Effect of Monascus Fermentation on Aroma Patterns of Semi-Dried Grass Carp  [PDF]

Abstract: The aim of the present study is to investigate the effects of Monascus fermentation on the aroma pattern of semi-dried grass carp. Semi-dried fish was fermented using Monascus purpureus GDMCC3.439. The volatile flavor substances present in fresh fish, semi-dry fish and Monascus fermented semi-dried fish were compared by simultaneous distillation and extraction combined with gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer (GC-MS). The results showed that alcohols, aldehydes and ketones were the main components of the flavor of the unfermented and fermented semi-dried grass crap. Monascus fermentation could significantly affect the volatile flavor substances of semi-dried grass carp. Moreover, the processing of semi-dried fish fermented by Monascus could not only effectively improve the fishy smell of fresh fish, but also make up for the defect of the pickled flavor of semi-dried fish. Abstract: A ratio-dependent predator-prey system with Holling type III functional response and feedback controls is proposed. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov function and using the comparison theorem of difference equation, sufficient conditions which ensure the permanence and global attractivity of the system are obtained. After that, under some suitable conditions, we show that the predator species will be driven to extinction. Examples together with their numerical simulations show that the main results are verifiable.
Board Monitoring, Management Contracting and Earnings Management: An Evidence from ASX Listed Companies

Abstract: This study investigates the influence of board monitoring and management contracting on earnings management. The strengthening of corporate governance following the Enron era was designed to gain investors’ confidence and ensure the truthfulness of financial information. Contracting is employed as an instrument to align the interests of agents with those of shareholders which are ultimately to maximise the value and minimise monitoring costs. By developing measures of board monitoring in accordance with the Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations (CGPR) released by the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) Corporate Governance Council (2009) and management contracting, this study presents evidence in an Australian context that both board monitoring and management contacting influence the extent of earnings management individually and collectively. Using a sample of 138 ASX listed companies, this study finds that discretionary accruals have shown various patterns across a range of observation periods. A higher incidence of CEO duality is significantly related to lower levels of earnings management. The independence of the boards is associated with higher levels of earnings management. The results show that managerial ownership has a positive effect on discretionary accruals. Furthermore, the impact of managerial ownership outweighs the impact of board monitoring on returned earnings, particularly on the reporting of income-increasing accruals. It is observed that the strategic shareholdings of senior management have more impact on earnings than short-term incentives. This demonstrates that long-term managerial ownership is a more effective way of aligning the interests of mangers with those of shareholders than short-term compensation such as bonus plan.

Abstract: In order to eliminate the influence of the misalignment error of compensator on aspheric test,phase reflective Fresnel zone plate(PRFZP),a kind of diffractive optical regulator,was designed and fabricated surrounding the pattern of compensator.With the help of very large scale integration (VLSI) facilities,compensator and regulator were integrated on the same substrate.Because of the self-alignment function of PRFZP,the wavefront reflected by PRFZP interfered with the reference wavefront and the alignment interference pattern was formed.During the test,the position of compensator could be fine adjusted by adjusting the defocus,bias and tilt misalignments to make the interference pattern in the simplest form.Through fine adjustment,an approximately zero alignment interference pattern was obtained which demonstrated that the misalignment errors of compensator were effectively eliminated.
Effects of Surface Modification of MWCNT on the Mechanical and Electrical Properties of Fluoro Elastomer/MWCNT Nanocomposites

Abstract: Surface modification is a good way to improve the surface activity and interfacial strength of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) when used as fillers in the polymer composites. Among the reported methods for nanotube modification, mixed acid oxidation and plasma treatment is often used by introducing polar groups to the sidewall of MWCNT successfully. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of different surface modification of MWCNT on the mechanical property and electrical conductivity of Fluoro-elastomer (FE)/MWCNT nanocomposites. MWCNTs were surface modified by mixed oxidation and CF4 plasma treatment and then used to reinforce the fluoro elastomer (FE, a copolymer of trifluorochloroethylene and polyvinylidene fluoride). FE/MWCNT composite films were prepared from mixture solutions of ethylacetate and butylacetate, using untreated CNTs (UCNTs), acid-modified CNTs (ACNTs), and CF4 plasma-modified CNT (FCNTs). In each case, MWCNT content was 0.01 wt%, 0.05 wt%, 0.1 wt%, and 0.2 wt% with respect to the polymer. Morphology and mechanical properties were characterized by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, as well as dynamic mechanical tests. The SEM results indicated that dispersion of ACNTs and especially FCNTs in FE was better than that of UCNTs. DMA indicated mechanical properties of FCNT composites were improved over ACNT and UCNT filled FE. The resulting electrical properties of the composites ranged from dielectric behavior to bulk conductivities of 10-2 Sm-1 and were found to depend strongly on the surface modification methods of MWCNTs.
Sm-Nd age dating of high-pressure granulites and amphibolite from Sanggan area, North China craton

Abstract: The high pressure (HP) metamorphic age has been dated to HP rocks from the Sanggan area, North China craton. We have got garnet+whole rock isochron ages of (1 842±38) Ma for HP granulite, and (1 856 ±26) Ma for HP amphibolite. The Sm-Nd whole rock isochron of HP granulites give out an age of (1870±150) Ma with Nd depleted mantle model age of (2402–2482) Ma. Considering the Nd isotope homogenization during the peak metamorphism of the HP granulite, Sm-Nd closure temperature and the retention of Nd isotopic memory in garnets partially broken down during decompression, all these isochron ages are thought to be HP metamorphic age. Furthermore, we proposed that the HP metamorphism took place at the end of Paleoproterozoic during the large-scale collision and assembly of the North China craton.
