Cai Jie, Luo Jing
Chinese Studies (ChnStd) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/chnstd.2015.44017
Abstract: With the booming development of economic globalization nowadays, intercultural communication becomes more and more important. Based on Hofstede’s indulgence-restraint dimension, this thesis aims to testify whether Hofstede’s opinion that China is largely a restrained country, is correct in Guangdong Province, a coastal area with the largest population of China, and to investigate different groups of people’s different tendencies toward indulgence and restraint. The study is carried out in Guangdong Province, because Guangdong is a special area which is one of the most rapidly developing areas in China and it locates next to Macau and Hong Kong, which may bring it with more different cultures and ideas. After conducting a questionnaire survey in Guangdong with a self-made questionnaire, the author gets the following findings. 1) The subjects generally show a stronger tendency toward indulgence than to restraint through comparing the mean scores of them respectively. 2) With respect to genders, males have fewer tendencies toward indulgence than females and more tendencies toward restraint. 3) Considering age groups, people aged more have more tendencies toward restraint and fewer tendencies toward indulgence. What’s more, people aged from 18 to 60 are generally indulgence-oriented while people aged above 60 years old are generally restraint-oriented. 4) People with different disposable income groups and different educational backgrounds have no significant difference in general. All of them, generally, tend to be indulgent. The results of the study can help both foreign and local people to know more about Guangdong so as to enhance the mutual understanding to improve communication efficiency and help construct a harmonious society.

Case Reports in Clinical Medicine (CRCM) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/crcm.2018.76037
Abstract: Osteoporosis is commonly seen in aged people, but not much attention is paid to it. Patient compliance is challenged by many factors, including long-time treatment and high rates of fatality and disability caused by fragility fractures. With age-related changes, the treatment will last for a lifetime. A clinical case of postmenopausal patient who had received incontinuous treatment of alendronate for 20 years was studied in this article. As the level of compliance varied in different treatment phases, the curative outcome of this patient was altered. This study also presented a literature review to discuss the current situation, treatment and compliance of osteoporosis in China and the corresponding influences on bone mineral density (BMD) and prognosis. Hopefully, this study can increase physicians’ awareness of osteoporosis in clinical treatment and its pharmacotherapy and treatment course.

International Journal of Clinical Medicine (IJCM) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ijcm.2018.98052
Abstract: Objective: To explore the clinical efficacy of Zoledronic Acid Injection in the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis with different bone turnover rates. Methods: A total of 63 patients diagnosed with postmenopausal osteoporosis were included in this study. Each patient was administrated 5 mg/100mL Zoledronic Acid (Aclasta) intravenously once and then given a one-year prescription of 600 mg/d oral Caltrate. The bone turnover parameters (PINP, β-cross, N-MID) were measured prior to the injection of Zoledronic Acid while the bone mineral density (BMD) and the pain scores of each patient were tested before treatment and after the one-year medication. On this basis, the patients were divided into several groups according to their bone turnover rates for intergroup comparison of treatment outcomes. Results: BMD results and pain scores of all participants were significantly improved at different levels after treatment. However, these improvements had no significant differences between the patients with high and low bone turnover rates. Conclusion: Zoledronic Acid Injection can relieve bone pain, enhance the quality of life and increase the BMD in patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis, regardless of the bone turnover status.

Open Journal of Nursing (OJN) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ojn.2018.810053
Abstract: Objective: To define the role of health education in improving patient compliance with Zoledronic Acid for osteoporosis treatment and management and draw closer attention of patients and physicians to the importance of health education. Methods: A total of 198 postmenopausal patients with osteoporosis who were admitted by the osteoporosis outpatient clinic of our hospital and had the first administration of Zoledronic Acid in 2015 were invited to participate in the follow-up visit that involved questions concerning the frequency of health education and the questionnaire survey on osteoporosis in 2015 and the administration of Zoledronic Acid during the past three years. The patients were divided into five groups according to the frequency of health education to compare the survey results of each group in 2015 and 2018 and investigate the differences in the scores and frequency of administration among the five groups. Results: Among the 198 patients, there were 182 attending the follow-up visit. In terms of the frequency of health education (FREQ = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4), these patients were divided into five groups of 47, 63, 35, 18 and 19 members respectively. After three years of treatment, the questionnaire score of each group was higher than the pre-treatment level and the difference showed statistical significance (p < 0.05, respectively); compared to those who had never received health education (FREQ = 0), the patients who had participated in health education activities at different levels (FREQ = 1, 2, 3, 4) scored significantly higher in the questionnaire survey and increased the frequency of administration of Zoledronic Acid on average; particularly, those who had received health education and Zoledronic Acid treatment twice and above benefited the most. Conclusion: Health education is an effective approach to influence a patient’s knowledge connected to relevant diseases in a positive way and improve patient compliance with Zoledronic Acid treatment. An enhanced health education program can be developed to assist the patients in chronic disease management.
N-(4-Chlorophenyl)-2-(hydroxyimino)acetamide
Jie Sun,Zaisheng Cai
Acta Crystallographica Section E , 2009, DOI: 10.1107/s1600536809033315
Abstract: The title compound, C8H7ClN2O2, is an intermediate in the synthesis of 5-chloroisatin, which can be further transformed to 5-chloro-2-indolinone via a Wolff–Kishne reduction. The C2N acetamide plane forms a dihedral angle of 6.3 (3)° with the benzene ring. An intramolecular C—H...O interaction results in the formation of a six-membered ring. In the crystal, intermolecular N—H...O, N—H...N and O—H...O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into multimers, forming sheets.

World Journal of Engineering and Technology (WJET) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/wjet.2015.32007
Abstract: There were various problems in the determination of oil acid value of the national standard method, and this paper developed a low cost, simple and effective way to determine the acid value of oil and grease. Furthermore, the esterification of high acid Euphorbia lathyris L. oil (ELO) with methanol could be efficiently catalyzed by hydrochloric acid to produce biodiesel, and the influencing factors such as the amount of catalyst, reaction time, reaction temperature and molar ratio of oil to methanol were also studied. Under the optimized conditions with the oil to methanol molar ratio of 1:30 and a reaction temperature of 70, 95.8% oil conversion was obtained within 40 min in the presence of only 2.0 wt% of catalyst. Therefore, the low-cost non-edible Euphorbia lathyris L. oil as a raw material had good potential for the synthesis of biodiesel in industry.

Positioning (POS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/pos.2016.71002
Abstract: For scale cotton-picker operation, combination of production resources including field, machine, and drivers, should be organized reasonably both in temporal and spatial dimensions. Xinjian Agri. is such a scale cotton picking service company, which owns more than 400 cotton-pickers, hires nearly 1000 personnel, and works for more than ten big farms each season. The total operation area is about 90,000 ha. In this paper, a Cotton-picker Operation Scheduling & Monitoring System (CPOSMS) was developed for Xinjian Agri. CPOSMS is a WebGIS and BeiDou based management software, which includes four main function modules. Overall scheduling module aims to help the company to create machine fleets for the farms based on operation demands and operation capacity. A real-time evaluation model was studied to adjust the rationality. Local scheduling module is to dispatch machines and personnel to form machine unit. Central navigating module is to guide staff to specific field. Operation monitoring module is to monitor and analyze operation process. Experiments in 2015 showed that the CPOSMS is the necessary tool for the company, and the evaluation model and BeiDou based system can improve management efficiency.

Open Journal of Preventive Medicine (OJPM) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ojpm.2018.87018
Abstract: Objective: To investigate whether sequential regimen such as traditional anti-reabsorption medications followed by zoledronic acid could reduce the side effects after initiation of zoledronic acid in postmenopausal osteoporosis patients. Methods: A total of 156 postmenopausal osteoporosis patients who presented at our osteoporosis outpatient clinic were enrolled in this study. They were randomly divided into four groups: the control group, alendronate group, calcitonin group, and raloxifene group. All participants were treated with Caltrate 600 mg per day and calcitriol 0.25 ug per day as a baseline treatment, followed by administrating 5 mg/100 mL of zoledronic acid intravenously for one single time three months afterwards. During the abovementioned course of three months, the alendronate group received 70 mg of alendronate sodium orally once a week, the calcitonin group received nasal spray form of salmon calcitonin 10iu daily, the raloxifene group received 60mg of raloxifene orally daily, and the control group received nothing but only the baseline treatment. We tested parameters such as β-cross, blood calcium level, renal function both pre and post zoledronic acid treatment. We also documented those side effects that typically occurred within one week of treatment initiation, which included the proportion, severity, onset time, and duration of the fever, demand for pain medication, severity of bone and joint pain, flu-like symptoms, arrhythmia, blood calcium level, and kidney function impairment. We also evaluated how willing the patients were to receive a second dose of zoledronic acid. Then we did comparative analysis between control group and sequential group. Results: The side effects such as fever, bone and joint pain, flu-like symptoms after zoledronic acid treatment in alendronate group and calcitonin group were all significantly lower than that in control group, while raloxifene group showed no significant difference compared to that in the control group. The proportions of patients who needed NSAIDs in the alendronate group and the calcitonin group were significantly lower than that in control group. However, the raloxifene group showed no significant difference in the NSAIDs demand from that of the control group. The percentages of patients who consented to a second dose of zoledronate therapy in the alendronate, calcitonin and raloxifene groups were significantly higher than that in the control group. Conclusions: Sequential treatment with alendronate sodium or
Tracking Dynamic Source Direction with a Novel Stationary Electronic Nose System
Jie Cai,David C. Levy
Sensors , 2006, DOI: 10.3390/s6111537
Abstract: Arrays of chemical sensors, usually called electronic noses (ENose), are widelyused in industry for classifying and identifying odours. They may also be used to locate theposition and detect the direction of an emission source. Usually this task is performed by anENose cooperating with a mobile vehicle, but when a source is instantaneous, or thesurrounding terrain is hard for vehicles to traverse, an alternative approach is needed. Thus athree-step method for a stationary ENose with a novel structure to detect the direction of adynamic source is presented in this paper. The method uses the ratio of measuredconcentration from different sensors (Cn /C1 where n=2, 4) as a discriminator. In addition, this method could easily be adapted to robotics as an optimized algorithm for path trackingto a source location. The paper presents the results of a simulation of the method.
