important object of study in the field of marketing and consumer psychology. This paper proceeds from the three constituent elements of brand equity, and taking “Xiang Piao Piao” brand as an example, expounds the role of these factors such as brand awareness, perceived quality, brand preferences resulting from consumer subjective factors in enhancing the value of brand equity. Combining the information from “Xiang Piao Piao Foods Co., Ltd. initial public offering of shares and listing prospectus” published by China Securities Regulatory Commission, this paper analyzes the important role of brand equity for promoting the development of enterprise.
How Institutional Distance and International Experience Affect the Success or Failure of Foreign Direct Investment by Chinese Enterprises?  [PDF]
Jiao Yang
American Journal of Industrial and Business Management (AJIBM) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/ajibm.2019.93035
With the sample of 2571 foreign direct investment of multinational enterprises in China from 2005 to 2016, the Logit model is used in this paper to empirically test the influence of host country system differences and international experience on the success or failure of foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises. Our empirical findings are: the greater the difference in institutional distance (whether positive or negative), the larger the possibility that foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises will fail, that is, the institutional distance is featured by “symmetric effect” on the success or failure of foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises; as a “distance bridging” variable, international experience has regulatory effect that weakens the negative effect of institutional distance on Chinese enterprises’ overseas direct investment success rate in the negative institutional distance, but has no regulating effect in the positive institutional distance, which is featured by “asymmetric effect”; the adjustment of institutional distance to the success or failure of foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises has industry characteristics. When Chinese enterprises directly invest in “sensitive” industries, the adjustment effect of international experience on the relationship between negative institutional distance and investment success or failure is less obvious than that in “non-sensitive” industries. In addition, the sample data of foreign investment by China’s multinational corporation in the “Belt and Road” countries are examined, which is consistent with conclusions. The research results also show that the host country’s dependence on trade, infrastructure and strategic resources are all important factors affecting the success or failure of foreign direct investment of Chinese multinational enterprises. According to the above conclusions, some suggestions and countermeasures are proposed in this paper.

Abstract: We study the existence and uniqueness of solutions and nonlocal controllability for the impulsive semilinear nonlocal fuzzy integrodifferential equations in -dimensional fuzzy vector space by using short-term perturbations techniques and Banach fixed point theorem. This is an extension of the result of Kwun et al. (Kwun et al., 2009) to impulsive system.

Abstract: Objective To assess health risks associated with inhalation exposure to formaldehyde and benzene mainly emitted from building and decoration materials in newly remodeled indoor spaces in Beijing. Methods We tested the formaldehyde and benzene concentrations in indoor air of 410 dwellings and 451 offices remodeled within the past year, in which the occupants had health concerns about indoor air quality. To assess non-carcinogenic health risks, we compared the data to the health guidelines in China and USA, respectively. To assess carcinogenic health risks, we first modeled indoor personal exposure to formaldehyde and benzene using the concentration data, and then estimated the associated cancer risks by multiplying the indoor personal exposure by the Inhalation Unit Risk values (IURs) provided by the U.S. EPA Integrated Risk Information System (U.S. EPA IRIS) and the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), respectively. Results (1) The indoor formaldehyde concentrations of 85% dwellings and 67% offices were above the acute Reference Exposure Level (REL) recommended by the OEHHA and the concentrations of all tested buildings were above the chronic REL recommended by the OEHHA; (2) The indoor benzene concentrations of 12% dwellings and 32% offices exceeded the reference concentration (RfC) recommended by the U.S. EPA IRIS; (3) The median cancer risks from indoor exposure to formaldehyde and benzene were 1,150 and 106 per million (based on U.S. EPA IRIS IURs), 531 and 394 per million (based on OEHHA IURs). Conclusions In the tested buildings, formaldehyde exposure may pose acute and chronic non-carcinogenic health risks to the occupants, whereas benzene exposure may pose chronic non-carcinogenic risks to the occupants. Exposure to both compounds is associated with significant carcinogenic risks. Improvement in ventilation, establishment of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emission labeling systems for decorating and refurbishing materials are recommended to reduce indoor VOCs exposure.
