Some Improvement on Convergence Rates of Kernel Density Estimator  [PDF]

In this paper two kernel density estimators are introduced and investigated. In order to reduce bias, we intuitively subtract an estimated bias term from ordinary kernel density estimator. The second proposed density estimator is a geometric extrapolation of the first bias reduced estimator. Theoretical properties such as bias, variance and mean squared error are investigated for both estimators. To observe their finite sample performance, a Monte Carlo simulation study based on small to moderately large samples is presented.

Economic Growth Efficiency and Productivity Constrained by Government Debts  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper analyzes the panel data of 60 countries during the period 1990-2014. It employs non-radial and non-angled slack-based measure (SBM) method to count the economic growth efficiency and inefficiency sources under government debt constraints. The results show that traditional efficiency is usually higher than economic growth efficiency, and the latter can better reflect real economic situation. In addition, debt inefficiency is the main cause of declining economic growth efficiency in all countries, and it has the greatest impact on developing countries. Meanwhile, this paper also adopts the global reference Global-Malmquist-Luenberger (GML) index to measure total factor productivity (TFP) and further decomposes it into technological changes and efficiency changes. It is found that technological progress and efficiency improvement are the main driving forces for enhancing total factor productivity.

Abstract: Thirteen difluoromethyl-containing pseudopeptides were synthesized by Ugi reaction using the novel building block 2,2-difluoro-2-(phenylthio)acetic acid (2) as one component, followed by removal of the phenylsulfanyl protecting group in the presence of tributyltin hydride and azobisisobutyronitrile.
k-DAG Based Lifetime Aware Data Collection in Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract: Wireless Sensor Networks need to be organized for efficient data collection and lifetime maximization. In this paper, we propose a novel routing structure, namely k-DAG, to balance the load of the base station's neighbours while providing the worst-case latency guarantee for data collection, and a distributed algorithm for construction a k-DAG based on a SPD (Shortest Path DAG). In a k-DAG, the lengths of the longest path and the shortest path of each sensor node to the base station differ by at most k. By adding sibling edges to a SPD, our distributed algorithm allows critical nodes to have more routing choices. The simulation results show that our approach significantly outperforms the SPD-based data collection approach in both network lifetime and load balance.
Effects of Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress on Pulmonary Hypertension in Rat Induced by Chronic Hypoxia and Hypercapnia  [PDF]

Abstract: Objective: To observe the pulmonary vascular remodeling in rats with pulmonary hypertension induced by hypoxia and hypercapnia, and to explore the role of endoplasmic reticulum stress in pulmonary hypertension. Methods: 1) 40 SD rats were randomly divided into four groups: normoxic control group (N), hypoxia hypercapnia group (HH), endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) inhibitor 4-phenyl butyric acid group (4-PBA), ERS pathway agonist tunicamycin group (TM). 2) The mean pulmonary arterial pressure (mPAP) and the right ventricular hypertrophy index (RV/(LV + S)) were measured in each group. 3) Identification of pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMCs) in each group by immunofluorescence α-SMA. 4) Morphological changes of lung tissue and pulmonary artery were observed by electron microscope. 5) The apoptotic index of PASMCs in each group was detected by TUNEL. 6) Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western Blot (WB) were used to detect the expression of ERS related protein and mRNA (GRP78, CHOP, JNK, Caspase-12) in each group. Results: 1) Compared with the N group, the mPAP, RV/(LV + S) and vascular wall area (WA)/total area (TA) value of HH group, 4-PBA group and TM group were increased (P < 0.01), and the vascular lumen area (LA)/TA values, PASMCs apoptosis index were significantly decreased. GRP78, CHOP, JNK, Caspase-12 expression were increased, and the differences were statistically significant. 2) Compared with the HH group, the mPAP, RV/(LV + S) and WA/TA of 4-PBA group were decreased (P < 0.01); the LA/TA value and PASMCs apoptosis index were increased (P < 0.05); and the mRNA and protein expression of CHOP, JNK, Caspase-12 and GRP78 had a significant decrease (P < 0.05). 3) Compared with the HH, the mPAP, RV/(LV + S) and WA/TA of TM group were increased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), while LA/TA were decreased (P < 0.01); and? PASMCs apoptotic index was increased (P < 0.01). Meanwhile, the mRNA expression of Caspase-12, CHOP, JNK and GRP78 was increased to varying degrees (P < 0.05), and the protein expression of Caspase-12, CHOP and JNK was also increased significantly (P < 0.01). Conclusion: Hypoxia and hypercapnia induced pulmonary vascular remodeling may be related to the proliferation of PASMCs, and ERS related factors (JNK, Caspase12 and CHOP) are involved in the regulation of hypoxic hypercapnia.

This paper reviews the commercial banks’ previous exploration and attempt in the service of scientific and technological innovation enterprises. And afterwards, as now the government has officially launched policies and delineated pilot institutions and areas to carry out the investment and lending linkage business, this paper discusses the opportunities and challenges associated with commercial banks to engage in the investment and lending linkage business. Finally, this paper puts forward relevant proposals for commercial banks to serve technology innovation enterprises. Through post-event reviews and present discussions, hopefully this paper can provide some references for commercial banks to carry out the investment and linkage business.
Crowding-Out Effect of Exports on Domestic Consumption: An Analysis Based on Panel Data of Several Industries in China  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper tries to use the data of 1998-2014 about nine departments (department of food, beverage and tobacco, department of fabric and clothing, department of car and motorcar and relative spare and accessory parts, department of medicine and the medical machine, department of culture, sports and relative equipment, minerals, building materials and chemical products division, house appliances division, computer auxiliary equipment division and else departments) to make the regression by Eviews 8.0. We find that department of food, beverage and tobacco and department of car and motorcar and relative spare and accessory parts, department of medicine and the medical machine, department of culture, sports and relative equipment do have crowding-out effect of exports on domestic consumption. Finally, in response to the policy of expanding the demand by analyzing the empirical result, we provide some recommendations from the perspective of export trade.

Abstract: As one of the most huge and potential markets in the world, China has a series of powerful IT companies, such as Tencent, Alibaba, and Xiaomi and so on. Based on such a market and huge population, these companies have very good future in developing and making profits. As a result, studying on them becomes more and more important for the market to know how these companies develop and how their stocks change. This paper focuses on the developing trend of Tencent and tries to provide a valuable investment suggestion for the market. At last, this paper finds that Tencent, as one of the biggest IT companies in China, has very great developing potential with its achievements in the game industry. The main contributions of this paper are that it has found future developing points of Tencent in the game industry and that it points out a new developing power in IT industry, the Entertainment power. The main limitation of this paper is that it has only checked one IT company, the Tencent, instead of comparing different companies to show how Tencent gets benefits from game industry.
SKF83959, an Agonist of Phosphatidylinositol-Linked D1-Like Receptors, Promotes ERK1/2 Activation and Cell Migration in Cultured Rat Astrocytes

Abstract: Extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) is a member of the mitogen-activated protein kinase family. It can mediate cell migration. Classical dopamine receptor-mediated ERK1/2 phosphorylation is widely studied in neurons. Here, we report that ERK1/2 phosphorylation is also modulated by putative phosphatidylinositol-linked D1-like receptors in cultured rat astrocytes. 6-chloro-7,8-dihydroxy-3-methyl-1-(3-met?hylphenyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-3-benza?zepine(SKF83959), an agonist of the putative phosphatidylinositol-linked D1-like receptors, was found to enhance ERK1/2 phosphorylation, which then promoted the migration of cultured astrocytes. The SKF83959-induced ERK1/2 phosphorylation was found to be Ca2+-independent based on the following observations: i. chelating intracellular Ca2+ did not inhibit ERK1/2 phosphorylation and astrocyte migration; ii. blockage of the release of intracellular Ca2+ from the endoplasmic reticulum by an inhibitor of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3) receptor did not attenuate ERK1/2 phosphorylation. However, inhibition of phospholipase C (PLC), the upstream molecule of internal Ca2+ release, disabled SKF83959’s ability to elevate the level of ERK1/2 phosphorylation. Both non-selective protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor and PKCδ selective inhibitor prevented ERK1/2 phosphorylation increase and astrocyte migration, but PKCα inhibitor did not. This suggests that Ca2+-independent and diacylglycerol-dependent PKCδ acts downstream of putative phosphatidylinositol-linked D1-like receptor activation and mediates SKF83959-induced elevation of ERK1/2 phosphorylation in order to modulate astrocyte migration. In conclusion, our results demonstrate that SKF83959-induced increases in ERK1/2 phosphorylation and astrocyte migration are dependent on PLC-PKCδ signals. This might help us to further understand the functions of the putative phosphatidylinositol-linked D1-like receptors in the nervous system.
